Ouch mollyanna58 ! This week - Classes 1+2: 35 tests/Mon - pick up package/Tues - pharmacy/Wed - Class A: 20 final reports/Wed - Class B: 14/19 final reports/Thurs (stretch goal = 10)Stretch marking goal achieved!!! DS1 is on his way home so done until Sun when the kids have left. I only have 5 reports and 24 finals left. So happy I "powered through" two-thirds of it! Then it calms down till the "real" finals in 2 weeks.

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Hope the holiday finds everyone well and happy.
I'm out of the decluttering game for the rest of the year. I took a fall a couple of weeks ago and fractured my tibia and a couple of places in my knee. Non displaced so no cast just crutches, limited weight bearing and lots of time. Vacation was great, but I'm a bit bored since I'm back since my mobility is limited and I can't work much. Don't feel bad for me, I'm making lemonade out of lemons. I haven't had this many nights sleep in a row on a regular basis in my entire adult life. I actually feel pretty good.
Luckily I spent a lot of time and effort organizing the Christmas stuff before it was stored last. It will be fairly easy for the family to haul the bins from the basement and set things up. I do think I may tone it down a bit from my usual over the top decorating though. DH doesn't know it yet, but we're starting this afternoon. There isn't a single useful thing I can do at the bakery until I go in on Monday and do orders so I'm going to take advantage of having a 4 day weekend which never happens for me.
So Thanksgiving dinner is all prepped, the oven is heating and I'm enjoying our traditional holiday beverage-hot chocolate and Rumlemintz.
I'm grateful to have so many friends in real life and on this board who are always there for support or suggestions or a joke or a smile or a hug or a listening ear when the need to vent arises. You are all part of my "family."
Happy Thanksgiving!

Yikes. DS3's flight was 2h45m late, so DH and I picked him up at 11.50 pm and got home at 12.35 am. The airline offered DS3 a tidy sum to stay overnight and take a morning flight instead. He called me to ask what he should do. I said, it's a significant sum for a college student, so only you can decide. I understand if you want to accept their offer. In the end DS3 refused it. There are only 2 flights a day with that carrier. If ever the morning flight was cancelled, he would have missed the party. So my DS1 and DS3 are FINALLY home!

My goal, today, is to help my niece go through her clothes and get rid of the stuff that doesn't fit and/or she doesn't wear. Like, she has six or seven pairs of jeans but wears only two. Her logic for not getting rid of the other pairs: "But then I'll have only two pairs." My response: "Dude, I've been here a month and seen you wear only two pairs. Get rid of the ones that you don't wear."

I have had a very relaxed holiday here, my parents came up to see family so I kept their dogs for the day. I have been sewing furiously trying to see how much fabric I need to fill in the quilt. 3 of the 8 sections are complete and I’ve started putting them together but it’s going to take some time.
There’s not much left to declutter but I do need to pack the garage and have been procrastinating on it. If I can box stuff up and sell the chest freezer I’ll be in good shape for spring. I am hopeful that when I put the house back on the market I can move the Cadillac out of the garage.
Next weekend there’s a realtor who is giving me a virtual walk thru of a property I want to buy but all the pics online are old. I would love to be moving this year but it’s not going to happen.

I hadn't realized that either Startsmart. I had an AMAZING birthday. Mainly local friends and theater friends. All my kids were here. I sang with DH's group. I cried several times LOL. It was truly a magical evening. I am SO SO blessed. My kids sang to me. My friends all sang along. It was truly magical. At one point my DS2 was dancing with me and my theater friends. He knew some but not all of them. I told DS2, these people are my homies. DS2 started crying saying how happy he is that me and DH have such wonderful homies. It's 4 am and I know I'm very emotional but it was one of the best evenings of my life. There was just such an outpouring of love. Every time I lost it, one of my kids pulled me aside, and said, it's just like you always taught us ... you get back what you give.
My DH absolutely rocked it, he organized/shopped/cooked, and played, and even wrote me a song (a duet, so I sang it too.)
I feel so immensely blessed.
I'm so lucky to have my family, my friends, and my theater troupe. And I'm also so lucky to have all of you.
So thank you all for always being there.

Tomorrow is clothes shopping for the niece with her and her mom.

Happy Birthday, debthaven. Sounds like a fabulous party and so happy that you were surrounded by all your family and friends. TheOtherMe -- Still keeping you in prayer. Hang in there. You have done all that you have the power to do. Hope you Sis will come to her senses soon. (But don't hold your breath.) startsmart -- I also did not know that you took the house off the market. Hope that the spring will bring the sale that you need and that you find the new home that meets all your desires. Hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving. I am very grateful for all of my virtual friends on this board. Need to get my day started. I seem to be easing today in. House is up to date and my list of things to do today is small so I am taking my time to get started. Will check in later.

Aww Knee Deep in Water Chloe me too. DH took DS3 to the airport this morning while the cleaner and I cleaned and put the furniture back. The house is back to normal except for A's glasses which need to be returned. I did nothing today except put things away and write thank you emails (ongoing). Weekend list - put house/furniture back/Sat
- pack up + put away our glasses/Sat
- put away table stationery/Sat
- put away serving dishes/Sat
- pack up A's glasses/Sat
- thank you emails: rounds 1 (individual gifts)/2 (band)/3 (UK cousins)
- thank you work (other campus)/Sat
- call DH's aunt/Sun
- bottle bank/Sun - take DS1 to airport/Sun - DH Quickbooks/Sun
- thank you emails round 4 (group gift)/Sun - thank you poster work (my campus)/Sun
- MSc 1: mark 13 finals (stretch goal) - MSc 2: mark 11 finals (stretch goal)
It's the last week of the semester! I'll still have faculty/staff classes, meetings, and 83 more finals to mark but my student classes finish on Wednesday. I can mark those finals next week. So I'm now on a reduced schedule till 13 January (with 2 weeks off for Christmas)!!!

Glad you had a lovey birthday debthaven!
After the house buyer backed out in October we went back on the market and got another low price offer. I was just 100% done with people and keeping the house perfect so we took it off until spring. Leaving it on the market for 6-8 months would only invite lower offers.
The other big deciding factor was my work, I couldn’t really focus on work when I’d have to leave constantly for showings (and didn’t really want to do it over winter) and since I had 3 new big clients start in November I needed to be fully present. I’ll have 2 more new clients next week but I’m working on a plan for the month when the house is back on the market.
I didn’t mention the house to a lot of people because it was pretty depressing and I had a few weeks of feeling like nothing would ever work out.

Earlier in the week, we had a decent day of weather so I was able to clean up our garage enough to get our outdoor stuff stored away for winter. In the process, 15 broken toys/random junk items were tossed!
Total Items Purged to date: 1,129/2,019

This weekend I've tossed three cloth napkins and three socks that each had holes in them. The socks are a normal purge, but the cloth napkins were actually my grandmother's. She passed in 2004, so I've had them 15 years. I have three remaining, but it was still hard.
I also put eight articles of my clothing in the donation pile. I've purchased at least eight articles in the last month, so that's not really a purging as much as a trade-out.

I'm glad you enjoyed the party debthaven. I know you were stressed over it. I'm happy it turned out well.
I'm back from visiting my family for Thanksgiving. I need to deal with all the packages that have arrived. And decorate for Christmas. DH put one tree up. It needs more lights and ornaments.
I did get a pile of stuff shredded. I finally did it at the last minute yesterday.
I sold another item so I need to drop that off at the post office.
The laundry is never ending of course.
