Well, he may not go quietly, but the 25th just means the show he is unfit.
Impeachment would be based on corruption, treason, obstruction. Demonstrating that could take a whole lot of others down too.
Those others maybe working on the 25th

I would think the Secret Service would be the group to do the investigation.

If there is even a true resistance of more than one person, how do they have access to the President's office without Secret Service people manning the entrances? Would ther not be 24 hour vido of the office at all times? Why not check the video tapes and see who is removing things from the desk? Easy Peasy, or it just ain't happening......

Supposedly anonymous is a WH staff member, the SS wouldn't stop staff members from freely moving around the WH. I remember when Omarosa worked there, the other staff members complained that she would just walk into meetings (including in the Oval Office) where she hadn't been invited and didn't really have a dog in the hunt.
I think the best thing for Trump to have done was to state he was certain the anonymous ob ed was more fake news and immediately move on to something else. By trying to find who might of written it actually adds credibility to the idea that this was actually written by a staff member and not by the newspaper itself. Mounting a witch hunt inside the WH for the author just demoralizes and frightens his staff. The whole story would have gone away a lot quicker if he ignored it.

Exactly. His actions pretty much validate the oped. And keep the story going. He’s his own worst enemy

i have no problem with that per se. here is where this argument falls apart for me, tho: ok, so let's say i am lying. why would i do that? what could i possibly gain from lying on an ANONYMOUS BOARD this is one of the few places in my life that i can not only feel free to state precisely what i think, without any repercussions, but i can be FULSOME about it. if i think your opinion stinks, i will tell you. and likewise, if i am certain about something, i won't hold any bars letting you know it. why should i? what is there to gain? so, the doubt of this says to me that some people here bullshit constantly. and i have to say that i just don't get that.
so, VB: are you bullshitting me? are you deceiving me and everyone on the board? because if not, why would you assume that i am bullshitting you?
the utter lack of reciprocal belief is utterly strange. if you don't believe me- why should i believe you? and moreover, what is the point of any of this?
"if i think your opinion stinks, i will tell you. and likewise, if i am certain about something, i won't hold any bars letting you know it. why should i? what is there to gain?"Just keep in mind there is the C of C and a few moderators lurking... the moderators have no say in outright abuse of OPINION. only INDIVIDUALS.

Thanks for the explanation. if you think i am "happier" because i am being "truer to myself" or some such nonsense, you can forget it. no, i am less happy for TWO reasons: 1) i have no party i can call my own. no party who represents my POV. that kinda sux. 2) the DRIFT in the GOP is HORRIBLE. it's bad for them, and bad for the nation. i know many will disagree, and that is fine. it's just my opinion. #2 is, anyway. #1 is a fact. and it is a fact that makes me feel as alien as any "illegal".

GG, There are only two people elected that serve in the White House area President Trump VP Pence to a lesser extent. Everyone else serves at the pleasure of the President. He has a right to know who his traitor is, and to dismiss him, or her. Has nothing to do with a broken law. If you are working there and not performing as well as possible for your boss, you should be removed. You had no problem when all the other people left the first year who were creating havoc in the White House. Why the change of thought now?

I DO have a problem with using law enforcement when no law was broken. The Justice Dept and SS are not his private goon squad

I read so much yesterday that I don't know where I read this, but the writer who wrote the piece I read really thought it could have come from John McCain. Now that would be poetic justice I think.

His base is very loyal...I believe the only media they watch is Fox... I can't call them out as I watch CNN exclusively with a bit of foreign and occasionally MSNBC too....but I believe CNN with all their slant left also have their resident Trump supporters as a balance and they are allowed to speak their mind...plus there is the Donalds own words that one can hear..CNN broadcasts his rallies.. I have tried to give Fox a shot and his pretty ladies with the stilettoes leaves me cold...can't see them slogging anywhere to get a story... Hopefully the anti Donald faction will get out and vote November as I know the trumpettes will be doing their thing...as far as expecting trumpettes switching away from Donald supported candidates...don't believe it will happen ...so a very big turnout is needed...fingers crossed.

Love to sit in to that polygraph..... [Don't believe that scenario since newspaper says they know identity and as much as editors would love to have played along with such a letter from the deceased ..don't believe they would]

For the most part , it seems the SS is pretty closed mouthed about their charges...even after they have left office and when agents have retired..Don't believe any afterwards type books from retired or no longer active agents. ==================== Actually after posting the above , did a quick google....and guess what...found a very interesting site...yes a book of impressions of SS on our first families...both rumors and the truth...suggest read...believe u will find entertaining.. [Nope nothing on the Donald...he's still current , but I can guess...LOL] ============================ "An insider’s view from the Secret Service agents who were assigned to protect the President and their families. The op-ed reminded me of this: Trump's advisers reportedly pulled a fast one on him to prevent another international blow-up at the NATO summit
Ahead of the NATO summit in July, President Donald Trump's advisers were worried about another clash like the one that took place at the G7 in early June.
To head off a potential showdown, White House advisers pushed NATO officials to finish a final agreement before the summit even began.
Trump was only shown a broad outline of the directive, rather than the full text, which officials on both sides of the Atlantic praised.
www.businessinsider.com/trump-advisers-nato-summit-communique-2018-8Then he arrived, had his little hissy fit and all the adults in the room secretly laughed to themselves. Jets off to meet his buddy Putin and then....our President says this: "While I had a great meeting with NATO, raising vast amounts of money, I had an even better meeting with Vladimir Putin of Russia,"
abcnews.go.com/Politics/president-trump-putin-meeting-summit-nato-allies/story?id=56640142
I somehow feel a little better after the op-ed came out. I'm glad there are people in his administration that realize how dangerous he is.

I agree and for the people criticizing the unnamed source of the op ed piece...from both sides, including our former President just yesterday, Obama, as well as CNN commentators...this is not how our government is supposed to run, unelected making decisions for those who have been elected to make these decisions...they are correct, but they are also purist... There are times u need folks who play down and dirty...get into the trenches, even occasionally the gutter to protect our interests. For me , this is one of those times....Right now the checks and balances our founding fathers put in are not working...for many reasons...most because of yellow streaks and desire to stay in office no matter what....Since they are the majority party both houses...have the muscle, I blame the GOP. It's not always that way...with Nixon, many members of his party did the right thing...google Loew Wicker from Ct.

I think it's too sad to play the blame game.....we the people are to blame! This is a man who says "since we have nukes, why don't we use them" and we the people elected him. I believe they also know if they made a move on him, it would tear the country apart. I also believe several people in his administration knew or are in on the op-ed. The piece regarding the NATO summit clearly shows they are there reassuring our allies, the op-ed was written to reassure the country. Maybe after all, he does have the best people working for him, just not in the way he thinks.

but still having questions...that is enough to disqualify him for that office and for those who come to his defense..."it is ok to consider useing such weapons for a little war, a nation disagreement, example Syria, Afganistan, Pakistan, and such....."why have em if can't use em…" they need to be slapped silly.

Satire from The Borowitz Report Trump Demands to Know Who Put “Entering Crazytown” Sign on Oval Office DoorBy Andy Borowitz WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Donald J.
