this year $6.50 on V-Day treats for DS's class (stickers and rubber rings). Oh, and like $2 on a bag of heart-shaped York Peppermint Patties for DS and I to share.

$70-$1₩0. I learned very early in our relationship that it is a very significant day for my wife.

$0 DH and I buy what we want/need when we want/need it. I refuse to go out to dinner with a bazillion people out to impress each other. We show our love in many other ways. Yesterday he shoveled and cleared my car and I had the day off and made him a stunning meal.

$2.49 for cards (TJ MAXX has the cutest ones) and $44 for Maker’s Mark (1.5L).
I also made chocolate dipped strawberries for work so $2.50 (chocolate) and $7(strawberries).
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
He bought me $20 roses and $7 card (I would never pay that!).

$1 for DD’s cards for school. I bought her bathtub finger paint, $2. We’re getting takeout with a gift card we got for Christmas, and DH was told that he can buy me cut flowers if he waits until tomorrow when they’re on sale. I’m a gardener, is much rather have a flowering plant than overpriced holiday flowers. Roses were $13 at Aldi! Their roses are usually $6 or so.

TBD. So far $40 for a friend's ticket to an event we were going to attend. She's going to babysit and I'm taking DH instead. $8 for parking, $16 for overpriced concessions drinks. We'll probably order pizza before we head out. I usually try to get or make something but honestly just didn't feel like it this year. Having a date night is more exciting than the tchotkes.

$55. I have 5 grandchildren and I like to send a card with a little $$ in it to each of them at Valentines, Easter, and Halloween. So, $1 for a card and $10 per card. It sounds like a lot, but I'm the grammy and it makes me happy, so I do it.

Probably 0. TD has my car and I’m stuck at the top of a skating rink. Last night, when dinner was about half done, he stopped me and asked if I wanted to go out to dinner then since he didn’t make reservations for tonight.

$0.
Unless I count the $14 I just spent on lunch, because it completes me.

I think about $4 on a card so far. When I was shopping for cards I pulled out one I thought was kind of cute, flipped it over and saw it was $8.99! When did that sort of craziness happen?? That's nonsense! Anyway, I may get him something else sort of belated. I've been swamped at work and feeling like complete shit this week so I'm behind the curve on everything. I don't know how much he spent. We often don't celebrate valentine's but we always ask each other if we want a gift and this year I said yes!

I'm going to say $70.
$50 for new tennis shoes and card for DH.
$10-15 for dessert from the local bakery.
$5 or so for wrapping stuff. We have friends visiting from out of town this weekend. The wife bought liquor for her husband and shipped it to us because Pennsylvania is stupid. DH promised her we would wrap it up.
I'm fairly certain I have no wine bags that don't scream Christmas. I'm going to check tonight but otherwise I'll run out Friday morning.

Nada on the Hubs.
We bought the Boy some chocolate to send in a care package but we had the munchies the other night and ate it. So yeah- I transferred $50 to his checking account in lieu of a college care package.

This year: $6500Our house that we bought 6 months ago came with flat top electric builtin cooktop. I wanted gas, so we are replacing that AND our microwave-oven wall builtin combo. DH says this is my Valentine's Day gift Previous years: $0-$20.

On a normal year, probably $100. Gifts for our kids, $20 from/to DH and I.
This year, kind of zero. Except it was supposed to a lot.
My Husband is in LA right now on work trip. I was supposed to go with him. It happened to be scheduled over Valentine’s Day, so we were calling it our present to each other.
Then I had emergency surgery last week. I’m home. He’s there. I didn’t get our kids anything. We didn’t get anything else for each other.

Did you have to run a gas line for a gas cooktop? Yep! Called a plumber who ran it for us. Thanks. I am ready to pitch the old electric stove we have off the deck. When we pulled it out to do the countertops a few years ago, there was no gas line run. Frustrating, as this was the local builder’s house and he ran gas lines in every other house he built in the neighborhood. I was curious as to the ballpark cost.

The $6.00 for class valentine's for DD1 and DD2. DH and I have plans for part of a kid free Saturday..not sure how much we'll spend. Tickets will run us $24. We may buy stuff if something tickles our fancy. Maybe buy lunch or snacks. Depends on timing.
I don't know how much DH is planning to spend on me. But, I think it will be enough to cover getting fitted for a bra and then an actual one that fits me well. It's been at least 2 years since I've had one that fits properly. Probably a lot longer.
He also mopped the floor today.

Frustrating, as this was the local builder’s house and he ran gas lines in every other house he built in the neighborhood. I was curious as to the ballpark cost. So it was $550 for us. He had to run about 8 feet of pipes from the gas line to the kitchen counter. I forget how much it was per foot, but that plus labor was $550. We are buying a Thermador 5 burner gas cooktop to go with that.

We have a gas fireplace, so there is likely no more than 25-30 feet from there to the stove. Not sure how the gas line runs, so it might be closer, but that’s the max.
I will be kind of stuck as to styles of stoves that fit the space though. We have quartz counters and any stove needs to fit in that space.
Of the kitchen appliances, only the dishwasher has been replaced as it croaked. The rest are 20+ years old and are reaching the end of their life. I suspect when the stove or fridge goes, we will overhaul all.
