Why are the weather forecasters around here always wrong? Makes me wonder if they can even spell their name. Many many years ago one of the weather forecasters was way off and stood there and said "Well, you have to be an idiot or crazy to try to forecast weather on the Gulf Coast. And I don't know which one I am." This was long before all the so called hi tech weather stuff they have now!! Looking out the window works for me

Wondering what to do with all the styrofoam Omaha Steak coolers this morning. I dislike the styrofoam environmental issues. Also had the opportunity to play with the dry ice from the shipment this morning. Do you ever ship breakable items via FedEx, UPS, USPS, ETC.? If yes, break up the styrofoam into peanut size pieces and use them for packing. Does nothing to solve the recycling problem but at least they are being reused for another purpose. Everbreak up Styrofoam? I always get the little bitty pieces that go flying everywhere and are a pain in you no where trying to round up

The rest is history.

I learned after opening the first Christmas card in the house to open the next Christmas cards outdoors.

Tennesseer I had a cousin who always sent cards with confetti. I learned to open the cards over the trash can (too cold in winter to open outdoors). I'd still find confetti in the house, but not as much. Then she died after a brief illness and I wished I was still receiving cards full of confetti.

Our local independent art store keeps the glitter under lock and key with signs referencing the Great Glitter Incident of 2013. They will tell you the whole story if you ask, they can even laugh about it a little now.

Why isn’t there a way to turn down the (way too) loud volume of the tv while it stays muted so you don’t wake up everyone in the house?
In related thoughts, do all the people who post vlogs to YouTube whisper so the tv has to be cranked all the way up so you can hear them? Or is it the only way to reduce the ambient noise while still getting everyone’s voices in the video?

Why do the city buses run ahead of schedule in craptastic weather/road conditions, but run behind schedule when everything is fine? All my buses were a few minutes early today. In great weather, they've been 10-15 minutes late.

Why is it when we are home in Indiana, and humidity is 70% we are so affected by it, and yet in Florida, the humidity is at 80 or 85% and it does not bother us? Wondering if it has anything to do with being close to the gulf at sea level........

Why are some people just blatant assholes. Driving to work this morning there was a guy walking on the sidewalk drinking a Dr. Pepper. I am crawling along in traffic and see him finish the bottle and then just throw it over his shoulder. Seriously, WTF is wrong with people! There was a trash can right there on the corner. He was getting ready to pass it within a few more steps, and even if he wasn't, hold on to it until you get to a trashcan jerk. I really don't get some people.

Wondering why my wife always insists on talking to me about things when I get on this message board, when we had been sitting in the living room with the tv on pause because she has been on the phone with a relative for 20 minutes, and I waundered off out of boredom and came here

Wondering why we are lucky to see one or two plows when there are actual winter storms, yet there's less than an inch on the ground and two plows have come past our house. Making sure there isn’t seed snow for the next real storm? In reality, it’s probably a function of the amount of snowfall and your area’s plowing procedures. Even with minor snowfalls, they probably go around and check for slick spots that need sand or salt. In our area, snow plows make a quick pass through to open up all the roads. Then they come back and make a second pass to widen the area they have plowed to a full two lanes. Heavy snows take longer to plow. More plowing around stranded vehicles and the like. So you are more likely to see two plows in short order after a light snow than during/ after a heavy snow. Then again, it could be your location. Used to live across the street from the county garage. The streets on both sides of our house were the first streets in town that were plowed. And they were plowed repeatedly during a snow storm, as plow trucks came in from their plow routes to refuel, load more sand, and the like. If you’re driving down the street, you might as well have the blade on the ground pushing aside the snow that is there.

1. Define intelligent conversation. (I only ask because when you really want to be alone, even a room full of people with the intelligence of Albert Einstein, the wit of Robin Williams and the style of Grace Kelly can sound like the "wah, wah, wah" of Charlie Brown's teacher.) There are those that think that traveling from Pa to Tennessee is “going to a foreign country” or that US is the World(altogether) or refer to most foreigners with “them illegals” and many other things of the kind. The guy is an immigration lawyer and his wife is a cardiovascular surgeon. She is German born and raised. Her mom is staying with them for a while(visiting from Germany) and she prepared the meal. Wanted to meet my wife. The lady is still stumbling a bit on English so after introduction was made she turns to me and said “you made a good selection!” which made me laugh my mind going straight to the farmers market: yes! Great selection of parsley and rosemary and other herbs and with that you get a 5’-7” blonde for a wife!😂 Does a wife count as a spice? Are redheads spicier than blondes or brunettes?

Why do I always think I'll remember what's in the jar I put in the freezer unlabeled? Also, what IS that stuff? It looks like I froze milk, but I don't think I've ever done that.

I'm dealing with that yet again. Started pulling out stuff before making a grocery list. My wife gets mad at me when I do this. But this time I found 5 packs of chicken. She agreed we'd thaw one and I wouldn't buy any for awhile. The plastic containers with chili, spaghetti sauce or whatever had freezer burn and got tossed. This time I made a list of what went back in and put it on the door. Maybe that will help.

It only works when two people are both religious about marking stuff off or onto the list. Needless to say, it doesn't work here. There is a lock for the freezer door, but I don't think I've ever had a key to it. It's tempting to see if I could find the key...
