That's not for me (nor, you, for that matter) to decide. It's above both our pay-grades, I'm afraid. I will say, I don't judge McCabe based on Mrs. McCabe's actions/affiliations. they certainly appear to have been within rights to have the DISCUSSION.
since they never acted on it, it appears they thought better of the idea.
I am not sure where the "foul" is, here.
DJ, he did act on it by furthering the investigation based on the unproven Steele dossier, full well knowing that the Clinton political team was behind it!

Why not mmhmm, we have plenty of poster here that judge people around Trump only because of their affiliation! Why not? Because, to me it's foolish to do so. Because two people are married does not mean they cannot think, and act, for themselves. I am not "plenty of posters". I am one individual poster and I do think and act for myself. I also do not have an "affiliation" in the way I believe you to mean that word. I'm an independent voter, AS. I don't have a party. I'm interested more in issues than ideology.

sounds like he was doing his job.
NOTE: please let me know that you have not forgotten that the Steele Dossier started as a GOP project. stop blaming Hillary for what Steele did. it was the GOP, then Democrats. that is a much larger group than "Team Clinton".

Does any one remember why McCabe was fired? McCabe was dismissed in March 2018 after an internal watchdog report found he misled investigators
who were looking into FBI leaks about its probe into the Clinton Foundation during the 2016 presidential race
Well, Well, Well, On top of his wife receiving a huge amount of money from the Clinton's!!!

I think so. it was for being unprofessional, I believe. his superiors didn't appreciate his flirting with his mistress on company time about politics. it showed a lack of discretion.
or am I mixing him up with someone else?
edit: no, I think I am getting him mixed up with Strzok. I really don't know why McCabe was fired, or I can't recall.

His 60 Minutes interview explained this. He was being questioned by investigators and lied to them three distinct times that he was not the source of the leak. Three times, and the answer was no. Asked how that could happen, and he said he was confused with the question. Three times. An upper echelon FBI management person exceptionally knowledgeable in questioning techniques was confused and he was confused three different times by the quesion. Now why did that not work out for all the guys convicted by Mueller and team? All they had to say is "I was confused by the question" and get a do over........

The GOP version was paid for by someone that absolutely hated Trump, Would have done anything short of an Assassination attempt to keep Trump out!

The GOP version was paid for by someone that absolutely hated Trump both versions were. but Steele is also a very good raw intelligence asset.
this is guilt by association, oc. let's say I am the most unreliable on the planet. let's say that I hire the most reliable person on the planet to do a project for me. are you going to assume that the most reliable person is now unreliable, simply because he or she works for me?

I am a little confused by the flow of this thread.
at certain points, people are claiming that McCabe is a liar. but the whole premise of this thread is that he was telling the truth when he "talked about pushing Trump out" and "wearing a wire".
can you explain that?

At this point it is a crapshoot. We do have to remember he is pushing book sales this week. He might be doubling down because one, he might be charged with crimes, and two, he wants that golden retirement package he lost. I land on him being a liar and covering his ass. The Deputy AG, I am not sure about just yet, but he obviously had some very questionable conversations. Well spoken career agency people (pick any federal or state agency not just FBI) can talk their way out of any situation. Look at Virginia upper echelon today as an example right now, they are all still in their jobs) the FBI upper echelon and to a lessor extent the DOJ leaders look much like the CIA mgmt did decades ago when it was figured out how dirty the agency was. Most posters here are too young to know or remember much about the scandals, but I know you are highly knowledgable on their sins at the time. The difference is the majority of the American public believed how corrupt the CIA is/was and they do not want to believe the FBI is in the same position today because they dislike Trump even more. Granted the CIA was about deceit and illegal activities, but this is what is happening in D.C with the FBI since the election and even before during the campaigns.
