Returned tile to tile store that was leftover and some stuff to Home Depot. That added up to about $700!! I will get my deposit back so there's $2500!! Now if the state of Oregon would quit hanging onto my refund under the guise of "processing" it, I'd have almost another grand. Too bad they can scam you by not paying interest on it. That's what happens when you have a liberal state that needs more money to fund welfare and illegals.

I have really been a slacker this summer. I have avoided ironing as much as possible, which is silly because I actually don't mind ironing as long as I can drink a beer or two while doing it and listen to music. Anyway, it had really accumulated because I sort of ironed as needed. DH has plenty of shirts so that wasn't a problem. I did about half of it a couple of weeks ago. Today I finished up. I ironed 10 shirts, two sets of capris, two pairs of shorts, and two pairs of pants. School starts tomorrow (just teachers). Unfortunately, though, I now have 5 shirts, one pair of shorts, and two pairs of pants drying and ready to iron tomorrow.

Zib, your bath tile does look exactly like the one I used in my hall bath! I love it but it spots terribly. When I clean it, I have to dry it with a towel. I don't bother when I shower though. Too much work!

I sat in meetings all day . . . three of them! First, we had Institute, which consists of all the teachers in the district. Then we had faculty meeting. Finally, we had grade-level meeting. It made for a long first day back, but at least it is Friday.

I'm going to have to move my washer and dryer which necessitates moving the electric and a water line in order to put my car in garage. I looked at smaller depth washer and dryers but you only saved a few inches and I need at least 10-12 inches. Oh well. Met my newest neighbors. Guillaume and Timorn who have a multi colored girl Australian shepherd who is 1 year old. G asked how long it took for the one I'm watching to settle down. I didn't have the heart to tell him he had a few years to go but he came to that conclusion on his own!!

Busy week-all day Wednesday at the VA hospital for various appointments. This week DH starts radiation treatments on a lump on his shoulder. It's the same cancer but has started to bother him more so this should shrink it. Thursday and Friday we cleaned out the garden except for peppers and tomatoes which are still producing, then had lunch Friday with DGD2 and DGS2-that was fun. Best part of the week, DGGS2 was born on Tuesday! He's a cutie, and mom, DGD1 is doing well after her C-section.
Last week we finished up the school supplies project at the church-yay! I'm glad that's done.

I haven't even looked at this garden this week. Need to get out there and see about tomatoes, need to make huge kettles of spaghetti sauce to can. One huge kettle only makes about 10 quarts, seems like. I want to can 30 quarts or so.
We picked up DIL's new car today she is sooo excited. I drove it in town, she drove it home. She said it feels like she is brand new to driving again, different country, different car. She was in Seattle for a year, but its been 5 or 6 years ago.
Little guy is doing good, he is just a 2 year old, what can I say.

I picked up a few groceries yesterday, other than that, I finished a murder mystery book and started another one. Had a smoothie for dinner. All in all, just a nice quiet day.

DH is still in ICU. He has an inflamed colon as the result of a bacterial infection known as c. diff.
This is nasty stuff. I have to put on a gown and gloves in order to visit him. He tried to give me his soiled shorts to wash. I insisted he toss them. I know I've been washing contaminated clothes for the past couple of weeks, but that stops now.
I started cleaning the whole house this morning just because . . . Now I want to wipe everything with clorox wipes. I bought a couple of containers to take to school so I'm set.

Little guy likes grandpa, we think he is missing his dad.
DH was getting in the shower, little guy started to also, he showers with his dad too. DIL said she stopped showering with him. At 1 1/2 he was looking her private parts over, smacking them and laughing. She said now she does not get in naked with him. LOL!
Anyway he wanted in, so we peeled off diaper and shirt. We tried to get a picture of him after he got out, but were not quick enough. DH had him wrapped in a towel combing his hair. He is having a ball with little grandson. And I think grandson is enjoying it too.

Well, I've had a big day. Got three trees trimmed and one removed. Another will be being removed soon. Put together my desk so moved my desk stuff off the patio set and the patio set outside. Put things in too large boxes into smaller boxes so they can go into the closets. Paid my handyman so far for his work and left him a key and my list so when he has time, he can do stuff while I'm gone. I'm exhausted.

Little dog that DIL brought is barking at DD. She fed him other day and he stopped but then started again each time he sees her. I took a fly swatter out this morning and was going to smack his butt. But turns out all she has to do is hold it and he quit barking.
Damn, she looks different but seeing her day after day he should stop doing that.

That stuff certainly is nasty! I'm so sorry! Best wishes for his quick and complete recovery. It's probably just as well to get rid of what you can that might be contaminated. C. diff has a long life outside the host - up to 90 days if I remember correctly. Chlorine bleach will kill the stuff, though, so a good bleach wipe-down is an excellent plan.

I had c-diff last August. Started after 4 days of antibiotics for a broken tooth. I spent 6 days in the hospital and it was a good 6-8 weeks before my digestive system felt like it was back to normal. Miserable experience. I make sure I take probiotics everyday now and ramp it up whenever I need antibiotics for something including a ridiculous amount of Activia.

