I had half a small container of corn & sausage soup and 1 slice of garage bread. Also 1 cup of 1% milk. Will have rest of soup tomorrow for lunch.

I leave for vacation on Thursday. You're staying near the airport Wednesday night, I hope. Early forecasts are for a good dose of snow on the Cape Wednesday night into Thursday. I made a small batch of short ribs for dinner tonight with beef from my freezer stash and with onions/carrots/celery/spices/wine I already had on hand. I'll make a salad and some homemade mashed potatoes in a bit and call dinner "done". Cost? $20? We should get 4 meals out of it.

I'm still emptying my freezer in the garage, so tonight is pre-made chicken Santa Fe from the Fresh Market and a baked potato with sour cream & chives.

Mustard breaded chicken thighs from a Hello Fresh recipe. Served with roasted brussel sprouts and baked sweet potatoes. Total cost $8-9 and there is a piece of chicken left for me to make dinner around tomorrow night.

A goulash of sorts. Potatoes, smoked sausage, green peppers, and onions. I put ranch dressing on it too. So good.

It's not dinner time yet, but DH has decided to pass the time while we await the end of the blizzard by making waffles and bacon. Go for it, dude. We'll call it Linner.

Tonight is throwback night. I really want mac n cheese with a beef hotdog. I have no idea why this sounds so good but I'm rolling with it.

Chicken and broccoli casserole. At least that's what I'm going to attempt to make.

I'm making meatloaf and scalloped potatoes following my mom's recipe this weekend. Sadly that was about the only recipe that I make of hers; she was not a very good cook, but she tried.
Tonight we're just cleaning out the fridge so that I know what I need to buy/make this weekend.

DH is hungry me not so much, still kind of blah. I'm frying potatoes, onions, and bell pepper together. Then I'm adding some polish sausage, should taste good. I like the sausage really well with cabbage.
A one dish meal tonight.
I doubt DD likes it, she ate a lunchable.

Made some enchiladas from another hello fresh recipe. Don't know if I would make it again. But I had dinner at home instead of the pizza I've been wanting. And I have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

although our host in Tampa had promised us a home cooked dinner (he's a chef) we had to stop mid-afternoon on the road. so whether this is dinner or not, idk. but I bought 1 chicken sandwiches, 1 double cheeseburger, and fries for the three of us (someone else picked up Waffle House this morning) at Wendy's. should there still be dinner waiting when we eventually get to Tampa, I'll post back. I think I'm as pissed to miss out on this guy's cooking as I am about the inconvenience of getting bumped off an 7am flight that totally didn't need to be cancelled. JetBlue is hearing from me when this storm is over

Back from a mini vacation on the coast. Last Saturday: Had a goddess salad at Panera. $8 or so. Bought deli fixings for my friend's bachelor party. $60 including booze. Sunday brunch: Irish Benedict (eggs Benedict with roast beef). My friend paid. Monday at the beach: Seafood sampler, gluten free clam chowder, and I split an in-season Dungeness crab w/ my friend. Oh, and had a cocktail. Total with a 30% tip $110. Tuesday: Had a smoked salmon Caesar salad at the wedding reception and 1/2 slice wedding carrot cake. Their parents paid. Wednesday: Had Jack in the Box for lunch for old time's sake. $9 And an appetizer plate for dinner since I missed my connection. Thank you, Delta. $15 w/ tip. Some dude bought me a shot at the bar while I waited for my food. Last night: Deli sandwiches since we're running low on food. DH paid. Tonight: Take out from? This weekend: IDK yet, going mini-grocery shopping this evening to hold us over until payday. Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

I think he felt my pain of a missed connection thanks to the delayed Delta flight. I was stuck in Utah overnight. Do you know how many strange rules they have regarding alcohol?? Here's two I learned this week: In a bar, we are only allowed to have 1.5 oz alcohol in front of us at a time. That means there are no shots with a beer back. Oh, and one cannot take their adult beverage up to their hotel room.

KS has really weird alcohol laws and a lot of us just cross the state line to avoid them. Some live in suburbs which are too far to just jump over the line, but I only live about a half mile from the border so I don't even mess with KS and alcohol.

Another rule: They have state owned liquor stores with no refrigerated beer. The thought behind this is you buy it, and, while it's chilling at home, you can think about what you are about to do.

I learned you can cool down anything in salted ice water in about 5 minutes.
