Well, what they are doing now, certainly is not working,,, How many billions of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ annnnnd ,, it does not work. Correction, it doesn't work as well as you'd like. Almost nothing is 100% in modifying human behavior. Its smarter IMO to think of what you want, and what you are willing to spend to get there. For example, 100% computer up time is insanely expensive, but 80% is much cheaper. The higher you go on the 80 to approaching range, your costs ramp up dramatically compared to what you achieve. Time to come up with realistic goals instead of no illegal kills a citizen ever. just a quick aside:
why is it any of the government's business what drugs I consume?
what happened to personal liberty?
how about this: you conservatives can have all the guns you want if I can have all the drugs I want.
deal?

Money well spent. Just think what trump can do with $5.7 billion. DHS has ‘ongoing difficulties’ meeting hiring goals: reportThe Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has experienced "ongoing difficulties" as it seeks to meet President Trump's goal of hiring 15,000 new immigration officers and border agents, a DHS official told The Los Angeles Times in a report published Sunday. “We have had ongoing difficulties with regards to hiring levels to meet our operational needs,” the unnamed DHS official told the Times on Saturday. The official noted that Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) gained 120 new agents last year, its first net gain in five years, calling the increase "a huge improvement." CBP in November 2017 signed a $60.7 million contract with consulting firm Accenture Federal Services as part of a nearly $300 million contract to onboard 7,500 officers by 2022. Accenture has so far only landed 33 new hires, according to the Times. A government watchdog report on November 2018 concluded that DHS was struggling to hire and train new agents, concluding that the agency was unprepared to bring on thousands of new hires. The report found the "hiring surge" had not begun, the Times noted. Complete article here: DHS has ‘ongoing difficulties’ meeting hiring goals: report

I wonder how much medical care we could provide for $5.7B. It would be interesting to see how many lives we can save that way. From what, Drug over doses?? Or, heart disease, or complications of chronic illnesses, or cancer, or whatever. It would be nice to live in a country that actually cared about its citizens.

From what, Drug over doses?? most of the current drug overdoses are from Phentonyl (sic). if memory serves, it is coming from China (mostly).
I can't remember you mentioning drug overdoses before this year. why the sudden concern?
Only cause it fit the current narrative.

Fentanyl is coming into Canada from China as well. The smugglers are becoming very clever. It's disguised in packages of everything from baby wipes to noodles. They can't check every single item that's being shipped. It would require a employee force of millions.

Evidently, the loss to the US economy during the shutdown, was $6 billion. Dumbass. I believe the reason behind his forbidding trangeneral folks from serving in Armed Forces was the possibility of paying for medical procedures of those who might request them...I believe it was estimated total costs if requested...past history ...about $6 to 8 million a year....When u consider the extra costs of his trips to his resorts....and now the cost to the country over the shut down...one in the hundred million range...the other now estimated in the billion dollar range....and he still has supporters....some who post here...thinking of one who just posted their support over who they were offered as alternative in 2016 election..meaning Hillery...my only reaction..."u got to be kidding.."....

90% of the drugs come though legal checkpoints... which is why dems want to invest in drug detection tech and not a wall. 40% of illegals come legally and overstay their visa which is why dems want to invest in database and tracking tech rather than a wall. Et fucking cetera. If they know 90% of the drugs come thru checkpoints, why don't they stop it,,,
So which is it, they know for a fact which means of transport that has the drugs,, which I ask why don't they stop it,, or they are lying about the numbers? Do they interview the agents to see who took payoffs to look the other way when the drugs come across? There are thousands of vehicles to search a year...concealed in cargoes...very sophisticated hiding...much is found but over all...probably only small fraction...that is what the $850 million extra is for...I am guessing equipment to help in the searches,,,don't ask me specifics, not a expert. Possible x ray types...more dogs trained in sniffing out the product...possible magic wands to be used...what ever... "to see who took payoffs"...what is with u...why so negative on everything...? To carry such a chip on your shoulder over everything , it must be tiring and p off others around u , unless u only associate with like minded folks...and come here just to …..Just wondering.

