I've never had Prime, but due to an error when I ordered some smart plugs, it appears that I now do have it...so what's next?
I just ordered some soap that my dermatologist told me to use, but my question is how little do you order at a time, or do you just load up with everything at one time? I have a few things I can order, but it seems silly to place an order for just a few items.

Sometimes I only order 1 or 2 items, sometimes I order more. Whatever I need or want at the time.
Prime also has a few other benefits besides the free shipping.

Do you just have it for a limited time?

I usually order a few things at a time because it seems wasteful to ship one small item, but I wouldn't wait on soap that a dermatologist told me to use. There is a nice selection of movies and books available without additional charges to Prime members, so I would recommend that you check it out.

I've ordered natural soap from Amazon before. IIRC it was an add-on item, meaning they wouldn't ship it by itself. Some of the inexpensive items are like that, understandably so.

Do you just have it for a limited time? I don't know......it just sort of happened when I placed an order. It had been a long time since I had ordered from them and the ordering part of the website was different, so I clicked on the wrong thing and "bingo", looked like I had just OKed it. And the that order was over a week ago, so the 2 day trial should be over. The package had Prime written all over it when it arrived yesterday.

Have you tried calling them and telling them it was a mistake. I have no idea what their cancellation/refund policy is, but they have provided good customer service to me in the past.

OK, I was just on the Amazon website. They will charge me $12.99/mo starting Febr. 12, 2019, or I can change that and pay $119.00 for the year. I'm not sure I could justify the yearly membership as I have no way of knowing what or how much I will actually spend.
I must admit it was nice getting the order in 2 days. QVC shopping is expensive, especially if you need to return something (they charge for that too) and it can take up to 10 days at time to get the order delivered.

I love prime, especially now with the kids and lack of bricks and mortar stores. But, with four kids now, I'd rather go on Amazon to source cheap snowpants for DS than rather than go to Target, Walmart, etc.
As for returns, there's an Amazon pick up place at work. Returns are slick. Print off a label, go to pick up spot, and drop off.
I also don't buy music, so I use their music services...video not so much anymore, especially now that we have sling. We don't shop at whole foods..but there's that as well.
I don't use subscribe and save, mostly because usually I can get better prices elsewhere...

I order whatever I need. Today's package has a couple items for my cruise. Even when you order items together, they may show up separately.

You can cancel it at any time and be refunded your balance if you don't want it.
I've had Prime for many years. I'm not sure I really get my money's worth out of it, but it's nice to have on the occasions I do use it. Christmas time it gets used a lot! I've considered cancelling, but I still am grandfathered into the old rules where you could share accounts with other people not in your household, so my aunt uses my account as well and I now use it to store all my photos which I'd have to move if I cancelled. Prime and Netflix are the only subscriptions I have for tv watching as well.

If you don't think you'll use any of the Prime benefits then just cancel it.
As far as how much I get in a shipment, depends on if I need it now or decide to wait. But I don't feel bad if I only buy one thing and that's it.
Aside from the video and music streaming there are whole host of other benefits, including a free six month subscription to the Washington Post ($3.99/month after).

I use it and order what I want when I need it. So many things come from different places, that they don't end up being shipped together.
You can cancel the monthly plan at any time.
I hate to shop, so Amazon is my go to.

I watch Prime TV and video, but not as much as Netflix and Hulu.
However, we order from Amazon what we need, when we need it. So, doing laundry, realizing how crappy my sock are, hop on, order a pack of socks, go back to folding laundry. I noticed that the bag of cat food was getting low, quick order, it will be here in a day. There have been a few days where we got 4 packages because I ordered something one day, another 2 day, and my husband ordered a couple things that came from different places. I do try and order double on small things, but for the most part, I'm just ruining the earth. Global waming is all me.

We use the heck out of Prime. We don't have cable- we use the holy trifecta of Prime, Hulu and Netflix.
As for Prime shopping- we use that a lot. I hate shopping so I prefer to do it on line. Plus I have my son's address set up and my great niece's- so I can order things and have them shipped directly to them. Works out really well.
But it should be noted- we drank the Kool-Aid years ago- we've been a "Prime" family since I think 2007.

