They both suck. And people thought Carter was bad.

Look, I voted for him twice...I'm a generational Democrat. Everyone in my family, since my great grandfather came upon these shores, has voted Democrat. But I'm starting to wonder...do I break the mold?
I don't like Hillary, and it has nothing to do with gender.
I think the right female President would be a blessing...but not her.

They both suck. And people thought Carter was bad. Carter WAS bad. Bush was worse. Obama was better. my fellow Republicans will NEVER agree with me on any of that, but i firmly believe it.

Come on DJ...Bush was a disaster. did i not just say that...nicely? i would call him "the worst", but i think Harding was the worst president in the last century. until 2021, he will hold that title. THEN BUSH WILL TAKE OVER.

You know your history better than I do. I would probably say William Henry Harrison.
Who was that guy and what did he represent?

Who was that guy and what did he represent? harrison? died in office shortly after elected. did very little. sometimes a president that does little is better than one that does a lot. i would rate harrison below Bush, for the record. but he was a pre-civil war president. harding was much later, and much worse. tyler succeeded him, and did poorly. but he was a better president than Bush, ime. but just barely. they were comparably awful.

He got a serious boost from that eulogy. That doesn't mean they approve of him overall.. just that they support him in what has happened over the past week or so. Heck... I give him "props" for his eulogy, and I "approve" of him (overall... I'm still pissed that SCOTUS screwed the pooch on their Obamacare ruling... and it's named after him... so he loses points for that) for the past week. Actually, it isn't. It is the ACA, a name I have used consistently for it here and elsewhere. However his opponents derisively called it "Obamacare", a stupid moniker that seems to have stuck. Most people, including journalists, politicians and even health care professionals have given up calling it by the proper name! And where, pray tell, did those that started calling it "Obamacare" get the "Obama" part? Was it because it's is so like Romneycare that they decided to call it "OBAMAcare"? Regardless of who named it that way or why... it's still named after him, even if it's an unofficial nickname.

I have my theories, but I'd like to hear it from a democrat.

Well DJ, I don't think she is democrat enough for me and she seems Janus faced...I think she will be manipulated from good ole Bill and not really have any kind of vision.
I'm leaning Libertarian these days.

side note: wouldn't it be hilarious if Hillary lost the nomination and we ended up with BERNIE SANDERS?

Maybe someone can share with us concrete reasons why that would be a bad thing.

my point, in case anyone missed it, is that Sanders is running a good campaign so far, and is the most likely to succeed if Clinton fails. in their absolute fervor to destroy Clinton, the GOP might be getting someone far less conservative to run against. despite what they might believe, a populist leftist could do quite well in the next cycle, especially if paired with Bush III.

I would love to see the American voter face the choice of Sanders as the Democratic nominee and Cruz has the Republican. Now that would be an election to watch!

Now that would be an election to watch! i would rate that matchup as extremely unlikely. if you are looking for a more TP kind of guy than Bush that might win, Walker is your guy.

Obama approval at new 2 year high today, according to RCP. NOTE: this is common around 4th of July- presidents get a little bump.
more encouraging news for Obama lovers is that his disapproval number is also nearing a 2 year low- he is less than 1/2% away today, at 49.4%

Acceptance that the Confederacy and the Civil War were all about slavery is rising too... Neither one is good news, because in both cases those increases in approval are based on the belief of lies and propaganda.

I have it on "perfect" and "flawless" authority that slavery was only 1 of the 50 reasons for the Civil War.

I'm kind of waiting to see what the whole Greek thing does. If that blows up and the European economy tanks with it, and our economy sinks back down with them, pulling us into another deep recession, Obama's numbers will tank like Bush's did.

Assuming you mean Obamacare lies... > That everyone now has (or at least can get) health insurance. > That everyone can now afford to see a doctor. > That it will help keep healthcare costs down. > That it's constitutional. > That it's good for the country. > That it won't cause financial strain on the government. > That it will make waits at ER's shorter because people won't wait to see their PCP anymore. I could probably think of some more if I really wanted to give the response more than a minute of my time... but that's enough to prove the point that the lies exist.

Assuming you mean Obamacare lies... take your pick. with that much of a blanket statement, it really doesn't matter, does it?> That everyone now has (or at least can get) health insurance. > That everyone can now afford to see a doctor. > That it will help keep healthcare costs down. > That it's constitutional. > That it's good for the country. > That it won't cause financial strain on the government. > That it will make waits at ER's shorter because people won't wait to see their PCP anymore. LOL... well we all already knew about the famous lies Obama told (the "you can keep your doctor" and "you can keep your insurance" ones)... and no one has increased their appreciation of it over those. Most of those lies come from the Liar-in-chief himself. They are just repeated and expanded upon by the media. People (in general) appreciate what the media cons them into appreciating. The media has done an AWESOME job of conning the people on/about Obamacare.
