Buying or selling on Craigslist, If anything bothers you about the transaction, Don't do it. I buy and sell a lot of stuff off Craigslist, Sometimes for thousands of dollars. An example, if I am selling a car or truck The money transaction takes place at a bank. I use the excuse to notarize the title, when I really want them to see the cash go into the bank, that way you don't get robbed afterwards. When buying something under less than the best of circumstances, involving lots of cash, always have some one else with you. If you are oldcoyote, you will be armed to the teeth, concealed carry of course.

OMG. What is with some people? I got a inquiry from some girl asking what's the lowest I would take because "her phone broke and she just needed something really bad". Um...ok...not really my problem, but I told her $100. $20 off what I was asking. She asked if I could hold it until she got paid on Tuesday (this was on Sunday). I wasn't real thrilled to hold for less than asking, but whatever. Tuesday rolls around and she texts me that she got her days mixed up and she didn't get paid until Wednesday. She wanted to know if I'd just give her the phone (because she really needed one bad) and she would pay me on Wednesday. Um...no...I'll wait until Wednesday. Wednesday (today) rolls around and I get a message from her this morning that her check wasn't as much as she thought it was going to be. Would I take $80 and she'd pay me the rest on Friday? I said, sorry, no deal. I had two other people that had contacted me after her that wanted me to let them know if the sale went through. Then she gets all snarky with me and says "so, does this mean you won't take $100, because I can get one online for $70....just sayin". I told her the phone was no longer available and if she could get a brand new 4s for $70 she should jump on it. See The Captain, I can be a hardass!

Maybe you should send her a link to YMAM so she can learn to better manage her paychecks?

How is she texting you if her phone broke? LOL Good question! It's probably more like "my smartphone is broke and I'm stuck with this old Razr flip phone".

Now she's texting me all pissed off saying I'm being disrespectful and rude not letting her have the phone for $100.

I'd have to walk away from this one. If she does scrape together the money and buys it, she'll probably expect you to repair every little thing that comes up for the next 3 years.

Either post the texts for YM to have fun with or block her.

I just wanted to sell a stupid phone. Either you want it or you don't and you have the money or you don't. I don't get how a $100 phone sale needs to involve drama.

I just didn't want to deal with her anymore. I started envisioning her texting me a few days later saying she took it out of the sealed box and the screen was crushed or something.

YM would rip her apart. She sounded very woe' is me type. I'm also getting the impression that if that Yelp for Peeple app was up and running, she'd rip you to shreds on there.

She already is to the Facebook for sale pages admin, but that's my Mom! And for one, she warned me the girl seemed like she might not be reliable and two, has been listening to me complain about being jerked around by this girl for the past three days.
