I am in such a funk. I don't feel like doing anything around the house. This kitchen remodel is a debacle. We still haven't decided on cabinets. The lighting lady is coming Friday to help us with lighting layout and we will make a decision to get that done. Then the ceiling can be put back up. Kids are going back to school next week. We have all their school supplies purchased. Kids have eye doctor appointments next week. Kids are getting haircuts today. We have had a broken window in our house since last March. Finally made the call for someone to come measure on Thursday (can't take window out) and get that fixed. I need to clean our house. It is such a mess. I'm hoping to find the energy Thursday/Friday this week. Especially since there are people coming in to do things. So embarrassing. I need to keep up with this tread, because it really is motivating to read the progress everyone is making. Girl, I totally understand. We’ve been living in perpetual construction since 2016. (We added on to our house and have renovated a few rooms- totally on our own). I’m so proud of the work we’ve accomplished but some days I’m so over it.

I am another one with a construction site. Had a leak between floors so sheetrock was cut to get to the broken pipes. Pipes have been replaced and now waiting for the repair of the ceiling. All furniture is moved out of placed and covered as much as possible. Hope to have my house back to order soon. Definitely decluttered a bit from my bank account so far with this issue.
Other that dealing with the above mentioned mess everything is getting back into a sort of routine. My volunteer work starts up again at the end of the month, beginning to get a few ideas for new items for the craft shows which start up next month. Received the good news that one of the shows we do is moving us inside this year. That is a better location crowd wise and we don't have to deal with a tent, heat or rain. All of which we have had the last several years.
Located a few more items to add to the donation box this week and have several books to donate to the library. Will try to drop off a few of them this afternoon when I go to tutor there. I have been staying home and working on a few little items at a time. Heat index has been over 100 for several days so any errands I do run are done early in the day. Afternoon storms have been around at times but usually just steam up the area.
Time to run the errands. Will check in when I can.

Today has been wild. I promised a friend I'd promote him in a membership group I'm in as he's looking for a job. To not be that person who just asks for support, I started by answering a few other questions for fellow members. One of the threads I commented on led to a phone call and then a potential job (for me!) which sounds amazing. Already got some responses for my friend as well, including with a total rockstar connector who will be great for networking my friend around the city he wants to move to. One of those nice karma moments Another one this week was a friend posting that her grandma was in hospice, I left an encouraging note. She reached out and wants to hire me for an event and launch this fall and we had lunch together to go over details yesterday. My parents are visiting tomorrow so this evening will be 100% house cleaning and tidying mode. I have two colonies of ants in the kitchen (normal sized and giant ones) which I keep killing. If I can get everything in good condition today then I can focus on the quilt this weekend - I have the last 3 columns laid out and I'm joining them slowly. Excited to see that it's almost done!

Extremely hot and humid this weekend so inside work is happening. Working on 3rd load of laundry. Have a pile of random things for donation: tote bag, 2 pairs of curtains, clothing, etc... We are sprucing up one of the guest rooms (new bedding, art work) for someone coming in October. DD2's baby shower is coming up, doing a few things for that. They want some baby photos so looking for them. I re-organized our food pantry and had to get rid of 8 cans/bottles that were pretty far out of date. That annoys me when I buy things we don't use. Finally starting to get red ripe delicious tomatoes from my tiny garden!

Got my front yard and patio sorted. Now I spend all my days watering! Before: After: I also have two Hiroshino cherry trees planted in the front yard, for future shade:

Beautiful finnimeI'm getting boxes from the basement to the garage. I haven't made much progress on going through those boxes. I have a trash bag 1/2 full. I won't get much done this week as it's not only cleaning week, but I'm going out of town from Thursday to Saturday. That means I have to be ready for the cleaners by Wednesday and hope Lucy doesn't do too much damage on Thursday and Friday morning. I do intend to fill the rest of the trash bag by the time it goes in to the trash bin on Monday evening.

finnime WOW that is gorgeous. Last summer was my year to be living in the construction zone with ripping up all the flooring in the kitchen and then getting new flooring everywhere but the bedrooms. There were also new doors plus all the painting. Last summer still give me nightmares. All of you living in construction it will end and it will be better. Today I have been decluttering weeds in the garden and it feels good. Work has been redline stress mode for several weeks lately and I finally cracked on Thursday. The boss is working to get some of the load off loaded to other people. Now to try and get the house back in order but for now it feels good to be outside.

