Taco salads tonight. Hamburger was free so $4 worth for the rest maybe?
Tomorrow I'll figure out how to use the new fancy pressure cooker or put the roast in the crockpot. I was expecting that it would come with directions for different meat types but it didn't.

I am still working on using up stuff from my freezer & pantry. That is why you see the occasional (Fz) or (P) but I am not pushing as hard as I was a few weeks ago.
1/25 Lunch tilapia with lemon & dill, pasta w/broccoli & pesto, salad. Cost 1.10 Dinner (Veggie Monday) French roll pizza w/mushrooms. Cost 0.93
NOTE: when I make French roll pizza I scoop out the bready centers and dry them in the oven = FREE croutons and/or breadcrumbs.
NOTEII: My food treat this week is a boneless NY strip steak. It will be 2 meals at least. Next week I’ll do a snacky, junk food stock up for the Super Bowl.

Leftover chili and a slice of pumpkin cake.
Finally making roast tomorrow. I'll put it in crockpot before I go to work. Me and the fancy pressure cooker are not getting along. It didn't come with instructions worth a damn.

I took a marinated chicken breast from the freezer last night to thaw. Will have that tonight with a small salad. It's supposed to be in the 50s here today so plan on getting 2 walks in before sunset.

Roast went in crockpot this morning. I would say $9 max for everything. And we'll have leftovers for another meal.

Mini pigs in a blanket and broccoli flavored with Adobo. I really don't know what I was doing with my life before Adobo - that stuff is everything!

I was going to roast chicken breasts tonight, but they haven't thawed completely, so that will be for tomorrow. I am craving chicken strips for some reason... DH said he will pick some up on the way home.

Serendipity? I need to make a ground meat meal this week. Have been considering either meatloaf or Salisbury steak. Low & behold. One of my stores has ground turkey for $2/lb & Aldi has 8 oz mushrooms for 0.89. Salisbury steak it is and since the fruit mkt I will be at over the weekend has orange bell peppers on sale next week is probably going to be either meat or lentil stuffed peppers. NOTE: 1 lb ground meat = 4 servings so for each cook I have 3 non-cook meals in the freezer. Same for 2 peppers IF I can get pretty big ones.
I planned on making some hummus for Super Bowl Sunday. However, a local store has 10 oz Tribe on sale for 0.99. The chickpeas alone would cost me as much or more and no dirty food processor to clean.
1/27
Lunch steak, cauliflower, salad, 1/2 roll, Cost 1.43 Dinner: Breakfast for dinner = pancakes & sausage. Cost 0.37
Nice to balance out the $$# lunch w/a CHEAP dinner.

Quinoa Salad
I don't like cilantro so I leave that out. Also I use frozen corn instead of canned.

Mini pigs in a blanket and broccoli flavored with Adobo. I really don't know what I was doing with my life before Adobo - that stuff is everything! My new cooking spice is Vegetta. It's sort of like boulion powder, but made with vegetables, no msg etc. You can put it in everything! Makes any homemade soup taste great.

Tonight I had 1 small marinated chicken breast sautéed. 1/2C frozen peas, a small dollop of amish potato salad to use it up, and what was left of a can of mandarin oranges. Also had 8 oz. of milk.
Don't know what it cost, but it was certainly good. I have 1 more breast that I cooked as long as it was in the package, maybe will slice it up for tomorrow night. I can use the Arabiatta sauce that is in the fridge over spaghetti and fresh grated parm/reggiano (sp)
Oh and I went for a walk around the community 2 times today.

Chicken patties, not sure of price. I guess I'll eat my salad that I picked up at work last night - free mashed potatoes - $1 for the package. Milk and butter have been around and I was craving KFC mashed potatoes but no interest in driving to Saugus, which has the only KFC I know of. Polar cranberry soda and vodka - PRICELESS!!! Tomorrow will be BBQ because @patstab kept going on about it in Florida so now I'm craving it!! DAMN YOU!!!! That will be after the pet store and bookstore.

I am already in ‘planning’ mode for next week. Took a long time in the freezer whole chicken out to defrost & plan on Sun cook. I also found a container of chili so I probably will NOT make that this winter season even though I bought pinto beans.
1/28 I had a CRAZY day w/commitments at 9 a, 11a & 1p. Bought lunch out. Cost $2.23 Fell asleep late afternoon & just grabbed the leftover Progresso soup in the fridge for dinner. Cost <0.20.

Jeez. Monday already?! Last night: Cornish game hens, spaghetti squash Alfredo, leftover corn niblets (sale) for DH, turnips. Total $11.20 with a ton of leftover squash. Tonight: Steak (loyalty savings-DH and I split one), blue cheese, leftover Alfredo, fried zucchini. $9.17 Tuesday: Low carb nachos=LC tortillas, ground beef, homemade taco spice blend, cheese, sour cream, black olives. $9.16 for about 3 servings Wednesday and Thursday: Either pork chops (BOGO) or chicken breasts ($3.65 for 2) with sides.
Thursday: Crock Pot meal of either the pork chops or chicken, whichever I didn't use Wednesday.
Friday: Take out from? Saturday: Something quick as I am attending a Winterfest. Sunday: IDK yet Have a wonderful week, y'all! Wednesday I made chicken tenders using a different method: Mix 2 eggs w/ 1 TBS water, roll chicken slices in it, then in grated Parmesan. Fry on each side for about 4 minutes each. I served them with green beans and leftover turnips. Yesterday morning I was slammed before leaving the house, so I tossed 3 boneless pork chops with a can of low sodium chicken broth (.50) and minced garlic (.05) into the Crock Pot. It was simple, but then I topped each chop w/ bacon. Tonight is take out from? Saturday: I pulled out brats from the freezer. Manager's Special $1.67. With sides figure $3 for at least 3 servings. Sunday: marvholly gave me an idea to make a meatloaf. It's been awhile. $3.37 lb ground meat plus sides. Figure $5 for at least 3 servings. Happy weekend everyone!

Dinner tonight is pork chops bought BOGO this week. Broccoli on sale. One last potato, baked for DH. He only eats the inside and gives me the outside. So far, three weeks unemployed, but I am doing well on the grocery budget. Keeping things on an all-cash basis, not adding to my stash unless the bargains are spectacularly good and I have coupons.