When my gallbladder issues started, it was assumed I had c. diff, but the tests came back negative.

Everything is hard with the broken wrist. Shower, exercise lower body, buy lottery ticket, therapy on my hand, library followed by lunch with friends. I get home and two great grand kids are here. The house looks extra messy. We did have fun. Late Xmas and birthday gifts for them. They found the paints and started on pictures so fast. I am glad they did them. If I had suggested it, they would have balked. Origami did not work out. Again I got to about step 13 and couldn't figure it out. GrGrS was disappointed. Maybe tomorrow. These children are a dream. Well behaved and grateful for everything.

We took advantage of the nice weather sans rain, and we went to the zoo where we walked for 2 1/2 hours to work off the sinful lunch of curly fries and lemonade.

Not taking long to see the issues. Baby has been well since being here. For some reason not wanting to give him milk, he is drinking at least 2 glasses a day, no resistance so far from mom. They want to give just water?? He is using a sippy cup because she does not want a mess, not going there either, that is easily resolved.
Gives him a blanket to carry around, but if you take it away he doesn't ask for it. At night no problem.
At times she is almost force feeding the kid when he is full and doesn't want it, really bothers us. Also he will eat by himself if DIL quits feeding him. Also he needs to eat at the table not running around.
I see why not potty trained no consistency at all, once in awhile. Not going to go there, if she leaves for a month we will help with that.
Also said he wouldn't play with toys, he plays and plays with them, can now stack blocks 4 and 5 high.
We plan to go to New York and look around where they are to move. I guess I am being mean but I don't want to take their dog, hubby will take care of it. There will be 4 in a tiny motorhome, just not room, think I made her mad.
We are being good hosts. Her help is very sporadic, on the phone half a day today, but I didn't expect much. Gives a little help. Let's see how it goes, we are bending over backwards.
The little guy has visual issues, I can see he will look at something and move it toward and away from his eyes. Also I looked in his ears and its like foam in there. But no nebulizer treatments and he is staying healthy.
Of course we all have different parenting style but most this is easily corrected.
I see no evidence of retardation at all, excellent balance, learning. Just see lack of consistency in most everything. I know I'm to analytical.

But no nebulizer treatments and he is staying healthy. If I saw "foam" in a child's ears, I would take him to the doctor immediately. A pediatrician is best, but a general practitioner could help if it means that the child gets help sooner. I'm guessing you mean there's fluid of some sort?

Well it looked like it to me but DIL said she didn't see anything. He isn't pulling his ears or anything, no fever, has an appointment Friday with a pediatrician so guess we will do that.
She did ask what she could do about 1PM and I told her so she cleaned our bathroom, I mopped and she vacuumed the house so that was a huge help.
Our only problem is him after the answering machine and the weather station, he is getting corrected for that.
He sure does like grandpa, mainly cause he can use his Ipad I think. But he just likes him, is all happy when he comes home. I'm glad, he will have grandpa wrapped around his little finger. LOL!
It's all ok, just two different families trying to get in sync.
She has a real hard time throwing leftovers away, I noticed that in Korea wants to keep the stuff forever. I do some fridge cleaning at night. LOL!
She said after petroiska they had a hard time so wonder if they had times without enough food, hard to say.

Why don't you just ask her to help with some things? Give her a few specific chores/projects every day. She can't read your mind.
Good to hear the little guy is doing well. That does sound odd, foam in ear. Does he seem to hear well from different directions? He hasn't fallen has he? Definitely ask the doc about it.

That's what it looked like to me, can't hold him still again. No,in fact he is pretty sure footed for a 2 year old. He loves to run up and down our long hallway, it goes through the house and I worry he will fall and whack his head on the tile. Other then the answering machine he is a pretty good little kid. He doesn't bother glassware sitting around and outside just touches the flowers and doesn't tear them off. She has done a lot right with him. She told us to smack him to leave the phone alone but I hate to. A sharp no from me generally works. As she told son last night, he now says the word no.
He likes his toys we got and will play with them a long time also baby TV which we limit. Hubby and he will play with his Ipad about an hour in the evening.
He likes going to bed with grandpa and pushing the buttons on the bed controller, has it going up and down and on massage, really likes that. He likes watching TV with him. Last night I caught them playing peek a boo. He was having a great time. Does them both good, I wish hubby had had the time and patience to play with son like that. He laughs all evening with grandpa, very sweet to hear. He and grandpa are now working on the number 4, he consistently picks out 1,2, and 3 now. He likes to do it from some sudoko game on the Ipad. Now bad for a week.
There is something with his eyes, hope we find out, just odd, but yet he seems to see everything, so who knows.
Yes I told her yesterday afternoon. She seemed in a bad mood yesterday morning, not sure why. I would imagine this is hard so I'm trying to be nice. But leaving her home, husband, and putting up with old people she only knows over Skype. But honestly, just help me a bit and we aren't that hard to live with.
I'm going to go lay back down for awhile, I'm tired.
