Sooooo glad they aren't used, I don't want no damned repo casket! What if they were floor models? Or maybe they have a dent or a scratch (or the wrapping/packaging was damaged)? oohhh maybe they are "custom orders" that got rejected on delivery by the buyer because something was wrong (they had second thoughts about the lime green ruched satin interior being such a good idea....)

If I had the space and I was older, I would totally consider this! I will probably be cremated, but otherwise, I am such a bargain lover that I might go for this if the price was fantastic.

This is just a ploy to bring all the vampires out to be identified.

This is just a ploy to bring all the vampires out to be identified. So I'm maybe not good with the overnight security job at the warehouse full of caskets. This could be the beginning of a great screenplay.

Instead of "Night at the Museum" we'll have "Night at the Warehouse". Who should star in this?

I remember some on-line place that sold traditional style hand made wooden coffins with a tag line about why not enjoy the beauty of the wood and the hand made quality and craftsman ship as a coffee table (or bookself/storage) before you went to your eternal rest in it. The coffins were quite nice - you could custom order different woods and/or inlaid wood designs.

I'm going for cremation personally. DH and I had a truly hysterical experience buying his dad's casket many decades ago. The sales person kept telling us about the "lifetime waterproof warranty" and we're both thinking "who the $*%* is going to dig up the casket and check it out? And whose lifetime are you talking about?" The poor guy thought we were losing it emotionally and certainly we were due to the stress of events, but that convinced us both to go the cremation route.

Makes sense to me- in the old days the undertaker was also the local furniture maker because they typically made the coffins they sold. In a small town in Ohio near me there was a funeral home and a furniture store owned by the same family with the same last name on the stores- I'm sure they were originally one business. The French actress Sarah Bernhardt bought her own coffin and slept in it every night.

This is just a ploy to bring all the vampires out to be identified. Most of us are to smart to fall for that ploy

If you line them correctly, they make great coolers for parties. Hold lots of drinks and ice.

Went to a Single A small town baseball game long time ago. It was a get in free night sponsored by the local mortuary. Don't remember if it was just a joke or if they actually gave away a casket as a prize. "Get out your ticket for the free drawing. ..."

Been to a few of the Single A baseball games and wished I had a casket to lie down in and snooze Sleeping on bleachers isn't a lot of fun and hard on the bones.

We used rented caskets for dgm and dgf viewing/funeral. They didn't seem to mind having "used" accomodations. I think they'd prefer that over spending thousands on something that was going to be literally set on fire within a week.

No viewing planned here, just a good party and then ashes in the columbarium of a church we no longer attend because the purchase price is non-refundable (how's that for a staunch YM-er?)

They gotta make room for the 2019 models. The new models have the brushed steel trim and the interior is much roomier. That was achieved by removing the extra padding and replacing it with a thin layer of organic material that houses latent larvae that will become active as soon as all noise is removed and the temperature becomes constant.

Ugh. Just burn me immediately. My religion (that I was born into) doesn't permit cremation. They want you to be on public display for 3 days in the church, while the mourners weep. Nope, nope, nope. I had to put that in my will. Burn me immediately. Frankly, I'd rather be tossed on the frozen tundra for the wolves and bears to eat, but I'm pretty sure that's illegal. I can just see someone's German Shepard, Fido, coming home with a human femur in his mouth, the RCMP being called, and all hell breaking loose.
