And now back on Topic. I don't see how the staff can be stunned. Trump has the attention span of a fruit fly on crack. He's never stayed on one topic, ever. Au contraire, mon frère... Anytime the subject of how great or awesome he is comes up, he can easily stay on topic.

I agree Trump is the problem. He won't be reigned in because he wants the attention more than he wants a good Presidency or even legacy. I disagree. In my opinion he won't be reigned in because he believes in the absolute rightness and greatness of his cause (himself), and he has assured himself that his legacy and presidency will be the greatest ever because he's... well... him. It's all bullshit of course, ... Agree with this assessment of Donald Trump.

(Sorry, my inner Miss Grammar Uber B*tch must point out it's 'reined in' not 'reigned in.'
This is a mistake that is seen EVERYWHERE - even in headlines for very large publications - but it comes from the reins you use to control a horse - when you pull back on the reins to make him stop, you are reining in the horse.
I think since very few people ride horses anymore or know much about them, it's evolved to 'reigned in' - but that phrase doesn't really make any sense (how would a king reign in someone? Bop them with his royal scepter?)
I know - who cares, who made you Queen of Grammar, who made you Bossypants, etc etc, I apologize profusely, but this phrase is what the kids call 'triggering' to me.
Please now feel free to pick apart my own crappy spelling and poor grammar).
(I just had to correct the spelling of grammar - three times - in my post - pot-kettle)

If we're confessing here, I also have a big problem with 'than' and 'then.'
Have to think about that one every time.
And one time, when writing a request for funds to corporate to install storm water dikes, only spelled them 'd-y-k-e-s.' Like 10 times in that one document, so I couldn't even pretend it was a one-of error.
Whet all the way up the food chain and not a single executive noticed my mistake (or they didn't read the document.)
Or maybe they thought I was going to kill a bunch of gay women and construct a storm water barrier with their corpses - and were ok with that? Monsters.
(I also have trouble with 'rip rap' versus 'riff raff.')
But it sure does bother me to see 'reigned in.'

You guys should watch Adam Ruins Everything from Monday night. At least the part about grammar. Also watch the interview with the English professor he did. She was very appealing.

Lots of Obamacare Rant Threads and Why is Obama Golfing threads mixed in with Why the Poor Should Only Eat Rice and Beans Threads.
We could try to focus on creating positive threads about the ruling party, but where is the fun in that?

There are so many, I don't even bother reading the OPs anymore, let alone the threads. I just scan the subject lines and pick one or two per week. I'm guessing that's all anyone does. I don't even want to imagine what will happen if Dezi comes back.

Additionally, may I inquire why you feel it necessary to call up the name of a poster who isn't even posting and intimate if he was posting there would be even more "problems"? It certainly isn't relevant to the subject of this thread.

That is because he keeps doing notable stuff. Distasteful notable stuff. ...only a tiny fraction of which I read about, since 1-2 anti-Trump threads per week is my limit. This week my fare was complaints about Pres. Trump's equivocating condemnation of violence, and this thread, which appears to be complaining about Pres. Trump defending his equivocating condemnation of violence. Wow. Important stuff. I couldn't have gone a million years without reading up on that. Of anything else he's said or done this week, I shall remain blissfully unaware.

It's so hard to keep up on all the Trump bashing threads!!! So little time! I give up. Life is short. Basically getting back to playing the stock markets and making some large coin right now. All this nonsense is noise with the economy running in the fast lane. Time to make some serious change. Yesterday they had an idiot commit suicide on one of the commuter rail tracks and shut down the trains for early rush hour. Commuters were using Uber and Lyft to get rides to work. Due to "demand pricing', based on demand of the calls, the drivers were posted at the $75 range for distances of about two to three miles or so, and the mass commuter riders were crying, GOUGING! One rider needed a ride to the airport. $150........ The local stations never mentioned the cab system where rates are locked in. I guess the upper class people refuse to use a cab these days. Pay the regular rate, tip the cabbie an extra $20 and come out $40 ahead. These are the type of things the liberals should be worried about, but when the liberals own the cities, it is such a small price to pay for maintaining their false lifestyles. It's easy to say this when your ancestors weren't forcefully taken from their native lands and forced into slavery, easy to say when your native lands weren't taken over by Europeans that had no claim to them. If you care more about money than you do about the fact that in 2017 there are Nazis walking down the streets of a US city chanting "Jews will not replace us" then you're not a very good person.

