Have you ever taken the time to breakdown the percentages spent at the grocery store?
I major shop once a month, then fill in the eggs and fresh produce blanks a few times. A rough calculation of Tuesday evening's purchases:
HBAs 20% Produce 11% Protein 20% Canned items 6% Condiments 8% Paper goods/baggies 5% Beverages 5% Snacks 5% Dairy 7% Baking supplies 9% Clothes soap, bug spray 4%
HBAs are higher than usual because I bought vitamins and $10.49 (this is with a $4 coupon!) eye drops.

Iggy aka IG: To rightfully boast about your numeracy, you must tell us the total number of ways in which the sum of one subset of percentages in your list can be made equal to the sum of another (mutually exclusive) subset of percentages in the list. For example, { Produce, Baking supplies } = { HBAs } because Produce (11%) + Baking supplies (9%) = HBAs (20%) and { Clothes soap, bug spray, Dairy, Condiments } = { Paper goods/baggies, Beverages , Baking supplies } because Clothes soap, bug spray (4%) + Dairy (7%) + Condiments (8%) = Paper goods/baggies (5%) + Beverages (5%) + Baking supplies (9%) This is a special variation of the subset sum problem. These are just two of the ways to get subsets with equal sums. Tell me the total number of ways you can get subsets with equal sums (modulo ordering of the items and ordering of the sets) and I shall set my avatar to anything not snow leopard related for a week.

I broke everything down into several categories (dairy inc cheese, produce, meat, wine, cat, HBA....) for about a month a couple years ago. It was too big a PITA to continue but meat & produce ran about 20-25% each.

I don't even know what HBA is! Urban dictionary says Hot Booty Action but I am about 80% certain that isn't what you are picking up from the grocery store...
