[quote author=dancinmama board=wir thread=5836 post That's when doing a rebate from time to time helps out. You can recover your OOP from your sales tax and fillers. I still do that even though my OOP is paid for on GCs. I really should take all of my WAGs rebates and churn them back into GCs just to see how long I can keep the "no OOP" cycle going. Dancin: That's what I've been doing with my SCR from Rite Aid. I used to deposit all the rebate into one of my accounts. Now I take part of it and add it to my giftcard. This year I've spent a total of $22.74 at Rite Aid, but got back $121.45 in rebates, so I'm ahead $98.71. I have over $10.00 left on my giftcard so will have to try to stretch it out until the next check arrives. It makes it easier to shop too when you don't have to keep digging for money when doing multiple transactions. I keep a tiny Post-it attached with what I have left on my card. The last time I paid cash at Rite Aid was early in February. When I get the Neuragen rebate back, I'm going to put half of it on a WAGS card for when they have a really, really good deal. Most of my WAGs purchases are for little OOP and then I use up the RR on things we use regularly, like canned mushrooms or TP. I have a giftcard at CVS too that I'm trying to see how far it will stretch. I don't find too many rebates there, but did do the PF rebates, so maybe I'll take half of that money and add to my giftcard.[/quote] rubyslippers: Yes, somehow when I have a gift card where I got the money on it for "free", I can give myself permission to spend the OOP - even if it is always (well, I guess after today I have to say USUALLY) low. When I have to put out "cash" I seem to have a harder time. On the other hand, it seems silly to put cash on a GC that can now only be spent at a particular store.

I ROYALLY messed up. I apologize to anyone who might have taken my tip that Physicians Formula is BOGO this week at RA. I have vision problems and I wasn't able to see the smaller print that it applied to Bronzers only. I was embarrassed at the register, because I had planned overage from the PF that I would apply to my other items, lowering my OOP. It's hard to think fast when you have something unexpected thrown at you. So, I am SO sorry if anyone else did a transaction based on my tip.

RITE AID SHOPPERS: BEWARE!! Both the Polygrip and the Tena were rejected by the register at my store. Luckily the cashier knows me well and pushed them through. SCUNCI $2 EXTRA UP (MONTHLY DEAL) IS NOT PRINTING. RITE AID IS GETTING SMARTER. Also, I hate to be a couponing Debbie Downer, but I had problems AGAIN not only with the MCs (pdfs), but also with the register rejecting some of my UPs used. During the transaction, the register gladly took them, but then at the END of the transaction added their value back onto my total saying that they were "not accepted". It happened on one transaction with one of the $3/$15s and on another transaction with the a $2UP. My cashier bent over backwards to help me and voided out the order and rerang, but then of course the register said that the UP had already been used. She pushed them through, but had I tried to use them with another cashier at another time it would have been a no-go. In the end, I bought the EXACT same thing trying to use the EXACT same coupons in two transactions (2 Tena, one Neil Med, 2 Polygrip, and 2 Scunci). On the first transaction I was charged $.55 in sales tax so I could not use my last $2.50 Tena coupon and I paid $1.99 in OOP. On the second transaction I was charged $3.14 in sales tax so it allowed me to use my last Tena coupon and my OOP was $2.08. On the third transaction I bought (2) Tena and (2) Polygrip (for my mom). I was charged $.83 in sales tax. It would not allow me to use a $2UP that I had (at the end of the transaction it said that it was "disallowed", but my OOP was $2.79 so based on past experience, I should have been able to use it. My strategy at Rite Aid has always been to wait for an item that is FREE after coupon AND giving UPs and to rinse and repeat as many times as possible based on the stock available and the limits. Then to take those UPs and roll them into other deals that will give me a profit in UPs until I can spend UPs on SCR items. If I cannot calculate my OOP in advance, however, I cannot be assured when I walk in the door what I will pay and that just doesn't work for me. Today I paid $6.86 in OOP (it should have been around $2.42). It's okay because I spent it to get SCRs so it will still be a HUGE MM for me, BUT if it had happened two weeks ago when I rolled UPs into the Doctors Nightguard, it would have been a HUGE loss. That is waaaaay to much in OOP to pay for products that I may not need. Oy - sounds like a rough shopping day for you Did your MC pdf's beep?

I believe that deal is DEAD and it only worked for the Californian's, who get to start the ad early. leanna: I think that RA has gotten smart on the "double dipping" of getting weekly AND monthly UPs at the same time. The $2UP on Scunci is reported to be a monthly deal, so I "assume" that the $2UPs will print on these again starting next week. Hmmm...that would be interesting. Another site I go on suspects that the so-called monthly Scunci deal was set to just be a weekly deal. Either way, I can't complain, because I got 2 free Scunci's today (after UP's) and I use those regularly so I am

This coupon says you can't use it on Carefree 20 or 22 count, but it didn't say you couldn't use it on the 18 count! It does beep, but that's because it's not coded for any particular product I think. But YMMV - if you're going to use this coupon, try to go to a cashier that you know who will READ the coupon and not hassle you.

