You must admit that he was very careful in his "falling" down scheme.

I wonder how many lonely, crazy, etc people use those "help buttons" to get someone to chat with? I've never heard any stories about that, but it seems to me there would be quite a few. I would guess it happens all the time -unless there is a way to block it.
Any idea? Have you heard stories about this happening?

I hope I don't end up a lonely crazy old lady using call buttons to talk to people. I could see folks doing that. I grew up lonely, and particularly in my teen years when dad worked away, mom worked, and I was home alone. I would get so lonely I would sit and cry. I got to where I would ride my bike to town to visit some of my school friends but it was at least 4 miles each way I think so didn't do it to often. A miles of it was a gravel road. It's always been with me and even when I'm around people I always feel like I'm not wanted and lonely. I never really learned how to fit in right. I have known it forever and never figured out how to do it. Something simple for others, escapes me. I'm sure a therapist would have a field day.
I guess I use facebook and forums now to stay in touch with the world. I imagine I am not the only one, I have read loneliness effects millions in the world.

I have a really hard time making small talk. I'm quiet when I get my hair cut.

My BIL is a fireman/paramedic. They routinely go out on call that are really just lonely people in need of someone to talk to. One man slides out of his wheelchair about every ten days or so and then calls for help. He's never injured, they just put him back in his chair and stay and chat for a while. If they don't hear from him, they do a wellness check.
