Bought a used car this past weekend. Dealer forgot to collect my $10k down payment.
I know I will pay the $$...but...wow! How do you forget to collect $10k?!?!

My plumbers snuck out and forgot to bill me and I owe a lot. I'm putting it in savings until they figure it out. If they never do, I'm fine with it. They did a half ass job.

I can beat that. I closed on my new house and nobody asked me for a check. After we all had shaken hands, I got the keys and coats were being put on, I finally said... "Umm did someone want my money?" The looks on the faces around the room were priceless. I'm surprised that they didn't faint on the spot

Close friends of mine put up a new steel building on their rural property. Hired a local contractor and ordered the building through them. My friends had to pay for the steel building with a cashier's check at the time of delivery to the site. The building was erected and my friends were not billed for the labor. They shared with me their wait and see attitude about receiving the bill.
After 3 years I quit asking if the bill had come yet. These people all go to church together in the same small town. I can't imagine looking across the aisle in church from someone I owed $20,000 to.
But, the older I get, the less inclined I am to fix other people's financial mishaps. Putting out a bill is a big part of running your business.

We had a roofing firm repair some shingles that were literally sliding off. (Some of you will remember this.)
It started raining about the time they left, and we weren't sure if they were through or not. It looked ok from the ground, but no one asked us to sign anything or give them any money.
A couple of weeks later, we had heard nothing. We called the company. They checked and called back to say, "Yes, it's done. The bookkeeper is busy, but she'll send you a bill in a week or two."
It was about a $500 job so obviously unimportant in their scheme of things.

I have given up on "church people". I used to look up to them, thinking they were better people then I. Well that has changed, all these people around us supporting trump and his bunch of crooks and bums has certainly changed my ideas. I now know that we are way better people then that. We are moral, believe in treating others fairly, and just being good people. But then I guess we can't go pray our crimes and bigotry away.

lol....it took six posts for a thread to turn into an anti-Christian, anti-Trump thread. Well done! That's record!
Yes. I had a leak in one of my pipes. I called in a plumber. He sent one of his employees to fix it. A day later, it started dripping again. I called him back and he personally came to fix it himself. No leaks at all. I still haven't received a bill and this was 6 weeks ago. His attitude at the time was nothing but apologies for me being "inconvenienced" at having to open my home twice. It wasn't a big deal and nothing was damaged. I wonder if he thinks he shouldn't bill me.
Anyway, if I haven't received a bill in the next two weeks, I will call and check on it because if it was lost in the mail or something and they are sitting there waiting for my check, I would feel awful.

.... I had a leak in one of my pipes. I called in a plumber....
The plumber said the leak was totally Trump's fault, right? (Sorry, couldn't help it!)

The plumber said the leak was totally Trump's fault, right? (Sorry, couldn't help it!) Of course it was. He was colluding with the Pipe fitters union. Didn't you know they were behind the election fraud all along.
There are leaks in the White House. I guess I can't expect my house to be any different.
Come to think of it, my church had a leaky pipe. It's a conspiracy! Anti-Christian, Anti-Conservative people snuck into my house and my church and sabotaged the pipes.
Heinous.

Oh shoot! I have a plumber coming tomorrow afternoon. I didn't bother to check to see if he was Anti-Christian and Anti-Trump. Should I call and cancel ?? What if he is a Christian and voted for Trump ?? Whatever am I going to do?

Fix the problem yourself. It's way too big of a chance to take. No telling what a person like that will do to you or your home once he/she is in there.
I was going to ask God to heal my pipe but I figured He was way too busy riding herd over that church that dares to house the imperfect.

I don't see a problem, aren't all plumbers trained to walk on water?

OMG, speaking of plumbers.... I saw the most hilarious ad the other day.
I can buy the idea that we can all be a plumber, but can at least some of us avoid the associated wardrobe issues?!?

I was watching TV with my mom the first time I saw this commercial. She didn't get it. When I explained the plumber's crack thing, she laughed for 10 minutes.

Here is the August plumber! You can check out the other months to see if you would rather wait for repairs!