The whole coupon beeping thing is crazy. Earlier this week, I went to my smaller RA, and I tried to buy the Physicians Formula "try me free" mascara using my $5 pdf. The coupon beeped and the casher tried it twice. Then she handed it back to me and said "It says item not found." I was tired so I didn't ask for a supervisor or anything. I just asked her to take the mascara off. But I'm going to go back to that RA tonight or sometime this week and give it another go. Despite "studying up" on coupon coding, I still have coupons that beep that shouldn't and ones that I expect to beep that don't.

FrugalSuz thanks so mug for.physicians formula at cvs. Other sites I use gave mc but not the $5 IP you posted. If not for that I wouldn't have bought any. On two cards I saw a $24 profit. I was planning on addingin another $20 in rebates. But rebate form says include try me free label. My packages didn't have that. Will rest of package from mascara be good enough?

However, I got home and discovered the TMF had expired in 2009. I was so upset with myself. And the print on the TMF is so small you practically can't read it. I won't make that mistake again.

I refer to the WAGs deal - buy $10 worth of participating P&G products and get back $3RR. If your products comes up to $9.99, will the $3RR print? I just hate it whenever I am couple of pennies short but I have yet to 'test' the system. Anyone did?
Also, another question - is the 9 large rolls of CHARMIN TP a good deal at $4.49? Any one know what's the equivalent regular rolls in 9 large rolls? I usually buy 12 double rolls at $4.99 (with $1 Q, of course)

If you are comfortable throwing something else in at the last minute, or canceling the entire transaction if it doesn't work, you could test it. Mine was a math error when they refused to reduce my $3Q to $2.99.

Here's a bit of a drive-by post. CVS has a Kellogg's Special K monthly deal going 4/1 to 4/31: Special K cereal or bars - 3/$10, get $4 EB. Limit 5 On the Special K site there's a $2/3 bricks.coupons.com/Bstart.asp?o=83359&c=SK&p=lhCwy3cqThat makes these 3/$4 after coupons & EBs. These bars are DH's favorite, so I will be stocking up Great deal, Sam! Thanks for posting it.

suziq,
I bought 4 scunci today. I received 1.99 & 2 Ups for 2 and just 2 Ups for the remaining 2. SaveinLA, Were the Scunchis that you bought "BOGOF doublepacks?" (36 CT). I think that may have something to do with it. I'm going to try to buy another one tomorrow, and see if I get the double ups. suzi, No. They were just regular 18 pks. The store that I went to was a new one for me and they had only the single packs. There was an email from RA that said the deal was on any scunci elastics. So it's not just the double pack. HTH My thinking is that it was paying double UPS on the "double packs."

suzi: I have been investigating why you got the $2 extra UPs on the Scunci and this morning I found the answer in the MONTHLY SCR thread on HCW. This week's UPs deal overlaps with a monthly deal ($2 UP for each Scunci). I am looking forward to finding them this morning. Thanks Dancinmama! This made me glad that I got to do the deal twice on two different cards: One for me an one for DH. $16.00 in UPS afte spending $8.00 in UPS is not half bad.

The WAGS FREE 8"x10" photo today only (see my previous message this morning) was no tax when I just picked it up! OOP: $0.00! Like Suzi says: "There's nothing better than free!" I just love FREE. Way to take action, and get the deal, Jennysmom.

Thanks for letting us know, Dancinmama. I haven't gone to RA yet; I will go tomorrow. I hope that there will be stuff left. I couldn't go this weekend because we were out of town for the DD of some good friends of ours. We went to San Marcos, Ca. for the beautiful wedding and stayed overnight until today. We got back at about 2:00, and I headed straight for CVS for my newspapers. I tried to buy them in the San Diego area, but they were about $1.89 each!I decided to come back and buy them in LA County. Anyway, when I went back to my CVS at home, the newspapers only had 1 P & G, and no SS!!!Oh Well.

I hate it when good things come to an end. I am convinced that "chatter" on these larger and more active websites like Hot Coupon World get back to the main office and they fix the "glitch, LOL DRAT, DANG, DARN!

I couldn't go to RA because I didn't have the time, and my RA is across town, a stone's throw from my job.
I will stop by right after work tomorrow.

Will rest of package from mascara be good enough? bluesclues: No, do not send it in without a TRY ME FREE sticker. Perhaps you can find them on one of the products at Rite Aid (if you have one). Yes, Blues, you have to have the sticker. My packages didn't have them, so I have to find a couple more.
