Perhaps the Seahawks can sign him now for less money than he wanted when they brought him in. Give him a 1 year contract and let him work back into foottball shape as Wilson's backup and then become a free agent for 2020-21 season. It's not as if many teams have starters better than he was as a 49er.

Wilson is just one spin the wrong way at the wrong time for a season ending injury.

Things looking up for him!
I think this is wrong. As long as he was on a team, the owners have control over his actions while on payroll. If the owners didn't like what he was doing while on payroll, he could be fired. Just as anyone else in any other industry.
Actions have consequences. Right or wrong.
Had I been owner, for as long as his contract he would be made to show up to all practices in uniform, all games in uniform, ………… and would be a bench warmer. Then his contract not renewed.
As long as he was enjoying the perks of a US professional sport, he should honor it's symbol.

Let me rephrase this.
As long as he is enjoying the perks of being in the US and playing professional sports, he should honor the US symbol.
Otherwise play his game in a country with a symbol he can honor.
If you don't like it ………………. LEAVE
Actions have consequences

And because knowledge is your friend. It was a former military service member who suggested that Kaepernick kneel instead of sitting. A MILITARY SERVICE MEMBER. He would know exactly what he fought to defend and that one of those things was the right to protest.

It's not as if many teams have starters better than he was as a 49er. His QBR rating had fallen into the 40’s his last couple seasons, the league had figured him out and he was a step slower. He probably had 2 years left as a backup in 2016, today’s NFL with all the QB protection much favors pocket passers, there isn’t much demand for a 31 year old running qb even as a backup.

I hope the Seahawks do pick up him up. I have a friend (avid Seahawks fan) who hates him for kneeling. Personally, I respect anyone who puts their money where their mouth is.... He paid a price for taking a stand. I admire that. And there is nothing disrespectful about kneeling. It’s far more respectful than attacking Gold Star families

They are leaving a situation they don't like instead of staying and fixing it. Or is the USA immigration process a one way street. Everyone who disagrees with your version of America should leave and anyone else is not welcome to come here.

In 2016 he started a majority of the games. 59% completions matching his career numbers and 16-4 to int ratio. He was better than a myriad of qb’s that year. At 31 he’s hardly done especially with 2 years off. Seattle’s O led the league in rushing and most run option plays yet Wilson’s rushing totals were down and he had his best passing year. Kaepernick would fit in well but he wants to be a starter and is good enough. I guess if the NFL colluded and now pays him no one will have to hire him. Thus taking a backup position with a team that has progressive owner/mgmt./coach would be a good place to start. That’s if he even wants to play anymore.

He wasn’t even close to the same player in 15/16 that he was in 12/13: “Those issues intensified in 2015 and 2016 amid the 49ers' coaching turmoil and talent drain. Since the start of the 2015 season, Kaepernick ranks last in the NFL among 35 qualified passers in off-target percentage (22.6). His completion percentage ranks No. 32 at 59.1. He still was one of the NFL's most productive rushing quarterbacks, ranking No. 4 in total yardage over those years, but it didn't mitigate his passing deterioration.” www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/234081/colin-kaepernicks-biggest-problem-performance-not-politics2012 Kaepernick would have been signed in a heartbeat, the kneeling wouldn’t have mattered.

Being a Seattleite and Seahawks fan I can assure you the 49ers were vastly superior in 12/13 than his last 2 years. And you also mentioned the coaching turmoil. They basically sucked so of course his numbers suffered.
You cite '13 yet he had a lower completion percentage, a 21-8 td int ratio and only a 65 QBR. It's a team sport AJ.

Hmmm? ... cleaning toilets ... clean toilets ... ... selling shoes ... sell shoes ... ... changing oil ... change oil ... ... serving in the military ... serve in the military ... Okay that last one makes sense. playing professional sports ... play his game ... nah, I just don't see the connection.

Afterall, you found his '13 season awesome and his '16 as garbage, but check his stat line on any site. It was the team around him that was the real problem.

Going from Jim Harbaugh to Jim Tomsula and Chip Kelly is a serious dropoff. Both were fired after one year. That doesn't happen all that often, and twice in two years for the same team?

I have to admit I have never really forgiven Kaepernick for leading Nevada to that overtime win over Boise State during his senior year.

Isn't that more interesting? Yeah, "America, love it or leave it" got boring about 50 years ago.
