Here’s today’s list. I’m also getting my hair cut and colored today, so that’s a two-hour process.

You ever have so much to do that you just take a nap? Yeah, that's been me lately. My house is clean enough to get us to Christmas, thankfully we don't do any hosting. I had been finishing up the last of my homemade Christmas gifts so my house looked like Hobby Lobby exploded in it. We are baking Christmas cookies tonight with the kids, so I had to get my kitchen cleaned up anyway. Now I need to sit down and organize the pile of receipts from the last week of last minute shopping. I keep a sheet of what I would've spent vs. what I actually spent (love tracking my deals), so I can get two running totals every year. I love seeing how much money I save, plus it helps me set a budget for the next Christmas based on what I spent this year. If I can get this done today, I will be a happy girl.

Took a day off and finally cleaned up DS's room. I have been using it for the overflow of my stuff. Moved all my clothes to my closet and decided to purge some. I also started packing some things for my trip to my niece's wedding end of January.
Washed the bed covers and his comforter. Need to dust his table and mop the floor and I will be done. He will be home tonight for 2 weeks and we are looking forward to that.
Hope everyone has a great holiday season.

On track with 8 tiles done in the bathroom and several more removed. I also picked up the towels and bath mats for staging today and aside from a plant or two I don't think I'll need to purchase anything else (hopefully!).

I'm glad you were able to get that done saveinla . How is your friend? Enjoy your DS. This week (updated)
- Shitepile/Tues
Finally!
We are doing our usual tradition of Jewish Christmas Eve with DS3 tonight (movie and Chinese food). There are only 6 of us for Christmas Day tomorrow, since DS1 + co are in the UK.
I still have to vacuum but I'll do that at the last minute so Bunny can stay out of his cage for longer.

Hi! Just popping in to wish Everyone here a very Merry Christmas! There will be a lot going on here today & tomorrow. Today we're making Scandinavian food, plus attending church, and opening one gift. Tomorrow is the traditional food (turkey, stuffing, etc.) and opening the rest of the gifts, and of course Christmas stockings.

ETA: Visibly I am being SUPER lazy lol.
Oh, I wasn't too busy yesterday. And I didn't do anything work related from Friday afternoon through Monday morning. I only worked on school stuff probably two hours yesterday. DD#2 and I even got in two episodes of The Crown!

List is underway! I can’t use the bathtub for 24 hours while the epoxy cures.
1. Re-paint the master bath paneling (white) - half done 2. Touch up walls in master bath and guest bath (blue) 3. Lay new tiles in the master bath (Dec 20th) 4. Cut back the rose bushes for winter 5. Glue down all of the transition pieces (again) 6. Fix the porcelain chip in the bathtub 7. Paint the gold trim around the bathtub (white) - in progress 8. Replace the torn tile behind the toilet in the guest bath 9. Touch up ceiling paint as needed 10. Clean up all of the pots and containers on the side yard 11. Power wash the side yard, front porch and house siding 12. Do another coat of paint on the garage doors (if I get 2 dry days) 13. Ask my cousin if I can store the Cadillac at their garage in January 14. Finish packing the garage and neatly stack the boxes 15. Work with realtor on staging for photos
ETA: 14 out of 60ish bathroom tiles are done. I have another 10 or so full tiles and the rest will be cut to fit but I’m on track with 5 per day to get it done.

I'm glad you were able to get that done saveinla . How is your friend? Enjoy your DS. Thanks for asking debthaven. He is still hanging on, but not much improvement. They say his body is functioning, but his brain is not. He is not able to follow any of the doctor's orders. He may be moved to a long term care facility later this week or the next.

Hope y’all had a good holiday! I have a few more coats of paint on the bath trim (it’s thin and taking ages to cover) and more tiles to install on the floor.
I’m very close to finishing the rows on the quilt so I can measure it and get the backing material tomorrow, if I have time to take a picture and upload it I’ll share here soon!

I hope everyone had a great holiday! We had a lovely Christmas. DS2 + GF arrived late on Christmas Eve and just left this morning. I emptied the dishwasher and switched out DS2's/DS1's bedding again. Now doing laundry. DS1 + DGS come back on Sun. One of DH's closet shelves is too full again, so I want him to go through his shirts and t-shirts this weekend. DH does NOT do the one-in, one-out rule ... Some of you may remember we spent months looking for a round extendable DR table. We ended up buying a folding wooden tabletop extender from an elderly couple for 10 euros ($11). That really was the best purchase ever!

We had 3 fun, family, food filled days! Today I am alone in the house to decompress, DH is working. I will work about 6 hours tomorrow. The weekend will be pretty free for clean up/organization. My sister and I discussed how each year we decorate/display fewer Christmas items so we challenged each other to get rid of what we haven't used or what isn't really sentimental.

You know why I hate cleaning the laundry room in the winter and eschew that chore? The room was originally part of a garage. When the garage was converted into a living room (what we call the napping room) and the laundry room, they didn't insulate the laundry room. Three of its walls are outside walls. It's freaking freezing, Mr. Bigglesworth!

Had a lovely, though somewhat bittersweet Christmas with all my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at my son's house. We missed my DGSIL who had to work, but otherwise spent 2 days worshipping at church and eating, drinking, visiting and opening gifts at DS2's house. It was great fun watching the little GGSs open gifts and play contentedly with them for hours. Missed my late DH terribly but having my family around helped a lot. Today I'm getting things unpacked and getting ready for a brief trip this weekend.

