So far all I have bought is one candy bar. It did help we had snow the day after Christmas so I couldn't get out.

Yes and no. (giggle)
I haven't been to any brick-and-mortar stores (yet) seeking out post-Holiday discounts, but I did order three sweatshirts online (on clearance) that should be delivered any day. That's three really comfy warm sweatshirts for under $26 (including tax and shipping) ... that I really wanted. I am sure if I'd gone into the store looking for them I could've found more things to buy, so this feels like a victory.
I did receive a $50 Target gift card from my wonderful DH's dad (DH got a $100 Home Depot gift card) ... but we're waiting until my wonderful DH comes home in February to do that shopping. (Which is probably best, otherwise I'd be half-tempted to use the gift card on paper towels and kitty litter, and how festive would THAT be?)
We pay our credit card off in full each month. And our next billing cycle closes on January 10. I'm kind of waiting until after than (January 11) to do any more un-needed shopping ~ so I can keep the balance around where I want it to be. Of course, if I see some amazingly wonderful can't - pass - up deal .... I just might be tempted. (grin)

I picked up some gift wrap at Target but that was it. Haven't seen anything I must have.

Still trying to organize all the tree lights and stuff to box them back up. Post Christmas sale I am looking for a new netbook. I refuse to spend more than $200.

Yep... so far.
Mom and I went to Goodwill today and bought a linen shirt for $2.95 so that we could try out a new cutting needle set on my embroidery machine and, other than groceries, that's all we've purchased since a couple of days prior to Christmas. I might go out in a few days and see what's left of the wrapping paper...

I did go to sears but I received a gift card for there from work. The bathroom scale died about 2 weeks for Christmas. Actually that was kind of nice then I didn't worry about how much I was stuffing in my face. We picked up a bathroom scale and a new mattress pad. Both were on sale. If I didn't have that gift card I would not have gone shopping.

Impressive. I have to be careful to not buy too many chocolate bars even if they are on sale. Turns out I'm not good at saving them.

I bought NOTHING. (However) I was drafted to be a pack mule for my wife's trip to the after Christmas sale. It ended up her buying 3 little items & Chocolate. Lots of chocolate. My estimate would be a two year supply of chocolate for a normal person. It will last her a couple of months UNLESS she & her friends get together & have coffee & chocolate. If they do that then I'll probably be tasked to go to the store for more. I don't mind. I feel that if it wasn't for chocolate most of us men wouldn't live long enough to reproduce. Sure I could be wrong but I'm not taking any chances.

i'm guilty of not resisting.
i bought some lotion at bath and body works. it's a discontinued scent that they bring back once, maybe twice, a year and it was on sale 3 for $10 or one for $9.50 (and i'm slightly embarassed to admit that i'll probably use my bath and body gift card to buy some more. it's my all-time favorite scent). i bought 3.
i have $20 in kohl's cash that i will be using for socks and a new shirt. i also need a new laptop and we need to replace my husband's ipod that was stolen out of his car, but these are planned and budgeted expenses.

I stopped at the grocery store on my lunch hour Monday and picked up a canister of chocolate covered pretzels for $2 (I really liked the canister) and a nice kitchen towel for .99. I figure the longer I stay away the less temptations will exist when I do start looking at stuff. There truly is nothing I need. My apartment is small and I don't have a place to put something new. I'm working hard to remind myself of this because I love Christmas decorations and would have many more if I had the space for them!

So far I've resisted. I used to get soap/salts/lotion sets when they'd go 60% + off, but now the most the stores take them down is 35%, they're cheaper before Christmas than after. Now that DS makes them I have no reason to go buy any. I've also still got a ton of cards/wrapping paper/ribbon and ornaments, so no need to buy any of that this year.

Mrs.Lynch, thanks for mentioning Kohl's cash, I had forgotten mine. Unfortunately this caused me to spend some money but I did get great deals on 2 fleeces that my growing boys did need. I got merchandise originally priced at a 156 for all 3 and net price was 31 after sale, Kohl's cash and 20% off code. Not a bad savings

No, unfortunately, I have very little willpower when it comes to after Christmas sales! I spent $20 ish at Target the day after Christmas (and that was after about $40 in gift cards ). Yesterday I spent $40 ish at WalMart. I really needed very little to replenish my wrapping supplies. I needed NO paper but have already bought several rolls! And I'm waiting for it to hit 75% off so I can go look again! What is wrong with me? LOL!

Yesterday, I went to the mall to exchange an overcoat for my son. On my way out, I noticed Bath & Body Works were having a pretty good sale (up to 75% off). I spent about 30 minutes in there 'shopping' and was very proud of my self when I left with nothing! I am trying to reduce wasteful spending this year so that I can fund my EF - gotta keep my eye on the prize.

Yea, I don't have the $$ to spend on Christmas stuff. I know it is cheaper than dirt right now but I have so little storage space. Along with trying to save $$ I am trying to clean this house of mine, declutter........all that good stuff.

I'm broke so it was easy! The nephews? Not so much. They went shopping yesterday and, of course, DN#1 found ornaments he just couldn't resist and DN#2 found the Reese's Christmas Tree candies he loved. All that said I did miss it. Wrapping paper should never be bought before Christmas but after it! Ah well, I still have plenty for next year.

I went to Penney's yesterday with my CC points GCs with the intention of finding sales on gifts. I used it on me! This is the time of the year I stock up for my personal needs like socks and sleep pants, etc.

I resisted because I can't use half the Christmas stuff I already have. I did buy an additional tablecloth to match the one I bought before Christmas. I had to buy a new one because I had to add leaves. I will have to add another one next Christmas because everyone was rather squashed and we are adding another new grandchild. I thought we would layer them.
Other than that, I bought two kitchen towels (so I could use the $5/$15 at Bed, Bath, and Beyond), a set of gift stickers, two potholders (75 cents for the set), and SIX boxes of Ziploc gallon size bags. They have a Christmas imprint, which doesn't bother me, and I had a coupon so they were less than half-price at Walmart.

So far so good! But I have a planned shopping trip with a couple of GFs for dainty items. The items and trip are my Christmas gift to the one GF, she got a breast reduction last month and needs new items. I'm very worried about my self disciplne once I get out there.

resisting wonderfully so far. only been to grocery store and drug store. don't need anything. If I can't get it from grocery store or drug store, forget it right now. If I need clothes, think I would shuffle down to Goodwill or Salvation army. This year is going to be a humdinger living expense wise.

I stayed away from sales this year, because after I got home from vacation, I made my mind up to get everything done, one at a time I've been putting off for the last 8 months. There are so many things I can still donate, toss or give away that with the exception of buying Tim Horton's coffee, at the present time, I want for nothing.
