I'll have to ask DH about that. Hubby is a twin eh? Cool I've been mistaken as being a twin a few times. People come up to me and start talking like I know them and I tell them I'm not that person. Then I add, I'm the evil twin.

I had the best short nap last year when I was put under for a colonoscopy. Have not slept that good in ages. Give me more of what they gave me any time.

Morphine is AMAZING! I was given it before I had to have emergency surgery. Definitely a "feel no pain" type of drug, but even after using it only a day or two, it was painful coming off it, because it is such an excellent painkiller.

For my first one I was given something (not propofol) and I mostly stayed awake and I watched it on the monitor. For my second one I was given propofol and slept through the whole thing (pardon the pun). They say it makes for a deeper sleep and less grogginess upon waking up. One time a relative was going for her first one and she was really nervous about it. I told her that after her doctor asks How are you?, say, "Fine, and how are things at your end?" They had a laugh and she wasn't so nervous after that! Never had morphine though but have heard some good things about it...

If I had been drinking a beverage as I read the highlighted, I would have spewed the beverage on my tablet screen.

That is almost making me wish I did not have to wait three years for my next colonoscopy. I've had four of them, and really, really would have used that line, though not likely with a straight face. I've had morphine (for breast reduction surgery) and propofol (for the colonoscopy). Morphine was just weird. Good painkiller, but I saw things I'd prefer not to see again. Strange, funky creatures walking down the hospital corridor (those could have been other patients wearing those butt-baring hospital gowns, however). Propofol was a good nap with no real after-effects.

Propofol was a good nap with no real after-effects. I thought the same thing. I hope I remember that line in two years. In the city where my parents lived was the York Street jail. In the late 80s, my dad had heart bypass surgery. After coming out of surgery, I imagine my dad was still somewhat out of it because of the anesthesia and probably morphine. The recovery room nurse asked my dad a few questions to make sure he was coming out of his fog. She asked him his name, birth date, and what year it was. Dad got the questions right. When the nurse asked him if he knew where he was, my dad seriously replied, "The York Street jail?" The nurse laughed and told him he was okay