Did anyone see the interview on the CBS evening news with a young lady fleeing the violence in Venezuela? She said if Trump would oust their dictator, she would personally build, and paint the wall for him. Seems like an easy way to get the wall done 🙂

Several years was probably 30. Border crossing technology is a little different now. Yep. But then that was not the point of his post. It is the corruption that is still there today. It has to be obvious to everyone here Mexico does not want to keep the migrants out of their country. It is a boon to their country economically charging the migrants as they go along their merry way. Those busses and massive semis are not going north on "feel good deeds" via Mexican drivers everyday. The south border of Mexico was left wide open at night to allow migrants to walk into Mexico with this caravan until Fox news contacted the government and asked why no one was on duty. And yes, there was a reporter there at the time showing them walking right through gate entrance.

So 30 years ago someone took a trailer into Mexico at a checkpoint...just how are you connecting this to building a wall at non checkpoints today.

That there might be some one open to bribes doesn't surprise me, though to risk ones career for $300 bucks is kind of nuts...IMHO.. As far as Moon caring about the make up of the board politically...methinks u are being a bit paranoid with that idea in your head...the lady doesn't give two cents about politics at all...could care less about ones political ideas... As far as being given breaks here by moderators...I am still sitting with a negative rating. and have been chastised mucho times about my postings.. [hey guys/gals ..me thinks I have been a good boy a long time now, any relief in sight. Or have u forgot about me] I as a professed middle to leans left person...but one who wishes boils and skin irritations on the current commander in chief...welcome the few conservatives who are here... I am sure there are many more but they just don't post for what ever reason...but I feel conservatives have a hard time in defending the Donald...it is a every day soap opera with him and his spokes people since day one of his Presidency.... The man lies like a rug..not my saying so...it's easily proven...Whether it's the crowd at the ignaugeration...just look at the pictures...the government park service who give out the reports or his lieing about the "pouring over the border" of illegals....they are not.. That some manage to cross I am sure....s**"t happens...to spend $25 Billion to $35 Billion to build his what ever what he wants to call it is also wrong and American public by recent polls don't want it... plus find the man not doing a good job.
[See link below...very recent poll]This latest of government closing...working folks for no pay and having spokes people claim it's no biggie...their not being paid. The ones saying that are millionaires, billionaires...trying to relate to paycheck to paycheck folks...Thats conservatives for u... ------------------------------------------------------------------ www.yahoo.com/gma/2-years-trumps-presidency-deficit-confidence-across-government-120903845--abc-news-topstories.html

I used to smuggle alcohol into the US on a regular basis. It's not the same. A wall won't do what you want it to do.

I pay very little attention to other people's politics, but my guess is that Moon is an independent.
AS, you seem to be stubbornly denying that Drugs are not coming to the US across the border with people who are entering the country illegally. People have indicated all kinds of ways they are coming in, and you keep insisting that border agents are looking the other way so that smugglers can bring drugs in.
I agree with Desi, it seems as one big risk to your employment stability.

So every school child killed, every movie or concert goer...that’s on the pubs right... for failing to secure guns? Every one who dies from a natural disaster or forest fire is on the pubs for not securing our climate? If you really want to play that game... you are not going to win. Just FYI. in spades....

Trump business has what? 10,000 employees,, Trump knows every one of them personally!! edit: red herring.
this is the second time you brought this up.
the CEO is responsible for hiring practices. the buck stops there. period.
question: will you ever blame Trump for anything?
We have Trump now responsible for all 10,000 employees like he personal hired each one,,,, Yet,,, We had Hillary, one of the World's smartest Lawyers,,,, that did not know she should not be using an unsecured server for top secret emails,, go figure.

President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he holds his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin personally responsible for Moscow's attempts to interfere in the 2016 US election. Speaking to CBS, Trump said he would consider Putin culpable because he's Russia's leader. "I would because he's in charge of the country just like I consider myself to be responsible for things that happen in this country," Trump said. "So certainly as the leader of the country you would have to hold him responsible." www.cnn.com/2018/07/18/politics/trump-putin-election-interference/index.htmlGot it! So, according to Trump, Putin is responsible because he's the leader of the country. And Trump can't be responsible for his own organization?

Are you seriously trying to equate illegally falsifying documents to hire immigrants for below standard wages to sending an email? Sub standard pay? how much were they being paid? and 2. sending and receiving top secret emails that could jeopardize National concerns, is less than hiring illegals? Who falsified the documents? you wouldn't mean that the people that filled out the job app, might not have listed the fact they were illegal, when they give you a fake D.L. and S.S. number?
