UPDATE Chicg [2] - 1/16/19, $12444 (11/7/14, 4217.34 MPT266) ATT 7252Discover 5192 Only $200 progress this month, BOO. Chugging along but need to pick up the pace. Ugh, frustrated lately, I'm not even going wild on spending but any "extra" that I cash flow results in very little progress. A haircut, a date and renewing my cheap gym membership for the year (only $200) set me back enough to not really make a dent in my progress last month. So frustrating that my raises don't keep up with cost of living and I'm in my 40s and can't afford small extras that it seems I should be able to handle at this point in my life. You ladies understand, and you would tell me what I already know I need to do...track spending and stick to a budget, earn additional income. I just needed to vent. I am happy I'm not adding to my debt right now I guess. The topic of finally not putting all of a tax refund/bonus to debt really hit me. I was SO excited for that time to come, then it came and went, and now I'm back to needing my refund to go to debt again. So in a few weeks I should have a little dent. Chivers - I didn't see all of the posts, but I feel your pain on digging out. I'm here for support, I understand! Nidena - I'm sorry for your loss Sealy - I hear you too, just need to vent sometimes. Hang in there, we can do this : )

Meeting with realtors, today, to discuss the pros/cons of renting, rent-to-own, and outright selling of my house. I aim to be out of here by September. Where to, then, nidena?

The Marshalltown area of Iowa until Spring 2020 then on to Indianapolis. Briefly lived in Indy (still in Indiana). I think you will love it there.

Chivers - I love your "go get em" attitude on the last page. Good for you for starting fresh with the debt race. You got this!
Nidena - I'm sorry for your loss. I have two puppy girls that have been my reason for still breathing somedays after I lost the twins and I don't know what I would have done with out them here to cuddle me. Was Mocha a cat or a dog? Do you think you will get a new pet after you move? Nikiz - Race #3 is going down to $0 for you soon and I love it!
Lots of good updates everyone and I am sure tax returns will see some more debt digits dropping!

Update to Race #1, #2, #3 and 4!!$1071.51 paid off in the last 2 weeks!!
Today was Day 77 of P90X!! Tomorrow will be one month until our next trip to Laughlin, and 3 of our favorite casino friends are coming too! I would really like to lose 9 more lbs and then I will have lost 10% of my weight since giving birth. MO and I had a little side bet that if either of us loses 10% (this was over a course of 3 1/2 months) that we get extra bonus money for the trip. NINE MORE LBS.....its gonna be tough but I am trying my hardest. I worked out twice yesterday and twice today (may do another one tonight just cause it's something to do to keep my mind off of things). I know my real struggle is the eating part, specifically my terrible Coke addiction. I am only have 1 a day, but am going to try 0 tomorrow. Would be awesome if I could do no pop or alcohol till the trip, but I love my Coke!
February has been another tough month as the twins were "due" 2/22/19. The best man at our wedding had his 3rd child a few days ago and when we had found out that both wives were pregnant and due dates were so close we were so excited for our kids to grow up together and be best buddies. I feel terrible that I had to unfollow both of them on FB because I can't handle seeing all the new baby pics. I broke down yesterday while I was on the treadmill and couldn't stop crying, one of my poor puppy girls tried to climb on and comfort me and ate it hard. So I sat down and she attacked me with kisses. So thankful for my husband and my puppers.
MO and I had a nice weekend in Deadwood last weekend. I had lots of good hits and bonuses and lots of . It was great to get away and enjoy each other with out all the normal distractions. I ended up $100 ahead but MO lost (it's usually the other way around), but overall a cheap getaway.
Still working on getting our taxes filed. After countless hrs of work by MO he finally got a SSN for our daughter, but when he filed the taxes they rejected cause I guess they didn't recognize her SSN yet.......they were born in the beginning of November! So if we don't have our kids in the system yet what do people do who had kids the rest of the year?? Very frustrating because we wanted to use that money as the base of our vaca money for Laughlin....looks like we will have to borrow from savings instead and reimburse savings when we finally get our taxes back. So sad for MO to have to keep repeating the story of how we lost our twins.
Savings went down to $11K after paying for the property taxes on our two rental houses. MO should get his coaching pay in the next week or so and that will get us back to $13K.
I can't wait to get back under $500K total debt! I think maybe 3-4 more months and we will be back in the 4s!
Celebrations for this update:

