So how’s your morning going? I knew better, but in my attempt to get to a meeting at the state capital this morning, I drove my car down a side road, that’s also a bus route, so I thought it would work.
I was wrong, so now here I sit, almost a Mike from the closest house, in my nice suit, stuck in the middle of the road. Wrecker said they “should” be here in an hour, although the guy on the phone needed me to spell out “Volvo” so I have my doubts when/if they will actually make it.
I keep hoping someone else will come by with a truck to help, but no one gets up this early around here...

ugh, I'm sorry. stay warm out there. today was fine for me, I woke up to 43 degrees and rain. anything that had accumulated on my car was gone. flash back 3w to my first day at the new job, and I too found myself waiting on a tow truck and getting to work late. here's hoping your detour doesn't f up your day too much.

Wish I had some coffee, and also regret not driving the truck. Is it wrong to call the house and wake my wife up, ask her to get dressed and bring the truck down to pull me out? She has a snow day, so her phones probably turned off..,

I should take a nap while i’m waiting, I’m worried they will think I’m dead. I finally saw some movement and got excited, then I realized it was just a wind blown leaf...

it's not wrong to try to reach your wife, no. I don't think I could be pissed about a wakeup call like this, knowing you're okay.

Oh dear tractor. You got yourself in a pickle. I hope help comes soon.
Reason #967,876,345 why I don't like snow.

So after sitting awhile, and against my better judgement I decided to try and move the car, it did move, now I’m sideways in the road, completely blocking any traffic that might come along (no one in the past hour). The snow is only 6-inches deep, but the solid two inches of ice underneath makes it impossible to get any traction, I think it’s going to be a very long day.

Tractor!
I will admit upfront that I am a worrier.
How safe is it for you to sit in the car in the middle of the road? If someone does come along, is there a good chance they might hit the car? Where I live, it's almost a guarantee (stupid drivers), especially if there's snow on the road. But I don't like the idea of you getting away from the car and freezing either. Ugh!
Please let us know when you get out of there.

I would try to call your wife. Even if she wakes up, she has the day off. She can take a nap later.

Glad you are moving again.
Got to say I’m a little disappointed that someone with the screen name had to call a wrecker.
I’ve never got my car stuck in a snawbank. Actually I’ve never seen one.

Always carry heavy extra clothing in the vehicle. That's a big problem with my husband. We went to New York, I didn't pay attention, he took a summer jacket in December in an area that gets bad, bad. I had bought son a heavy coat for Christmas, I made hubs take it. I mean a supposedly intelligent man going into an area known for blizzards doing that. Have a shovel, coveralls, gloves, etc. When we travel I take blankets, water, some snacks, dress DD and I very warm. He didn't even have his boots! He fusses at me for "loading" the truck down. Yep and there have been a few times I was happy I did. Also even if a vehicle is new they can break down.
Lecture done, glad you are out and safe. Be careful.

Tractor - you've got a great title for a country music song with 'Stuck In A Snow Bank'. (I'm thinking Grammy worthy.)
While waiting for the tow truck, write down those lyrics!

Haven't you heard of Skype? Nope, don’t believe in it. The only real way to get things done is person to person contact.

I know, the worst thing is I decided to take the car instead of the new 4x4 truck sitting in my driveway. Wouldn’t have gotten stuck, but there I was.

I take it you are ok now? So glad. Yep, tow truck had to drag me 3 miles before we found a plowed road for me to take off on my own. For the record, I’m never really “OK”, but I’m back to my normal self sitting in a boring meeting 🙂

I got stuck in a snow bank in my own driveway last night. We got about 10 inches of snow last night, with lots of blowing/drifting over solid ice. County hasn’t plowed yet, took me 3 hours just to get my driveway passable last night. Despite all that, I really don’t mind all the white stuff.

You don't have AAA, or even roadside assistance with your car insurance? h CAA has been a lifesaver. For $74, you get three tows, plus help if you lock your keys in the car or need a battery boost.

Back in Indiana, I call my son. It is free. In Florida, no snow or ice, and the car has never broke down.

In any case, no matter where you live, shit happens. Most auto insurance policies come with roadside assistance.
