Remember to call before the year is up to negotiate your deal again. I have to call every 6 months to keep my deal.

Isn't this silly we have to keep doing this......why don't they just lower their price and be done with it ? Who knows, maybe some people just continue to pay it.....but I"m not one of them.

I paid the full price far too long because I didn't know I had to play the game. However, Sirius/XM is on most of the time I am awake and always in the car, so it's worth the money to me.
A friend told me what to say and it's worked every time.

I forgot to call for too long. I work at a cubicle and I don't like making those type of calls from my desk. I forgot on my days off or was busy.

That is something we pay a fortune for is Sirius, we have it in 2 vehicles and a portable unit we use in the motorhome or hubs uses in his garage. So costs us almost $400 a year, you can get it for less?? He is saying once the penalty expires we are dumping Dish, but he hears all his news programs on it. We can get them on the free channels but a day old. I doubt he does that. I'm home today working on taxes have to take them in Monday, want to see if they are together, so not spending anything.

Call and select to cancel. Tell them you are canceling because it costs too much. They'll offer you some sort of deal.

I also have Sirius radio in my new truck, but waited until they offered me the $5/mo special after my 2 month trial period expired. Back from a long weekend at the ocean. I saved whenever possible: ~Used CC points to upgrade my airline ticket to first class. SO worth it. ~Used the Hertz Gold discount for the rental car. They also have a 50+ (cough cough) discount, but the Gold was cheaper.
~Bought groceries and booze for the condo so I could eat most meals in. ~I brought several magazines for reading material. Because I ended up having 6+ hours in delays , I read all of them and ending up buying a few more for the return layover. ~Dad and I went to several places, but stuck to appetizers.
~Instead of tossing any leftovers, I bagged up what I could to bring with me to eat during the long layover. Two boiled eggs, blueberries and pecans hit the spot. ~Today is Accounts Payable day. Our home electric bill is $60 more than last month due to space heater use. The company is supposedly installing the boiler today. I'll believe it when I see it. ~I bought groceries before I left last week. I only saved 14% according to the receipt, compared to my usual 25% average. The only thing I can think of is I bought a few HBAs and a box of baggies there since I didn't have time to go to WW before my trip. Example: One smallish box of Ziplocs is $3.99 at the grocery store. We usually buy a large 4 box case of them at Sam's for $10. HUGE difference. Oh, and about those $5.99 kalamata olives?? Need to make sure they are on sale or I have an e-coupon.

~Used CC points to upgrade my airline ticket to first class. SO worth it. I agree! I'm hoarding AA miles so I can go to Europe in Business Class next year. Yesterday I was shopping for ingredients for King Cakes for the church Mardi Gras celebration teh week after next. The filling includes pecans. I ALMOST cheaped out and bought walnuts and then saw that if I bought pecans I'd get 30 cents off of gas at my next fill-up at the grocery chain's gas stations. Sold! And I'm gonna make sure I ran the tank down to fumes! The cost of ingredients will also be deducted on the taxes, of course.

DH ordered the part online and repaired the parking sensor I damaged in December. Saved me the several hundreds the dealership would have charged us, I'm sure.

Had a $5 off $5 purchase coupon at Kmart. Got some paper towels ($1.50 out of pocket) and a coupon for $5 off $10 purchase good tomorrow (need to see if there is anything else I could need at half price). Had fuel rewards at two grocery stores, but only needed one fill-up before they would expire. So, filled car at one to use the rewards, and converted the other rewards for the other store, into $2 off the bakery department and got a free loaf of French bread. Found a cool old "breakfast" or "bacon and eggs" cast iron skillet at SVDP. I've always kind of wanted one, but they are old and hard to find (at least here). This one was $10 (found the same one had sold on ebay for $62+ shipping last year). Paid $10 for mine, and have already had an offer from someone wanting to buy it from me! I'm keeping this one though

I had bought a fancy electric skillet at Sams, it didn't work but 2 weeks. I took it back and got my $100 back, so today I bought a $25 one at Walmart. Used it for dinner and it cooked fine. The thing can even be put in the dishwasher, I couldn't believe that. So I think my cheapie may be better and I'm $75 better off.

I had purchased some new slipcovers. I was going to add an area rug. I tried one of the slipcovers on the loveseat. Color was good. Did not like the fabric AT ALL. So, the slipcovers are going to be returned. The savings, I didn't buy a new area rug. (Still need an update in that room, but I'll plan better).
Took DH to Hobby Lobby for some model paint. The good part, the items he wanted were on sale, and we had a 20% off coupon. The bad part, DH shopped and bought a few extra items that...well, oh well. Did the grocery shopping this morning. ONLY bought what was on the list. Had coupons for some. Wasn't disappointed in the pricing. Savings 22% and earned rewards.

DH and I went to the big city to see niece2 perform a solo, so we did errands while there. I used 2 gift clothing store cards from my birthday, spent a little more than I would have liked, but will return a pair of grey slacks which don't work for me. I dropped DH off at Home Depot before I went shopping. Other than the slacks, I got everything on my replacement list after my large closet purge last fall.
I was peopled out after shopping and navigating parking lots, so I decided we could skip Sam's Club for another month. We also used half of our Applebee's gift card received at Christmas.
We filled up on the way out of town using DH's value points for .40 off a gallon.

Much to my chagrin, I discovered yesterday I am nearly out of my favorite soap. I had planned on making a special trip to WW, but later decided I'll use something from our guest bathroom toiletry stash. That will keep me from purchasing anything until payday. Hopefully.