I have cousins in Anderson, Elwood, Muncie, and Orestes but those towns are just too small for me. I'm looking at the north end of town, nearer to Carmel, by the Clay Terrace area. It seems like a great, walkable area. I'd love to be able to walk to get groceries and stuff.

bankergurl- You are killing that P90x challenge. (I made it 2 says when I tried it haha). Don’t feel bad about having to unfollow your friends. Your mental health is more important than social media. ❤️

thanks! I'm kind of at the point now where it's basically "put up or shut up.....and declare bankruptcy" and I'm not doing that. this wasn't an unplanned financial disaster, this was a series of bad decisions, and I'm bringing in a salary where I can dig myself out. so I will. putting on the big girl panties and getting down to it. and I'm slowly catching up on this thread, since I stayed away while waiting for the dust to settle on the new job/paycheck/etc.

I received my GI Bill housing stipend (for Jan) and book allowance today. It's still showing as pending but I immediately scheduled that money right out of my account. Now, there's a payment pending for the HVAC for Friday. That's a payoff of 50% since October. I'll get my Feb housing stipend on Mar 1st--next Friday--and that's going right to the HVAC as well.
I just realized that I've exceeded my Dining Out budget for the month. It's only .02 but that's still going over. Time to take the debit card out of my wallet until grocery shopping day.

Reasonably on time this month for the 15th. I wanted to make sure my payments cleared with the bank holiday and all. Things are going well. I'm very busy at work and being given more responsibility, which will hopefully lead to a promotion next year. My paydown plan is working and February was a big month for me. February Summary• Made it under $50K in debt • Paid off my second student loan, SL#6! • Less than $3K in credit card debt • Less than $35K in student loan debt • Payoff of $2,970.44 this month! Goals• Under $50K by February 2019 update (met February 2019!!!)• Reach 50% paid off by February 2019 (met January 2019!) • Pay off another student loan by Feb 2019. (met February 2019!!!)• Only have student loans and car loan debt by May 2019. (may have to move to June 2019, but not committing to that change yet.) idlechatter (2) 2/15/2019 $48,508.89 (12/13/2017 $71,083.09 C165) Debt | Starting Debt | WIRR Start 12/13/2017 | 2/15/2019 | Difference from WIRR Start | Total Difference | Total % Paid | CC#1a | $0.00 | $0.00 | $0.00 | -$628.05 | -$628.05 | 100.00% | CC#1b | $4,846.31 | $4,846.31 | $1,750.00 | -$3,096.31 | -$3,096.31 | 63.89% | CC#2 | $1,592.09 | $1,592.09 | $1,000.00 | -$4,470.49 | -$4,470.49 | 280.79% | SL#A | $3,024.00 | $640.37 | $0.00 | -$640.37 | -$3,024.00 | 100.00% | SL#B | $8,400.00 | $5,465.90 | $4,591.12 | -$874.78 | -$3,808.88 | 45.34% | SL#C | $31,822.91 | $21,424.73 | $18,231.01 | -$3,193.72 | -$13,591.90 | 42.71% | SL#D | $8,400.00 | $5,596.11 | $4,603.35 | -$992.76 | -$3,796.65 | 45.20% | SL#E | $11,370.48 | $8,723.05 | $7,228.61 | -$1,494.44 | -$4,141.87 | 36.43% | SL#6 | $6,581.00 | $2,926.35 | $0.00 | -$2,926.35 | -$6,581.00 | 100.00% | Auto | $19,036.80 | $15,864.00 | $11,104.80 | -$4,759.20 | -$7,932.00 | 41.67% | Moto | $4,384.14 | $4,004.18 | $0.00 | -$4,004.18 | -$4,384.14 | 100.00% | Total | $99,457.73 | $71,083.09 | $48,508.89 | -$27,080.65 | -$55,455.29 | 55.76% |

I just can't see spending 100k on a different house that we don't really NEED, though I WANT one! haha That said, I had placed the extra payments in savings, and I'll probably move them over in a few months.

has anyone ever used Lending Club or any of the myriad similar other options out there? since my credit is currently unlocked for the corporate AmEx application to go through, I decided to see what my rate would be through them. I may do the same with SoFi today. my stuff gets re-locked tomorrow.
I was given 8.81% interest over a 3yr term, or 12.98% over a 5yr term. the latter is right around what my interest rates are for most of the balances, so that doesn't make much sense. but would a 4% or more drop in interest rates over three years be worth the origination fee of $2400? I'm thinking no.

