I thought I had prepared the boy for life, and then one day we were in the car, the car in front of me turned without using a turning signal. I said, "Oh, it looks like that guy is out of blinker fluid and needs to take his car to the shop to get it refilled." My boy looked at me with panic in his eyes and said, "WHAT!?!?! There is blinker fluid? How do I check that?!?!" I just started laughing and said no, that it was a just a saying that sometimes people say when others don't use their turning signals.

But car horn fluid does exist, yes?

"peeing in my pants" You're both too young to have experienced how your bladder can let you down in life's funniest moments. Or because you sneezed. Or coughed. Or drew a breath. I reprimanded DD for peeing in her pants a couple days ago. She's 4. It wasn't an accident, she just didn't want to stop playing. She turned to me, looked me right in the eye, and said with a calm, cold voice "Well, I know that YOU pee in your panties. I saw them last day."
Yeah, I lost that one. LOL!

When DS got his first credit card (after having a debit card for a couple of years) he charged a few things and paid his bill in full. Then one day he called and said his card was lost and someone "stole $500 from his account" he was in a panic. He gave me his login and I checked. It said balance $0 available credit $500. I told in balance $0 was good no one stole any money. He didn't have $500 in his account to start, it was a CREDIT card.
Yes this is the kid who thinks calculus is easy and was majoring in Finance!

So my son who thinks calculus is easy, when he was 12 he was going to make instant pudding. I let him alone for a while and came back a few minutes later. The were 2 measuring cups with milk on the counter and he was searching through the cabinets. I asked what he was doing and he said he needed another measuring cup because he needed 3 cups of milk. I told him he should get a bowl! He looked at me like what a great idea!
Duh!