I bought a pair of progressives on Zenni last year. I wasn't fond of them because I had trouble lining up the bifocal part, but they were ok. I just did my yearly refractions, and I aced it.
And then the frame broke, and I went back to a previous pair. I really can't see now. I am actually going to Costco for my next pair; I heard they were reasonable and did a good job. But I also need a backup pair. So I just spent $13 to replace the frames on the Zenni pair. They gave me a free shipping code although they weren't under warranty. The representative said it was easy to put the lenses in the new frames, but there is also a video online.
I was very pleased that I thought to ask for the free shipping code.

Took our down comforter to the laundromat instead of the discount dry cleaner. Dry cleaner cost last time: $32. Cost to wash and dry at laundromat: $6.25

We got 2 bottles of laundry detergent from DH's sister. She got a new set and needs the high efficiency detergent. We do not. It would probably be okay for me but DH is going to use it up on his clothes.

I placed several online orders in the last few weeks, but they weren't cheap.
I bought 2 new pair of jeans at NYDJ. I had heard about them, but balked at the price. They were 50% off, and I bought 2 pair, one faded and the other dark wash. $130. I have found a new place for pants, these stay up. I'm calling this a win.
I bought 5 pair of underwear from Duluth at <gulp> $14 each. These are to replace the 8 pair I bought at VS before Christmas and I have put holes in 4 pair. $78. Another win, I like them so will gradually be replacing all with them.
View Your Deal or Steals and Deals (can't remember which one) had Murad for 50% off. I bought 3 new tubes of my moisturizer for $84. This should last me a year, and it's perfect timing as I was down to my last tube of it. Best I've done on this has been 20% off.
I would have bought some Bombas too, but being on the west coast, by the time I heard about them they were all sold out......dammit. Best socks ever.

DH and I made a huge batch of spaghetti sauce, portioned it out into meal-size helpings and popped them into the freezer.
Paid off the HELOC loan a month early. Saved a bit on the interest. Another drop of $ into the savings.

I think the dog shredded the sheets. They didn't have a tear in the middle when I put them on the bed last week. However, they are probably 12+ years old so probably pretty thin by this point. Anyway, I ordered nice new ones from BBB today. On sale and with a coupon, they were $63 all-in with free shipping. Then I redeemed a $50 American Express account to help pay for them. Nice sheets are a luxury that I feel guilty for, but I love, love, love nice sheets. You just sleep better on nice sheets.

We went to Costco today for new glasses. I wanted us to both have a good, updated pair before we no longer have the FSA account.
DH wears trifocals. With the titanium frame he picked out, his came to $150.
I wear progressives and high index lenses. They also offer polished edges which make the thickness less obvious by the earpieces. That is only $10 more. Those were $250. Then I took advantage of the $40 off a second pair (had to be the same prescription) to get a pair of prescription readers. I like to read in bed, and it is difficult to line up the progressives.
All three pairs were a little over $500. I can't tell you how many times I have spent almost that much (around $450) at places like Lens Crafters after AAA discounts, etc.
Now to see if they are as good as friends have told me. The guy seemed to know what he was doing as he was measuring.

Saved $58.26 at the store last Friday shopping the sales, and using a few paper and e-coupons. Will take the online survey to add 50 fuel points in order to push me over to a 20 cents a gallon savings. Used a $3.50 coupon at WM this AM. Was running low on makeup removers for several weeks so was tearing them in half to make them stretch. Combined business and personal errands last Thursday to save on gas. Once again asked DH if there is anything in his garage we can unplug to save on the electric bill. Per my post last month when I thought I was out, last week I discovered I had purchased a 6 pack of my favorite soap a while ago. I had stored them in a different place for space reasons. Glad I didn't buy more! Continuing to use up freezer and pantry items. Over the weekend I made Irish American soda bread, brownies, and overnight oats for DH.

Office savings: For years I've used re-manufactured toner (those things are expensive when purchased new!). Well, much to my chagrin, Sam's online does not have the one I need in stock. Just ordered it for about twice as much on Office Depot online, but it's still about 1/3 of the cost of a new one. I used my rewards points, and I ordered a box of printer paper. Free shipping, and buying the latter saves me little tweaky visits to WM when I'm down to 3 pages left....

Walk, try the Worlds Softest Socks, they are expensive about $12 a pair, but DD and I love them. My feet are sensitive and I need soft and thick socks with no seams.
As far as underwear, pants that is, just quit wearing them. Solved our problem. I just wear them to doctors offices and to get a massage.
I didn't buy anything today, but I spent $100 yesterday, a lot of groceries, need to add up and see where I am this month. I have ordered books and various other things the last week or two, another $100. Dental cleaning and x rays were $239.

Spent Saturday in the big city: Bought a Starbucks using a gift card on the way out of town. Got my truck's oil changed and washed for "free".
Returned a grey pair of slacks that just didn't work for me. Went to Sam's Club, signed up for a credit card which I'll use for emergencies only, for $45 off my order that day.
Bought Buy One Get One 50% off t-shirts.
Bought fuel using my value card and saved .20 off per gallon. Hadn't eaten for 6+ hours, so stopped by the grocery store to buy a protein snack vs stopping for fast food. Bought several needed office items at the Dollar Tree. I'm really starting to like that place! Used a coupon for free cookie dough at the take out pizza place.

Iggy aka IG I've been getting into Dollar Tree too! I used to go just for gift bags and cards. One day my DD and I walked around and found great stuff. We bought a really nice jigsaw puzzle, which killed a few hours, and bought flowers, etc to make a wreath. We had so much fun for about $10.
