But really though, I don't think I was advocating discrimination toward groups with unpopular views.  Well, there are some viewpoints and groups that I do think need to be silenced (like the KKK/Aryan Nation type groups).  I'd also like that MGTOW or whatever the hell the women-hating group of men calls itself to STFU, but I don't think they need to be silenced, per se.  If that makes me a hypocrite, so be it.  I'm just saying, be aware of your audience and have a little sense.  That's all.

ok - here is what he said specifically about women:

Women, on average, have more
• Openness directed to feelings an aesthetics rather than ideas
• Extraversion expressed as gregariousness rather than assertiveness
    o leads to women generally having a harder time negotiating salary, asking for raises, speaking up, and leading.
• Neuroticism
    o May contribute to the higher levels of anxiety women report and the lower number of women in high stress jobs


Because as society becomes more prosperous and more egalitarian, innate dispositional differences between men and women have more space to develop and the gap that exists between men and women in their personality traits becomes wider. We need to stop assuming that gender gaps imply sexism.

He then outlines how to get more gender diversity, essentially to make it easier, part time less stressful, with the caveat that men will be disproportionately interested due to the high status/pay.

so his suggestions are

paired programming (make it social!)
less competitive
make tech and leadership less stressful