Finnime that is a gorgeous transformation.
DH spent some time outside today. Not done but looking better. We need to decide what to replace the landscaping out front with. Several homes have transformed it into a terraced flower bed. I think we are leaning that way. It would eliminate the need to haul the mower around front for two swipes.
I'm still hoping to get a Goodwill box together this weekend. It's all in one spot I just need to do photos for tax purposes.
One thing I did a few months back paid off. I bought a bag for a baby shower this morning. Of course it wasn't big enough. I was able to easily find a replacement bag since I consolidated all of the gift bags, tissue paper and boxes into separate containers. I would have preferred a baby themed bag which is why I bought one but I made do.

Great job finnime! I had another Open House today and am nearly done with the top for quilt #2. Went to the fair with my parents yesterday and, to my great shock, my rainbow quilt won first place! It also got a ribbon that means I can enter it in the next state fair too Can’t wait to pick it up on Monday and hang it at home.

Wow Finnime!! Great Job!! Been doing some maintenance cleaning. Bunches of laundry. My accountable list is in my purse. When I do something, I cross it off. . I seem to be adding more than I'm crossing off. . Step by step.

Been getting things cleaned up for the cleaners.
Tomorrow it's time to run the Roomba since I now have everything moved off the floor. I've been bringing things in the house from the garage to go through.
Still have to clear off the side table and pack for my trip. I leave on Thursday and show is that night. Hope to get there in time for a nap before showtime. At least it's in a small town (about 10,000) so I can get too lost. I pulled up the seating chart today and there are a ton of tickets left.
I contacted the VIP people after they sent the schedule for Kent. I explained I had sold the Kent ticket but not access to the Meet and Greet. I asked if I could pick up the VIP merchandise where I am going and they said yes. I told them I am not asking to do the Meet and Greet there. I just want the merch.
So I have to fill the half full trash bag in the garage tomorrow. That should not take long.

Finnime your yard looks great! That’s quite a transformation.
Yesterday I walked my dogs, got a mani/pedi went to the bank & grocery shopped, walked my dogs again. Had to give one dog a bath cause he had poop all over his bottom. Walked the dogs again so dog could air dry. DH came home & said his Mom invited us over for dinner. His cousin & family were there too so we had a nice visit.
Today I walked the dogs, worked out. Came home was going to sit in the backyard with the dogs, so I ran downstairs for a diet pepsi and realized one of my dogs had diarrhea. Cleaned it up, took dogs for a walk, and realized it was the one I gave a bath yesterday b/c I could see his fur stained. Came home and gave him another mini bath. Went downstairs and realized the drawer I keep soda in, in my basement fridge had ice/water again. Took everything out of drawer, washed it down, washed all the cans, dried them and put them back. Then I decided to clean the rest of the fridge, so I washed the drawers & shelves & tossed some food.
I went outside and decided to do a bit on my ongoing garage project. I had a 6 foot folding table in the garage. I opened it out, wiped it down and stored it in a basement closet. Before I stuck it in there I sprayed a bit of bug spray.
Pulled a Halloween costume from when DS was in grade school off the shelf and another box of halloween decorations and added to goodwill in my car. Also a box of blue mason jars. Went downstairs and pulled some Christmas items DH previously refuse to let me donate and added them to the goodwill pile.
DH came home, told me he as hungry, so I got out the hamburger and he cooked while I walked the dogs. While we were eating he told me he wanted to fix the dryer vent in garage. We gad to clean a shelf off, and he self initiated moving a table saw that was part of the stuff I am trying to put away. He then proceeded to purge a bunch of stuff from the garage. I have a car full for Goodwill and his Truck is full of electrical fixtures -He said he was going to give them to someone. I should now be able to put every thing on shelves. I am going to buy 1-2 and move stuff around to gain some storage efficiency. I still need BIL to pick up Tonneau cover so I can utilize shelving in front of Mustang.
This week I have to try to clean inside house b/c Mexican Fest is next weekend and we will have friends from Chicago visiting. We usually meet them there but I like to have the house clean just in case.
Got a load of laundry going. DH folded my towels last time I walked the dogs. Gotta go move wash to the dryer.

bean29 - Sounds like you had quite the productive weekend! I am starting to look at cleaning the garage like De cluttering my closet - it is an ongoing project. I think listening to Peter Walsh's book really helped me. I keep telling myself we don't need more space, we need to de clutter what we have so it fits the space we have. Maybe I said it out loud, as DH started looking at the stuff in the garage and purging stuff. DH and I own our house, a rental and his office building. His parents have their house and a rental. Their rental will be put up for sale soon and Dh is working on ours right now, and will do a bit on the other before it goes on the market.
We have a lot of tools and plumbing and electrical supplies in our garage that many home owners just would not have. I am going to keep working on sorting like stuff together. DH has a few old doors in our garage that he will need to get rid of, but I should be able to park in the garage by labor day weekend (possibly next weekend).