I find the Prime shipping thing to be a pain in the ass. If I order 3 things - I will get 3 separate packages delivered at 3 different times (and times/days different than what Amazon predicted). This is annoying - because I have Porch Pirates - and the Amazon deliveries just get tossed on my porch (USPS, UPS guys usually will put packages between my front doors (storm door/house door) which often "hides" the package from view (from the sidewalk/street).
Oddly enough - the "free shipping" in 2 days isn't all that much better/different than the routine delivery in 3 days (the 5 days or more free shipping option). It might be because of where I live (that shipping is so fast).
That said, I do use Amazon Music and I'd like to use their video service - I just don't have the time (I use Netflix for the 8 hours of so of TV per week that I watch).

I use Prime. Now that I have to pay the adult rate (was able to use my old college email that we get to keep forever for a few years of student rates) I may not get the full price out of it - but I'll keep it. I like that I can order whatever I want whenever I want. I live where I often can get same/one day shipping on some items. I do watch their videos. I have the echo's and use the music.
I apparently place 28 orders last year, but the year before it was 49.

So I was curious 40 orders in 2018. 94 orders in 2017. I got married in 2017. A lot of stuff came from Amazon.

I have no problem ordering just one thing if I need it. That said it's like going to walmart or target a lot of the time - I intend to buy one thing and I end up more. The fact that I can order on my phone or computer makes it more dangerous though. For example last week I was hanging out with a buddy and his wife was showing me something they just got that I liked but is definitely more of a want than a need and I ended up ordering it.

I order a ton off Amazon.
This week: 6 pack of novelty socks (I like unique socks) Markers and a box of pens for work (I'm super picky about the pens I like so I buy them by the dozen and hide them in my desk) stainless steel edge banding and adhesive tape for the banding (we were demoing our countertops and found the original boomerang Formica pattern under the bland white overlay- some of the front is damaged so we are replacing it with the edge banding) A roller to help apply the edge banding New Kindle Cover (Damn dog ate mine) New phone cover (same damn dog stole my phone and ate that cover too) The Hubs must have also ordered some numbing cream today- he did complain about his back bothering him.
So yeah- we may be Prime addicts. Walk away now before it's too late!!!!! Now if you'll excuse me I'm in the middle of season three of Orphan Black (free on Amazon Prime )

Yeah, I order a thing here and there. I have about 20 orders in 2018. We have DD, Me, her Boyfriend and we had my Mom on the account, but I think she got deleted, she just has me order whatever she wants.
I don't worry about ordering more than one item at a time, we are close to the distribution center, soon to have one less than a mile away. I do wish they had less packaging. I love the order from the app, drive up, pick up at Target. convenient and less packaging. I often have my dogs in the car when I am on my way home from work, and don't want them to be left alone in car, so having them bring the stuff to the car is great.
I don't use the movies, but I keep telling myself to try it.
I have Kindle Unlimited...I want to read what I have saved and cancel it, I have not been reading as much of late. I also have Audible. Audible I want to keep. If I try to get audio books from the library, I am not always done before they go poof, so I like audible better, I think it is worth the cost.

My Dog ate a blue pen, on top of my comforter. New comforter ordered, online, but from JCPenney’s.

No, I don't use Prime reading, I thought those mostly were older books. I prefer to read Romance Novels. I am currently listening to Michelle Obama's book Becoming on Audible. I am enjoying it very much. It says I have 2 hours 8 mins remaining.

I put my foot down and claimed 50% of our available Kindle Unlimited space- I think you can have 10 books out at a time. The Hubs checks them out and forgets about them.
I started actively using KU in November and have read about 50 books for free through that. I read a lot- at least a book a day- with an average cost of $3.99 plus per book- KU has saved me at least $200 since November- that more than pays for my annual Prime membership

I don't need to know what they told me to do with my ADHD kid in the 80s, I'd rather know about all the lastest research.
