I'm going to take out a container of Wendys chili from the freezer for tonight. I have a couple slices of garlic bread so will have one of those too.

didn't bother with the chicken, and didn't use all of the pork chops either. I didn't realize there were three in the bag. oops. but I did mix up a half-assed spicy Korean sauce for the pork chops to coat the chops on to cook. then I did up the veggies in the same pan, coating them in some of the burned-on gochujang. this rice is tasty.... I kind of wish I hadn't put mushrooms in it so my roommate could have tried some (he's allergic) because he was starting to drool over the amazing smell of it all cooking. lol.. next time, no mushrooms.

Not much comments about food after eating a can of beans one night and frozen soup beans another.
I had spaghetti, salad, and sauce, it was purchased sauce, what happened to your home made you canned? I said thought you didn't like it, why I never said that, its better then this. Men! And the purchased sauce was good too.
He said tonight, I'm going to help you clean for Thanksgiving, about fell off my chair, Hey I will take that offcer.

last night turned into takeout pizza when we realized that the chicken breast I'd pulled from the freezer late last week had already turned (oops)
small cheese, small chili pie with jalapeños, and an order of fries $20.
whatever we do for dinner tonight will include salad, at least for me. oy.

well, I just had lunch (cranberry walnut chicken salad sandwich on a mini ciabatta and chips) about half an hour ago, so who knows. what I do know for sure is that the kitchen is spotless right now, and closed til I start T-day prep tomorrow.

A sliced ham from Market Basket tonight with baked potatoes and lots of wine.
A small turkey breast tomorrow night as I am working on Thanksgiving night so will be sleeping my day away for that. I am baking my acorn squash tonight and reheating it tomorrow and there will be stuffing and maybe green beans with browned butter and some pearl onions. Also roasted butternut squash. Probably about it as DH is a picky pain in the ass. And probably more copious amounts of wine for me.

Grilled cheese sandwich and raw veggies and dip. Cost maybe $1. Veggies and dip were left from a weekend event.

That's funny, we had grilled cheese and soup for dinner, simple and easy.
I think we are all going to have a bowl of ice cream too.

in the middle of some mise en place for tomorrow, I diced up a couple plum tomatoes and made a bruschetta to toss with bowtie pasta.
pasta was bought on sale at $.50/box, minced garlic in oil was $3/2lb jar, and the tomatoes were $1/lb. shredded parm was the end of a tub, extra spices/EVOO are negligible.

The last of the black bean chicken and some raw veggies. I'm pitching what's left before I leave for the holiday.

Holy smokes buying a house is complicated.... Anywho... Sunday: Taco night 3.49 ground beef 1.17 LC tortillas 0.00 taco shells leftover from the Halloween party 0.80 cheese 0.25 sour cream 0.05 spices 0.00 leftover Thanksgiving sides Total $5.76 Monday we had Wendy's after meeting with the real estate agent. DH paid around $15 probably. I made the mistake of trying their "new" taco salad. They should call it chili salad as it's just lettuce with their chili piled on top. If I wanted chili, I would have ordered it. And I don't care for their chili. Tuesday: Pork chops! They were soooo good. I have the leftover for today's lunch. 0.00 pork chops-BOGO 0.50 almond flour, egg, parmesan breading 0.20 canola oil 0.00 leftover sides from Thanksgiving. Yay these are gone! Total $0.70 for 3 chops Tonight: Something with chicken 4.00 chicken breasts 0.05 spices 2.00 sides Total $6.05 Thursday: Not sure yet. Cod maybe? Friday: Take out from? Saturday: Dinner out with the ATV club. DH pays Sunday: Surf and turf 8.39 ribeye 3.37 shrimp-loyalty savings, e-coupon 0.50 frozen veggie-sale, e-coupon Total $12.26

I always liked having a burger made out of what Wendy's called their chili meat back when I worked there. It was just well done burgers saved up for chili so I always wanted to have the well done one so my burger wasn't dripping grease everywhere.

Tonight is loaded quinoa (sauteed BSCB chunks, sauteed peppers/onions/spinach all mixed in with cooked quinoa). Cost? $20? Good for at least 4 dinners and some lunches.

Good to know that's how it's always been done. I'll skip it in the future even as a side. Their chili sucks, IMO.

Their chili sucks, IMO. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't half water. I used to drain 90% of the water off mine as an employee. It'll never be as good as actual homemade chili but if you're sick to death of fried stuff and burgers it's a better alternative than most.

I'm stopping on my way home for B/S chicken thighs. going to marinate in a packet of Weber's black peppercorn seasoning and grill-pan it. tonight will likely be chicken Caesar salad. I picked up a bottle of dressing yesterday, it was calling me.

I am working on keeping our caloric intake down as DD has gained 2 pounds, we can't do that. Also hubbys weight is going up. The last few days I'm trying to cook lighter but man its hard. I am going to have to redo all my meals.
Yesterday evening we each had a cube steak, DD and I split one, then sautéed peppers and mushrooms and a baked potato, how bland.
This morning oatmeal, lunch was at a Japanese buffet and she and I ate light, DH didn't do badly either. Tonight she had a toasted cheese and tomato soup, he had 2 of them. Believe me this is way less food then normal, but going to be a struggle as we all think we are hungry, sigh. Of course we aren't.
I'm making a pot of veggie soup for tomorrow. Going to have to come up with a lot of vegetable type recipes.
We are going to let her have ice cream on Sunday as DH goes and takes his mom out on Sunday for it, I don't generally go, I don't need it. But we have to let her do something.

that cube steak doesn't have to be bland, how are you seasoning it? I don't eat beef, so I am probably not the best person to offer specific suggestions for that....but there are low sodium spice blends, or you can just play around on your own. I like the l/s Montreal chicken seasoning and Cajun blends, both from McCormick.
