They do it all the time,   this is not about a good guy,      this was an anti gun news story in like we can't have all you armed people running around with guns.

LOL! Well in this particular case the guy shouldn't be running around with guns. He's not a very good shot. But then you think it's okay for the guy to pick up his gun shells and flee the scene.

Probably fear of being sued into oblivion or arrested.  Now he or she is officially a criminal and will be parted from that weapon as soon as the police figure out who it is.

If I legally shot a criminal and it was in a situation, like on my property.  I would take the backhoe and bury him/her in a 10 foot deep hole out in the backwoods section of my property without out telling a soul, because it's easier than dealing with any authority, cops or otherwise.  I wouldn't pick up the casings though, it's like I got them all over anyway.  I can understand this guy running away.  I would do it if I only hit the perpetrators with gunfire and had the opportunity to leave.  With all the nut bags out there, I'd just as soon have zero notoriety.
