Named after characters/actors on the Walking Dead franchise.
Of course when people ask, we tell them they were named after Presidents because it sounds a lot fancier.

Mine both have biblical names, which is not what you'd guess from me.
Oldest is Samuel, because I really, really wanted a boy. I was terrified of having a girl. In the bible Hannah prayed for a son and said if God granted her one she would name him Samuel (which means "heard by God"). We had a few names picked out ahead of time as we also didn't know if it was a boy or a girl until delivery. When he was born the doctor asked if we decided on a name yet and my husband said "well, not really yet, we have a few...", but I immediately went, "Saaaaam!" Hannah also vowed to give him over to God to serve him, so I kind of failed at that part. He does go to a Catholic school though! Youngest is Elijah. Mainly because I wanted a Sam and Eli, but also because of the story of Samuel and Elijah.
They sound like a couple of fine little Amish boys don't they?

I want to say Lincoln - Andrew Lincoln. Abraham - though I can't imagine you named kids Abraham and Lincoln. That's too much.

The name had to be Russian/Hebrew/French/English to satisfy everyone. My parents, his parents and we live in a French/English milieu. Simon fit the bill, and it's a name I like.

Thing 1's name is the same as a sister of my grandpa. I just liked Thing 2's name. She's not named after anyone in particular.

Years ago, long before we were married, my husband said how much he liked the name Sophia. I agreed that it was lovely and very unusual because I could only think of Sophia Loren and Sophia from the Golden Girls. Fast forward a few years and we name our firstborn Sophia... number one name in the country . Four years later, I pulled a list of the top 100 names and any we liked that was on the list I tossed. I have a Gaelic name and it is the bane of my existence so much so that when I was a child I pretended my name was Jane. Our youngest girl is named Jane . I haven't heard of many little girls named Jane and yet last year there was a Jane in her ballet class and another one on her swim team!

Never heard of any Sam's, then BANG. 4 in his scout troop alone.

DD isn't named after anyone. I literally had tons of names that I liked, but DH hated all of them except the one we gave DD. Afterwards I realized all 3 of DH's children have gender neutral names that end in the same sound. I guess that is why he liked DD's name. We had nothing for a boy. We went into the gender ultrasound at an impasse on boy names. DH's pick for a boy name was still gender neutral and ended in the same sound, but I didn't notice.

DS's first name is a plain jane Biblical name. His middle name is my maiden name, so the odds that he would use that instead of his given name were slim, and we didn't want to give him an unusual first name because he wouldn't have a fallback of switching to a more normal middle name.
My dad didn't have any sons, so my son carries both my family name and DH's name - and a nice sturdy, non trendy first name.

I want to say Lincoln - Andrew Lincoln. Abraham - though I can't imagine you named kids Abraham and Lincoln. That's too much. One of my cousins named one of her Sons Abraham. She is very religious, he is somewhere in his 30's though, so long before the Walking Dead was on TV.
My husband did not want his Son named after him- mainly b/c his teachers never could pronounce his name in school. We picked our kids names from a baby name book, both start with A. We chose the second one to sound good with the first kid's name. My husband later changed his first name and adopted our son's first name for business. He used it for probably 15 years before he legally changed his first name. We were afraid he might eventually have issues with banking, real id, or a passport.

My stepsons have mostly biblical names. The older one’s middle name is both biblical and after DH’s grandfather. The younger one’s first name is after a baseball player and his middle name is the same as my husband’s middle name.
My husband’s name is completely after the disciples. My name is after no one in our family. However, it’s an incredibly common name for girls born in the 70s.
My older daughter has a short, English name that is considered old fashioned. Her middle name is Grace. My younger daughter’s name is Gaelic and the same number of letters as my older daughter’s name. It does coincide with a tv show, but that was not intentional. Her middle name is also biblical.

I've named my cats after the Beatles, all except for the first three cats I ever had. Does that count?
My mom had such a unique name that in her 90 years of life, she never meant another woman with her name. She said she didn't want to do that to her child. So she gave me a name she liked and my middle name is the same middle name as both grandmothers. They had only picked out names for a boy because they had a feeling that didn't turn out to be correct. There were 5 girls in my first grade class with the same first name. There were only 18 kids in the entire first grade class. Most of the other girls were named Mary.]
Given that dad never had a son, he didn't get to have a child named after him. My mom's youngest sister gave dad's first name to her 3rd son and dad was so happy.
My sister's oldest son has dad's middle name. He uses his complete name professionally.

My EX family were practically foaming at the mouth about me making my son the III. No way was he going to get stuck with his dad's middle name. I just plain didn't like it. Every time the doc came into my room (back in dark ages when you stayed for 5 days) to ask what name to put on birth certificate someone from that side of family was there so I gave my stock answer "not real sure just yet"
Day I was to go home doc came into room and low and behold I was alone. He asked "are we going to send this baby home as "noname" baby?
Told him no the name on his birth certificate would be (insert name here). When ex came to pick me up I said "meet you son - insert name here!!
I did compromise and give kiddo his dad's first name but he is called by his middle name. Geeze, I was/still am such a bitch.

My boys are both named after agricultural machinery manufacturers. Deere and Ferguson? Ferguson would be a great girls name. The other guesses are correct.

Then-husband saw a name in a "fantasy" book that he liked. So, son's name (it's a real French name, but he goes by the last bit, which could be a bit Irish). We would have used the same name for a girl, but changed all the "e"s to "a"s. There is one other kid we've found in the states with the same first and last name, and that is the only kid I've seen with the same first name at all.
The shortened version is the same as my best-guy-friend-from-school's name, so we joked that I named him after the friend.
Middle name was something my sister and I came up with to match the first and last name, so it's common and normal (very much unlike his first name).

I didn't realize it until a couple weeks after she was born, but my daughter is named after a character that was in the soap opera I watched in high school. Her middle name is the female version of my husband's brother.
My husband wanted to name my son the same name as the all girls Catholic school that is two blocks from our house. I put a stop to that, and ended up conceding on the least horrible thing my husband picked. It is the last name of one of the worst President's in US history. His middle name is the same as my father. I wish I had pushed harder to make that his first name. My maiden name is dead. One male cousin, who is decidedly child free at 50.

We played it pretty safe. My kids have first names that have spent the last 40 years in the top 100, but never top 10. For middle DS got FIL's name and DD got my mother's.
