Gee-imagine a guy who surrounds himself with such upstanding citizens like Paul Manafort and roger stone.
'Birds of a feather flock together' could not be more true than that.

Sounds like he had a lot of fun up until now. If he died from a heart attack at his age, he would be probably be happy with how he lived.

The plan may be to slow-walk the final punishment until Trump's term(s) are complete. And then issue the Presidential Pardon to forgive both the 19-24 years and up to 24 Millions.

If that's the plan very risky for manafort.
Would be super risky for trump to pardon before reelection and very risky for manafort to rely on a reelection before a pardon.

A pardon removes Manafort's right to the 5th amendment. He would then be called to testify in cases in SDNY against this administration. If he lied again, he could be charged with perjury (again) and not be eligible for a pardon on state charges.
A pardon isn't going to save anyone in this administration. It's also not going to save Manafort when it comes to current state charges in SDNY. He will die in jail one way or another.

I wonder if his supporters truly understand what a pardon entails & what it means in regards to future testimony. Also wonder if they grasp that a pardon is not available for state charges. They lack in depth understanding of so many things and looks like a pardon is one of them.

I think Manafort was given a strong indication he would be pardoned and I don’t think Trump follows through with it for exactly what you said. I’m shocked Manafort didn’t run to a non extradition country when he had the chance, I think he must have had the connections to do it.

I hope trump is afraid of the same, maybe that is why he is always kissing putins a** I don't think he's smart enough to know he should be scared. He's never been held accountable for anything in his entire life. He probably see's himself as a "teflon Don". But like his supporters who lack that in depth understand on things, he doesn't remember what happened to the 1st Teflon Don.

Trump's daddy, and then Trump, conducted their quasi legal business operations for decades. Trump's entire working life, he's been involved in that business, and he learned that you could cut corners and cheat people as long as you paid off the mobsters and kept a big stable of lawyers.
I'm guessing he assumed that same business model would also work for him as the POTUS.
He's canny, but not smart. it will end up being his downfall.

Yes, when putin is through with him, he will drop him like a hot rock. Now he either has something on him, or is just using him. I've read that trumps businesses have not been doing well since he became president. We can only hope, he needs some karma.

President Trump has some serious issues to worry about other than Paul Manafort. Get the investigation started and rally your base! Should be really easy to get these shows off the air since the US Constitution has been stamped in the ground. President Trump on Sunday accused major news networks of engaging in "collusion" against his administration, asking how NBC's "Saturday Night Live" could get away with "hit jobs" without retribution.
"Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC!" Trump tweeted early Sunday morning. "Question is, how do the Networks get away with these total Republican hit jobs without retribution?
"Likewise for many other shows? Very unfair and should be looked into. This is the real Collusion!" www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-rips-saturday-night-live-over-total-republican-hit-jobs-this-is-the-real-collusion/ar-BBTHzzH?ocid=spartandhp

I suspected he was looking at a death sentence. I said so almost a year ago.
turns out I was right.
so, are we still going to argue that Mueller's probe is a "road to nowhere", or will Manafort's death sentence change that thinking?

Won't change the thinking, because it's always been 'This had nothing to do with Trump.'
Just like the charges against Cohen, or Stone, or Popadoplous, or Flynn - none of it had anything at all to do with Trump.
Trump just happened to be standing in the near vicinity when that shit hit the fan.
There is no visual or audible evidence of any kind that will convince that die hard 30% of Trumpettes that Trump was at all involved in any kind of illegal and/or treasonous activity - they merely put their fingers in their ears and sing the national anthem very loudly.
I've about had it with them. I say we send them all free tickets to cruises, load them all on big boats and send them on a continual cruise around the world. Give the real patriots a chance to preserve democracy and the constitution.

I would argue that they all have to do with Trump.
but not all of them have to do with collusion with Russia.
I would argue that the Papadopoulos case does, and the Stone case does.
but we will see. I am not a judge, an attorney, or a jury. just a guy with opinions.

I would argue if half your campaign staff and your best friends are either indicted or going to jail, the chances of you being completely crime free are mathematically almost zero. If he skips on collusion, they'll nail him for some other kind of sleaze, if not while he's POTUS, then the day he walks out of the WH an ordinary citizen.

I agree, if for no other reason than he is hopelessly untidy in his affairs.
I mean affairs in the sense of "how he conducts himself", but I also think he is untidy with his affairs by the other meaning.