Check out Sofi cause they have no origination fees. We used a Sofi loan to pay off our credit card before DH retired in November. It was so nice to have only one auto payment and lower interest rates to get rid of the all the many CC payments.

This month has been extremely hard. We are putting our house up for sale and we had to declutter after 13 years of living in this house. We have moved alot but it has always been for DH's job. They moved us, packed us and helped with selling the house. Now we are on our own. I am finding it very upsetting.
I am also finding it hard to reconcile not being able to spend money like we used to since now DH is retired. We have 4 birthdays coming up in the next 3 months. And then I sat down to start working on our taxes and it looks like we will owe more than $10,000! My husband got a buy out to retire and they took a large some of money out for taxes but I guess not enough and with SS. When they lowered the tax rates most companies took less money out of the paychecks. Put now that we have a whole lot less money coming in, we have to pay a whole lot more.
So far retirement has been a royal pain.

bankergurl - ((((Hugs)))) I understand unfollowing those on FB that bring up things that make you sad/mad. Since I’ve been at my current job (2 years in May), I’ve been pregnant 3 times and miscarried each time. My latest miscarriage was in November. At work recently, a pregnant lady had started and I don’t know when her due date is, but my luck it’s close to when I should have been due. It’s not fun and it’s not fair.

Trucking along on HVAC payments. The big one for February just cleared with one more for tomorrow which makes a total of $1970 in payments this month. I've budgeted more than $2500 for March and once the various deposits hit the account, I'll schedule that money right out of there. So, come mid-March, after those payments clear, I will have paid off 61% of the balance in just five months. Getting it gone while I have GI Bill income.

shanendoah: 2/28/2019, $4,353 (5/4/2017, $43,691.23, WIRR151, WIRR160, WIRR164)
Line of Credit | Current Balance | Previous Balance | Starting Balance | Limit | APR | Total Paid | Percentage Paid | All other Cards | $0 | | $38,908.19 | | | | | Citi Diamond 2 | $4,353.00 | $5,468 | $4,783.04 | $9,600 | 0% until 04/19 (Purchases) 0% until 01/20 (Bal Trans) | 430.04 | 9% | Total | $4,353 | $5,468 | $43,691.23 |

Updated the chart, since I'm down to just the one card I'm paying on. Purchases are set to be paid off next month, so within the 0% APR window, and the rest is the balance transfer. Right now, I'm scheduled to have it all paid off in October.

Update to Race #1 and #2!$919.33 paid off in the last 2 weeks!!
Today was Day 90 of P90X!! I finished! So happy and proud of myself for making it. I will still keep working out daily, not sure if I want to do another round of P90X or mix it up. I got a firestick set up in our gym so I can also watch lots of shows and YouTube in there now which is great! Monday is two weeks till vaca!
Taxes finally got filed last week and we got our State Return today for $263.00. We were $258.00 away from being under the next $1000 mark this update, so I tossed $260.00 of the tax return onto the mortgage for Rental #2 so that we would make it again!
Savings is close to $12K, still waiting for MO's coaching pay, should be soon.

Care Credit- $0--Paid off!!! Capital One- $3,714.76 Car Loan- $6,966.80
imanangel: Phase 1: UPDATE: $10,681.56 (12/31/2018 $13,658.73 WIR 186)
Paid off $2,977.17 so far. I had hoped that this month we would have been able to pay off more, but unfortunately, we had a $477 vet bill, a bill for a new washer, and now a $2748 tax bill we have to pay..... Sometimes I get so discouraged. It feels like whenever I think we are making headway...something comes up.
