I had to figure out what they were talking about. He did fist PUMPS, where he puts his hands in the air like a celebration. To me a fist bump is when two people make a fist and tap them together, usually in lieu of a handshake. At least to me.

Looking at the picture with the article, I'm not 100% sure what he's doing, but whatever it is, it isn't appropriate for a solemn occasion.
With that face, it looks like he's sucking lemons...

Didn't watch trump. Did he tell the crowd he won the electoral college, Hillary should be in jail, and the economy would be back to what it was in late 2008 had he not been elected?

Let's not forget he bragged about his Trump Tower now being the tallest building after the planes hit the World Trade Center.
What an arrogant, insensitive putz!

Let's not forget he bragged about his Trump Tower now being the tallest building after the planes hit the World Trade Center. ... (FWIW, it wasn't actually Trump Tower but 40 Wall Street). And of course it wasn't true: Trump's claim that his building was then the tallest in downtown Manhattan wasn't accurate — the nearby 70 Pine Street building is 25 feet taller than Trump's 40 Wall Street, though Trump's building has four more stories. link

Interesting article regarding trump's claim of dancing Muslims in Jersey. Trump’s outrageous claim that ‘thousands’ of New Jersey Muslims celebrated the 9/11 attacks

Donald Trump claimed that he helped in the clearing of rubble in the wake of the 11 September attacks that tore a hole in the New York skyline.
“Everyone who helped clear the rubble - and I was there, and I watched, and I helped a little bit - but I want to tell you: Those people were amazing,” said Mr Trump. “Clearing the rubble. Trying to find additional lives. You didn’t know what was going to come down on all of us - and they handled it.” Mr Trump did not explain how precisely he helped, however.

What an ass. Unless you were there during, they really vetted clean up efforts. Most people in NJ just ended up sending supplies and money because they were really trying to lock down the site. Bridges and tunnels were very restricted for awhile as were trains, etc.
I wouldn't be surprised if Trump did what many NYCers did the first few weeks or so - bail to friends and relatives in NJ, NY state or elsewhere.

It just shows in spite of being the reality TV President, he is so used to editing and spin, that he forgets he needs to be on point or very close in some situations. 9/11 memorials would be in this category just like funerals, meeting world leaders, etc.
Notice his wife and everyone else in the pic seems to understand that.

He helped? Lol! I guess it's like his claim that he would run into a school shooting situation. Trump only cares about his own shoe-leather hide.

I assume those are secret service men in the background giving him the stink eye?
I would hate their job. I would have to really think twice about throwing myself in front of a bullet to protect someone who walked into a memorial service acting like he was going to one of his crazy ass rallies.

I saw a meme of this picture last night where Trump had a toy airplane in each hand, and a toy robot head pulled over his head, with a circle cut into it for his face.
I'd try to find it and post it but I'm 100% sure it would violate our COC when it comes to elected officials. You can imagine it though.

Mine stopped showing me how to do anything. "Mom, it's a waste of time". My 80 year old father was asking me how to do something, so I sent my 16 year old daughter over to show him. I had no freakin idea what they were talking about. My Dad has always been a technology guy, but he keeps his knowledge narrowed to his interests.

RCP and two other sites that survey the house races have Democrats at +16, now. there are a couple of other sites that show it in a dead heat, and one or two more than show D's behind. i am keeping the odds of R's winning the Senate at 5:2, but Democrats are still making gains in the states they need to win, with the possible exception of Heitkamp's seat in ND. edit: i forgot to mention that the Generic Ballot is also still moving in favor of Democrats. they now stand at nearly 49%, which is just shy of their high for the 2018 season, and +8.3% over R's. this is a very good number. anything over 50% is a slam dunk (the survey of survey's has about 10% undecided).

i am lowering the odds of the GOP retaining the senate to 11:5, and raising the Democrats odds of winning the house and Trump getting impeached (but nor removed) to 11:5. this is based on stronger polling for Democrats in Montana and Arizona. the generic ballot polling is stuck at 49% for D's, their best number in 2018, and second only to December of last year, when they were fractionally higher.

Mine stopped showing me how to do anything. "Mom, it's a waste of time".OK. Now that is a challenge and can only be handled by a very clear. Great I am glad you will be doing it for me going forward. Whether that needs to be accompanied by a stern look or a very pitiful one depends on how you will get your way.
My sons are a little smarter, they just provide step-by-step tech support whenever I ask. The help will come from whoever is awake at the time since we live on three different continents. But I never have to wait long

the generic ballot numbers continue to improve for D's. the recent FOX Survey (which is a first class poll on this subject) has them at +7%, which is a very good number for D's. D's also hit a 49.2% generic polling average this week, which is the highest number for this election. NOTE: the same is true for the GOP. they ALSO have their highest numbers of this election cycle, at 41%, and they have closed the gap slightly (about 1% in the last month). this reflects people "making up their minds" in the last month or so. the undecided vote has gone from 18% about six months ago to 10% today.

Thank you for getting the thread back on topic. I appreciate that. I really do not have a feel how this election will turn out. Without Trump running and being the ultimate wildcard it is hard to tell. I believe, like President Obama, President Trump has no coat tails, so it looks grim for Republicans. I guess I had a feeling after all..........

Without Trump running and being the ultimate wildcard it is hard to tell. I believe, like President Obama, President Trump has no coat tails, so it looks grim for Republicans. I guess I had a feeling after all.......... this looks more or less like standard regression to me. it is typical for the party in power lose by 5% in the first midterm over the GE. since Trump lost the GE (in terms that matter for the midterm), one would expect about an 8% loss this cycle. whether that is enough to flip the House due to the gerrymandering done in 2010 remains to be seen, but it appears LIKELY to me that this will happen. the real race is not the House, imo. it is the Senate. if Trump can hold onto it (likely), he will make it to 2020. if not, all bets are off. edit: RCP has the House at D+17 now. 538 is far more daring, at D+37 (D+17 is at 10% probability for them). i would point out that i have been more conservative than RCP since 2012. therefore, i would predict that Democrats will take the House, but just barely. a lot might happen in the next few weeks that would either make me fall in line with RCP OR with 538.