And who sold them into slavery? Do you have any knowledge about indentured servants brought here by their masters from England? Do they count for anything? To be honest I cannot tell you whether I have any Indian or Black genes in my history. I might, who knows? Maybe I am related to Al Sharpton and Elizabeth Warren and not even aware of it. Chances are good I have some minor ethnicities on both sides of my family through the generations. Australia is literally over run with descendants of prisoners dumped there a century or so ago. The Jewish race were forced out of their homeland too. Things happen. American Indians, I have no argument about. They got screwed, but should not have given the Pilgrims anything or traded for the trinkets giving Manhatten Island away either. Please remember the native Americans believed in slavery too. So evidently we should not hold them to such a high esteem these days either. I have no use for white nationalists, Nazi's or KKK, but unless we vote them off the island and forcibly remove them from our country, it is better acknowledge they are here and deal with them. Anti protesters showing up with baseball bats and getting literally into their faces screaming and cussing begs to have something bad happen to them. Years ago the laws of natural selection took care of these issues. We no longer abide by this issue, and that is good, imo, but yelling and screaming and poking an alligator is not going to end well either, and yet people continue to do it. Doing the same thing over and over without learning from the experience can be frustrating. Let's get real. We are all in this together, and we have to give up the emotional issues of what happened to any of our ancestors, and make decisions that is best for everyone. I do not see ordering white nationalists out of the country happening.

I think all the bitterness about slavery would subside if there wasn't the reality of racism, both current and historical, and both intentional and unintentional.

He mentioned Paul to stave off all the "yes, but Paul flooded the boards with anti-Obama rhetoric/lies", etc, so he just saved the members of this board hours of unrelenting piling on by mentioning him. Consider it a favor to our members.

Lots of Obamacare Rant Threads and Why is Obama Golfing threads mixed in with Why the Poor Should Only Eat Rice and Beans Threads.

I think you'd have to count both P&M and Current Events plus assume they are all anti-Trump threads. Also, many posters have been deleted over the years. Its not possible to get an accurate count anymore of when the most anti-Obama threads were generated. It wasn't just Paul even if he was easily the most prolific.

I've been toying with the idea of creating a "No Trump" thread where anything related to the man is off-limits. It would be a catch-all to discuss issues behind current events, e.g. the attack in Charlottesville, the attack in Barcelona, the trade war with China, North Korea, etc., without the inevitable devolution into bickering over Pres. Trump. Any post containing a reference to Pres. Trump or his office, directly, indirectly, or even through inference, would be summarily deleted. We might actually get back to some meaningful issue-based discussions. I've almost forgotten what those were like. I'd have to run the proposal by admin first.

I can assure you you're wrong. I do read the threads. Additionally, may I inquire why you feel it necessary to call up the name of a poster who isn't even posting and intimate if he was posting there would be even more "problems"? It certainly isn't relevant to the subject of this thread. I know Virgil can answer for himself, but I must say it is relevant. He mentioned Paul to stave off all the "yes, but Paul flooded the boards with anti-Obama rhetoric/lies", etc, so he just saved the members of this board hours of unrelenting piling on by mentioning him. Consider it a favor to our members. And that is the other difference. Of all the anti-Trump threads here, how many are untrue? All are sourced, and most by major news sources with some even being by conservative writers and outlets. The anti-Obama threads noted previously were generally from "extreme" or discredited sources, or were the poster's opinion, replete with fabrications or mis-characterizations of the other side. If people are weary of the number of anti-Trump threads being created, pray that Trump stops doing stupid or vile things. The number of threads would necessarily slow. But, if I may offer a word of advice, don't hold your breath.

I think your 190 threads is an inaccurate count. I did count both boards, and I'll go on record claiming the count is accurate to within 20%.

I think you are high, even at 80% of 190 threads. I went and made a count of threads just on Current Events. My criteria was it must be an intentional anti-Trump thread or be expected to contain a large anti-Trump streak because of how the topic intersects with Trump behavior.
I'm sure you count differently, but I came up with 13 on Current Events. I don't have to screen out much more than that amount on P&M to go below the 152 thread count (80%).
Here's the threads I counted in Current Events by thread title(some partial)-
Riot at Virginia University Trump tweets about “radical Islamic terror” If a Major Event Took Place Tonight Car plows into counter-protesters... Trump vacations A Vatican Shot Across the Bow... Secret Service vacates Trump Tower … BEHOLD THE ECONOMIC MIRACLE THAT IS TRUMP So... the President has been in office six months Moochie is Out! Senate rejects Obamacare repeal Priebus out Ummm...What??