I did not get the Goodwill box together. I did get the downstairs/main living area under better control. DH assembled the new side table.
I got the bench I brought home from grandma's moved to the entry way. I wanted a table for that spot but this was free. It fits and it serves the purpose of holding keys or stuff that needs to go out the door.
Most of the stuff from the big party has now been put away. One recycle bin is stuffed full of cardboard. The other bin will be full by Wednesday night.
The kitchen table has been unburied. I can now see what needs filed, shredded, what we are keeping for a bit and so on.
I think some areas of our house are too small but I think there is more we can do to declutter and better organize without spending a lot of money. The kitchen storage space definitely does not work.
I'm out of town the next two weekends so my goal is to not let incoming stuff pile up again.

I've just come inside from the garage. Two bags of stuff are in the trash bin to be recycled and two boxes broken down to be recycled.
I also have 36 soda cans from dad's to take to get the nickel deposit back.

Last time they talked about it they were up to about $5000 or so.

I don't think it is that valuable anymore (we don't have deposits in WI), so I will toss aluminum in the recycle bin. DH gets really mad at me if I do it, but I don't like having bags of cans taking up space in the garage.
Dropped my Goodwill items off on my lunch hour.

I wish they would get rid of the deposit. It comes up every year in the legislature. Nobody wants to take the damn cans. The place in dad's town went broke dealing with the cans because the reimbursement is so low. There's a couple of the places that gave people IOU's for the cans and never paid, so they have been charged with theft. Dad considers this my "pay" for taking him places. I have a box that holds 36 cans very nicely and neatly. He does clean them or I wouldn't do it. I will get $1.80. That doesn't start to cover the cost of gas. I will ask my nephew if his school collects them. The parochial schools does but I won't give my cans to them as I don't agree with some of the fundraising efforts so they can't have any money from me, even $1.80.

Maybe you could work out the mileage for $1.80, stop when you get to it and ask if he's willing to walk the rest! Lol

Organise den a) Get closet renoed b) Purge junk and put away rest c) Paint room sort of, I painted the inside of the closet4. Clean junk/clutter from kitchen hutch.
Cleaning the kitchen hutch didn't take that long but for some reason it was a big deal for me! Yay!!! That is a big one off the list. So the list is as done as it's going to be before Friday, the closet organiser and shelving unit are going to have to wait. On top of this list I have also had my faux brick backsplash removed and the space redrywalled and the girls bathroom downstairs got a deep scrubbing. I'm a happy camper.

So, I took most of my clothes to Iowa, leaving behind only comfy clothes to wear while I'm recovering from surgery come Aug 22nd. Then I canx the surgery last Wednesday and now I have mostly loungy clothes here in Delaware. lol. I also have four loads of laundry sitting on the bedroom floor from before my short trip to the Midwest. Tomorrow, I'll do those and see what I actually have in the clothing inventory. I did stop in to Lands' End to get some tshirts. Ended up getting two tshirts, one pair of shorts, one pair of regular jeans, and two pairs of pull-on jeans. OMG! I'm in heaven! Jeans haven't felt that comfy since I wore maternity jeans 17 years ago. I just really love that none of the jeans are digging into my stomach. So many jeans nowadays, even the high rise, hit right at my fattest part and it's so uncomfortable. These don't. It's great.
Saturday is looking like decent weather so I may have a small yard sale on the front porch.

finnime -- love the transformation. Great job!! Just a quick update. * Room still has furniture covered and out of place as I wait for sheet rock repair. Scheduled to start next week. *Laundry and dishes are up to date. *Finished one of the major beading projects. One last project to finish from retreat and a little work is done on it at times. *New earring design is finished and several pairs are in the works just in time for the craft shows. *One of the outdoor with the tent venue craft shows informed me that we are being moved to an inside location. Definitely a better spot as previous location was away from major foot traffic at the show and no need to worry about heat (last year was close to 100) and rain. *House is pretty much in order. Trying to keep things in place. *Continuing to add items to my donation box. *Several books have been donated to the library for its fundraiser. Still have a few more to drop off. Doing a few at a time is easy since I am not making a special trip. Also donating four or five at a time does not force me to go to a different location to drop off the books. Upcoming Activities:
*Hair appointment -- tomorrow *Maintain progress *Volunteer work starts next week as does two craft classes I enrolled in. *Add one item to Etsy *Continue work on current projects *Handy man returns -- Monday *Doctor Appointment -- Tuesday *Tutoring -- Several hours -- several days *Meeting -- Tuesday *Re-pot several plants *Water outdoor potted plants -- several times *Tons of other items.
