My husband and I attend a lot of estate auctions to look at woodworking equipment, and I would estimate that over half of them include extensive gun collections. It is not unusual to see a collection with over a dozen civil war weapons and some of them are much larger. That type of thing would really skew the average in this area.

Six guns wouldn't be near enough. I own about 20 (I don't count them), and most get used, different gauges of shotguns for different game species and different hunting conditions, I have rifles for big and small game, there's hand guns for target practice and personal carry, and with two boys, they need their own guns to hunt with as well. My point is, six guns really isn't that many for someone to own, I am neither angry, nor aggressive and my behavior has nothing to do with gun ownership. All my guns are locked in a safe, and I do have my CPL for personal carry should I so choose. For some one like yourself who likes to hunt...target practice and such...more power to you..plus I am thinking you are quite comfortable in income..these weapons are quite pricy to say the least...I found out recently when I was thinking of disposing of my two Colt 1911.. .45 , souvener of my military service...found out they could fetch up to $1500..{ They are in prime condition...}...Much to big for me today...plus no need ..not worried about personal protection...that's what the cops are for..plus know from experience..taking a life isn't all that it's cracked up to be...lots of fallout there.. Personally have never ever hunted..do fish a lot so it's not the taking of life thing...but have no interest in the hunting thing...Did carry long time ago ..use to do lots of over night hiking on New England trails..very lonely out there...but thats over for me now. There is a place for personal ownership but the stats on accidental shootings..the deaths of by the weapons..only in America...Other civilized cultures..thinking Great Britain, European countrys' ..the stats are so much less...and they are just as manly so to speak..just look at their historys of wars...seemed they have matured ..we still are a long way off from them...

Actually, driving on the roads these days, I'm more concerned about road rage assholes than some pissed off dickhead with a gun. How many rage-prone people have a driver's license and a car? That's a bigger threat to society.
