When career employees of the Environmental Protection Agency are summoned to a meeting with the agency’s administrator, Scott Pruitt, at agency headquarters, they no longer can count on easy access to the floor where his office is, according to interviews with employees of the federal agency.

Doors to the floor are now frequently locked, and employees have to have an escort to gain entrance. Some employees say they are also told to leave behind their cellphones when they meet with Mr. Pruitt, and are sometimes told not to take notes.

Mr. Pruitt, according to the employees, who requested anonymity out of fear of losing their jobs, often makes important phone calls from other offices rather than use the phone in his office, and he is accompanied, even at E.P.A. headquarters, by armed guards, the first head of the agency to ever request round-the-clock security.

A former Oklahoma attorney general who built his career suing the E.P.A., and whose LinkedIn profile still describes him as “a leading advocate against the EPA’s activist agenda,” Mr. Pruitt has made it clear that he sees his mission to be dismantling the agency’s policies — and even portions of the institution itself. But as he works to roll back regulations, close offices and eliminate staff at the agency charged with protecting the nation’s environment and public health, Mr. Pruitt is taking extraordinary measures to conceal his actions, according to interviews with more than 20 current and former agency employees.

Together with a small group of political appointees, many with backgrounds, like his, in Oklahoma politics, and with advice from industry lobbyists, Mr. Pruitt has taken aim at an agency whose policies have been developed and enforced by thousands of the E.P.A.’s career scientists and policy experts, many of whom work in the same building.

It is becoming difficult to believe that there is a single person associated with Trump who is NOT a worthless, disgusting, POS.  Pruitt is just another example.  Don't really know enough so can't really say about Kelly or Mattis, but is there anyone else in the administration (chosen by Trump) who has actually shown him or herself to be worthy of being in government or public service?  Drain the swamp indeed.  Turn it into a concentrated chemical instead.  

Wonder if that is why he wants to get rid of the EPA?

Wonder if you'll still be saying that when there is an oil spill or chemical spill that will affect you in one way or another...and the corps who did it won't have to clean it up or pay for you to have clean water or other necessities?
Wonder if you'll still be saying that when you or someone you love is injured due to the lack of policies that EPA requires to be followed in many work places?  And whomever was the cause of that injury is no longer responsible for paying for the accumulated medical bills directly related to that injury?
Yes, we SHOULD all be held accountable for what we do/don't do to that puddle in our own back yards...cause in the long run it affects us ALL as it migrates into our water systems and/or our air or ruins soils all around that spot. 
WE need to think bigger than just ourselves, how will what I do today affect those around me or those who come after me?

 The other has copper, so no lead.

 The rental house is copper.

 My home where we raised our own babies was copper and galvanized (basement area only). The galvy has been updated to copper.

What does lead plumbing have to do with anything?

Those pipes were installed before anyone knew the dangers to health lead in drinking water posed.

Now we KNOW what's dangerous, but Trump and his cronies are plowing ahead anyway, making matters much worse.

It is not lead pipe that is what I am referring to,

It is the lead solder and the lead in all the brass fittings.

Until 1986 every plumber used lead based solder,  Even after it was banned the same plumbers had their stash of old solder they used until it was gone,

Why? because it worked so much better.

Lead was used in valves until 2014,  when lead free valve were to be used on drinking water systems.

The amount of lead in those piping systems is about as dangerous as drinking water out of a garden hose,

Are you still talking about Flint? Because it had nothing to do with lead solder... the pipes themselves were made of lead, which became a problem after they changed the water source to a much more corrosive one.
