xmas, I'm LOLing at the Iris one. I always remembered him from "Love is like a rock." Funny about him. He lives in my town and we have mutual friends, so I see him all the time at parties and Happy Hours. He's a nice guy.
Now I'm going to have to think about One Hit Wonders. I know there are some really great ones. They're just not coming to mind right now.

I don't know how to insert the videos, but here's a link to a live performance of "Love is like a Rock." I can't believe how young looks!!

Nick Gilder "Hot Child in the City" I totally blast the radio and sing when this song comes on. As a matter of fact, I have it programmed as a favorite so my satellite radio beeps to alert me whenever it's on.

I have been drooling over Johnny Depp for such a long time... Off to google-to see if I'm right.

Appears that I am wrong.
Anyone know why I would relate that song with the original "21 Jump Street?"

Imani Coppola "Legend of a Cowgirl"
This song was popular the summer I worked retail, and it was on our store mix. I put it on a mix CD of dance songs that I still listen to when the weather is nice, and I want to roll the windows down. It's such a sassy song.

Michael Penn "No Myth"
I have a few of his albums. I really like his music. It's a shame this song was the only one that really hit.
Malarky, I have no idea why the "21 Jump Street" reference. But I didn't watch the show.

Marc Cohn "Walking in Memphis"
He's another really great artist who is still making music, but, sadly, this was his biggest hit. Another song of his that I love is "True Companion." So romantic. We had it played at our wedding.

Dee Lite...probably one of the top one hit wonders. I was expecting so much more from them, and then...

I love "No Myth." That and "Walking in Memphis" are both on my ipod. I was updating stuff tonight and discovered I have 1007 songs. Seems like a bit much. I have very eclectic tastes in music. I am just as likely to play Irish folk music as Katy Perry.

Me too. I really love music. That's one reason I love satellite radio. There's everything you could want. I listen to everything from the 40s stuff like Billie Holiday to current music. I'm very familiar with a lot of music that was technically before my time, but I'm an old soul.

I also love Walking in Memphis, but that is not really a one hit wonder. The Monster Mash is a one hit wonder.
I think you ladies should be posting on the tunes thread, ya'll have some mighty fine taste. That would be, "you all"...later and enjoy. I love people who love music. This is a little introspective...

I'm never sure about some of those songs. There are some artists (Marc Cohn being one of them) that I personally don't consider one hit wonders because they're still out there making good music, but they really only had one song that hit it big in the main stream. Which, I guess, shows what crappy taste the majority of listeners have in music.

To be clear, I like what I like and I dismiss a lot of what others like.
Do you know anyone else who's favorite Stone's song is this?

I think that's a lot of people. I try not to dismiss until I've given something a fair shake, but I know I do. Right now I'm really into some new groups that sort of remind me of throw backs to the acoustic rock in the 60s and 70s like Fleet Foxes, The Head and The Heart, Bon Iver ... I can't call any of them one hit wonders because I don't think any of them have had a main stream hit yet! Nope. You're on your own with that.
