So I came over here to sulk for the Red Sox, who forgot how to hit and are now OUT.... but there is no BB thread for the play offs?
Will Francona bring the Tribe all the way to and through the WS?
Come on Blue Jays fans- you just swept Texas, the #1 AL Team! Go Toronto!
Giants and Cubs- there is a hot one...... but I can't see the National League from my window......

now that I'm done pouting about it, I can say that I am pulling for a Cubs/Indians matchup - with the Cubbies winning it all. come on - a Terry vs Theo matchup? with all the former Red Sox players between the two teams? if we can't be there ourselves, we can at least live vicariously through them

Well, since my team sucked I kinda lost interest. I would like to see Cubs win.

Hoping the cubbies get to party like its 1984.
I want a Nationals (cuz I hate the rest of the 2016 NL playoff teams) vs anyone but the Red Sox in the WS (now that they are out I don't care who represents the AL). Though it would be kinda cool if the Indians broke their 68 year drought.

I have several I can root for- Cubs, Cleveland, and even Toronto, being our fellow AL East brethren.

I am a happy Indians fan today. Not sure if they have enough pitching to beat Toronto. Would love to see an Indians vs Cubs World Series. Was sad to see David Ortiz career end it would have been great to see him win another World Series.

Me too, but he had a great year and a great send off. As far as his tears go- he would have been crying on that mound even if the Sox had just won the WS in game 7...... But I'm sure you know that. Those tears were about so much more than that game, and they were tears of gratitude, remembrance and even joy. Many emotions I'm sure. Of course we all wish he'd gone with another flash of Ortiz glory- a big homerun to win and all, like he had done so many times before. They pitched to him, but barely. He walked more than he swung the last few games. And neither he nor the rest of the team were hitting well the last couple of weeks. He walks away with three WS rings though.

Wow Indians cannot keep starters completely healthy.
Bauer hurt his finger fixing his drone. Unreal.

deminmaine Francona took it in stride. Acted like Bauer could have cut his finger using a knife. Will see if Bauer can go tonight.

I literally just walked in the door from a stroll down to Wrigleyville to buy some new cubbies gear. We are a 15 minute walk from Wrigley, and are flying our W flag! Go cubbies! Rizzo#44 <3
We were in europe the last two weeks so we missed the series with the giants. Though, there was one morning we woke up in Paris and they were still playing in extra innings!

Francona is going to have some choice words for that kid later, if he hasn't already. what an idiot. you're in the playoffs, you work with your hands. we've all heard about blisters derailing a season, and you go and play with a toy with sharp blades? I won't be surprised if he gets cut or demoted. he started the season off the rotation, according to the commentators earlier. you don't pull something like that and live to tell about it.

DH went to bed in the first inning after telling me how there was no way the cubs would turn around their slump and start hitting. I tried to tell him that we have seen it before... it just takes one moment to turn it all around. "Teams don't just make a major change in one game, it takes a few games, there is no way they can make it happen in time."
I don't know who peed in his cheerios... but the cubbies are up 10-2! Exactly what I predicted would happen actually happened.

Oh, he is fully aware. He knows baseball in and out. He has also seen what happened last night play out several times over the last few years during the regular season. He was just in an unreasonably cranky state last night. And it gave me extra satisfaction that the game proved him wrong and me right lol. I am an ass like that. Sent from my SM-N920T using proboards

I figured as much. but he sounds like I did in 2004 (even over in Europe, where I was stuck for the ALCS. I still haven't actually seen all 7 games!) so I figured that a little reminder that it *is* possible might help remember - you guys have Theo now. have faith!

NOw he is talking about not watching any more games because he can't take it if they lose. Yet, he watches the Bears every week, without freaking fail. Ditto the Illini in college football. Both teams suck. How ridiculous is this?!? It is kind of making me mad. Lol Sent from my SM-N920T using proboards

He finally watched an entire game last night... freaking out and nervous pacing, even when it was obvious that we had this after the 1st inning. We are 8 blocks from wrigley and it was mania last night. We went out for a walk, high fived about 63894736389594 people. Honking and cheering went on all night, stopped sometime between 2 and 4am.
Cubbies in the world series!

Aw, congrats to the Indians and the Cubs. Both teams deserve to win the Series. I have personal ties to both cities, so choosing one is a little hard for me. Either way, a fabulous series and one worth watching. Waaaaaaaay better than watching political pundits slug it out until Election Day.

I loved the game. (I am biased towards the Indians)
I just hope Tito did not over use Miller last night.

I'm actually really excited about the WS this year and the Sox aren't even in it! I'll be happy with either outcome, and even though Terry and a lot of former RS players are on the Indians, my heart is with the poor Cubbies, so I'd like a *little*more if they won. But again, either way it'll be great! I feel those fans' pain so hard... Didn't stay awake for the game last night lol.
