Where did old duffer go and where did the Long term Investor thread go?
I liked to lurk and occasionally posted on it. I found the wisdom contained within quite useful!

"What happened to The Long Term Investor"
I decided to briefly return to answer this question. I will delete this membership once this post is up. I am NOW posting on a site called Stockaholics, under the "Investing" forum. The thread is called.....The Long Term Investor......DUH. The thread continues to get the usual 50 to 80 views per day.
NO......I am not advocating for or encouraging anyone from this forum to move over there or leave this forum. I have debated with myself whether or not to even do this post. I have been a member here, or on the forerunner boards at MSN, for 23 years. Forums evolve, that is the way it is. NOTHING wrong with that. This forum has evolved to one that is vastly PROGRESSIVE females talking about topics and opinions that are NOT of interest to me, especially the politics and views of the country, the world, old white men, society, culture, heritage, etc, etc, etc. THAT is fine, as I said boards evolve. When a forum gets to the point that it is frustrating and irritating to an individual, it is time for THAT PERSON to move on. SO......I moved on. This is NOT criticism of the board, it is just how it is in the world of forums. The active members set the tone and content of a forum. "I"...... asked for ALL my threads and posts to be deleted when I left since there was still MUCH personal information in those posts and this being the internet, and with the MASSIVE schism between about half the country today and the other half, I was NOT interested in having any personal information SLOSHING around on the internet forever. I CONTINUE to be FULLY invested for the LONG TERM as usual. |

I’ve moved on to another forum where a difference of opinion isn’t cause to be abused by nasty women and the mods are neutral. I check back on occasion because I’m concerned about a poster. |