I'm glad you had a good Christmas with family vetswife . Knee Deep in Water Chloe might it be worth getting an estimate for insulation? Even if you could only do 1 or 2 of the outside walls, it would help. Our house is really badly insulated so I feel your pain. Super quiet day. I finished laundry, printed out Job 1 stuff for Semester 2, and set up new 2020 files for DH's company. I still have more prep but my student classes don't start until 8 Jan (Job 2) and 13 Jan (Job 1) so I have time. (My staff/professor classes start on 2 Jan.) Then I took a 4-hour nap. If it's not raining tomorrow I want to go for a long walk.

I also need to start learning my lines for the next play (yeah, the one I said I was skipping this year). I give up a class in Sem 2 when I do a play, so I can't mess it up. The good news is that I was second lead last year. This year I only have a supporting role (the biggest of 4 supporting roles but still much fewer lines to learn). Tonight I counted how many pages I'm on compared to last year. - Last year I was on 58/66 pages - This year I'm on 34/77 pages That should be doable! But I should definitely get started, because memorizing lines isn't easy for me anymore. I also need to think about my costume. We share costumes with the International Lycee but surprise, I'm bigger than the HS students. I wore one last year but it was super uncomfortable and I would rather not have to do it again. The women in my troupe all share clothes for costumes but alas I'm bigger than many of them too.
So I just ordered a pair of navy pants. I don't own any so that's fine. I'll also need a navy skirt and a light blue shirt. Hopefully I can find a shirt in the sales (which start in Jan here) and borrow a skirt. I'm happy to pay for 1 or 2 items/year for costumes if I can wear them again.

FINALLY replaced the tile behind the toilet bowl. Since the new one has a different design it took ages to template and carve out the replacement. The trim around the tub is coming along, I need to go do another coat tonight. Tile in the other bath is good, I’m almost done with all the full tiles and will start on the cut ones.
My quilt is SO CLOSE to being done, I have edges to add that I’m sewing now and picked up the back panel piece and batting today. Hopefully I can lay it out and pin by this weekend and then start sewing on the machine.
I also finished the certification today for work and will wrap up everything I need for that tomorrow. I am planning to do some training webinars in January to get new clients so content and scheduling stuff is coming too. The person I’m working with on those won’t be back at work until January so I’m hoping to be ahead of the curve.

I'm off today, I went to the storage unit and loaded up my car. It'll be empty by Saturday night. The kitchen chairs will replace ours for now. The wooden ones that go with the table are all falling apart. They are over 50 years old. I'm not sure if we can find any place that can repair them.

That's great about emptying out the storage unit wvugurl26 ! Less Stuff, and more money each month. This weekend- prepare Job 2 binders/Sat
- change our bedding/Sat
- Quickbooks/Sat
- supermarket/Sat
- DH's closet shelf/Sat
- pharmacy/Sat
- donation bin/Sat
My Job 2 binders are all set. I have everything printed for my Job 1 binders but they're at school so I'll update them when I go back on Thursday.
Something leaked on the basement pantry shelves so I had to clean that up. It appears to be a six-pack of tonic. The six-pack is intact, plastic wrapping and all, but it's empty. So weird. ETA: DS1 wanted a couple of DH's old shirts, and I put a small bag into the donation bin. At least everything fits again.

Everything that was out of Christmas is still out and most will be for several more days as I usually don't start putting the items away until "Little Christmas" or Twelfth Night. In this area most of us grew up with this custom and many of us still follow it. Then comes King Cake season and the beginning of the festivities for Mardi Gras.
I just updated my numbers and did break the 1000 mark for the year. Still have a few days left and hope to add a few more to the total before the year is over. Earlier this week four large boxes/bags left the garage storage location and were picked up by one of the local charities. Moved an empty box into location for future pickups.
Spent several days/hours with friends and family which was very enjoyable. Still have too many goodies in the house but I will finish them up a little at a time. At least one delivery of cookies went straight into the freezer. That way I will pull out one at a time. The cookies I baked were 95% given away so those left here will be finished soon. Managed to reuse several containers for the ones I gave away. I think I may only have 1 or 2 containers left. And they may be used in a future year.
I treated myself to a movie the other day -- had a GC so OPP was zero. It has been a while since I last went to the theater to see a film. Saw "Knives Out" and really recommend it.
Yesterday was my semi-annual checkup. He was pleased and no medical tests were ordered so I am elated.
Currently working on laundry and just general house chores. So the usual. Buzzer just went off so I will check in later.

Yay on the check-up moneysquirrel , and on breaking 1000! We saw Knives Out on Christmas Eve and really enjoyed it too! We also put the tree away on or close to Twelfth Night. This year it falls on a Monday so we'll put everything away on the Sunday instead.

It has been a while since I checked in. There isn't really any progress to report other than barely keeping up with daily living. Mom is requiring more and more of my time. It isn't really caregiving it is just helping her keep with with her basic daily living. Things like getting the mail, putting out/bringing in the trash cans, changing light bulbs, bringing things up and down the stairs for her etc. She gets out some and drives herself some places but for some reason like me to take her grocery shopping. Probably because I carry all the bags into the house and help her put things away. The latest curve ball thrown my way is I am trying to declutter some rats. I could hear them chewing in the walls just before Christmas. The pest control person was out yesterday and found where they are entering the house. For now I have two bait boxes outside and one in the garage. I also removed the bags of walnuts and hazelnuts that were in the garage that they had chewed into and were helping themselves. The plan is to leave the bait boxes out for a month or two and thin the herd so to speak then seal up the hole. We are hoping to not seal up any of them under the house. This year I put up minimal Christmas items and hope to get them put away this weekend. I am fighting a cold so that may or may not happen.
