You're really going with that lame "gun free zones" crap?
Out of every possible explanation thrown out that has to be the worst- not to mention completely false. What other gems you have up your sleeve? Want to blame Ozzy or maybe Call of Duty? Action movies?
I think the point he was making is that making certain areas gun free have failed to stop the shootings, not that they have caused them. When the only people around who are armed are criminals or crazies, that leaves everyone else pretty vulnerable.

I'm not aware of an armed citizen accidentally shooting a bystander while trying to take down an active shooter. Can someone provide any documentation of this? Is it really as common as the OP claims?

Has there been any mass shootings where off duty cops hang out ?

Sorry, I meant Happyhoix's OP in the other mass shooting thread. Basically she asked the question why people need guns in self defense and said it would be better and safer to call in the SWAT team than having people start shooting like "the ok coral."

Who knows? I know my ass isn't standing around to find out who is shooting who- let the cops handle it.
There was that one man with a CCW that admitted he almost shot the wrong person during the AZ shooting- good thing he didn't- that person was tackling the shooter.
And really it would be much worse than the OK corral- at least there people knew who their enemy was. If shots ring out in some crowded place and people start drawing weapons it is a disaster waiting to happen- and when the cops do show up they are not going to know who is who.
