Pat, I am so sorry all this is happening to you. It's even harder when you are dealing with 2 people by yourself.
Have you looked for some online help from here: www.alzconnected.org/discussion.aspx?g=topics&f=2147485438
A lot of very friendly knowledgeable people, many of who are in the same leaky boat you are trying to care for 2 people and having little help

It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.

I think the neurologist is an excellent plan, Pat. I certainly agree with the rule-out proposal, and there's a possiblity there is something bothering her that she can't vocalize.

Have you (or the Doctors) considered having an Electroencephalograph (EEG) done?

I saw that topic on the Alz message board. Many said their spouse was crying and all emotional, and someone finally discovered that the loved one was in pain. They started some Advil or Aleve type products and that seemed to help. The LO simply was unable to verbalize to the caregiver what was wrong.

DD went to the psychiatrist today. He was concerned about weight gain with the zyprexa so he halted it and started her on 2 others. She gained 6 pounds the first week and I forgot to weigh her this morning. But the way she is complaining about back pain I'm guessing she regained the 12 pounds she lost. Was brutal getting it off, sigh.
Hope these new meds do ok, we go back in 2 weeks to check the effectiveness on her.
Still doing ok, hope it continues so. Pat, a very common side effect to many psychiatric meds is weight gain. Not all doctors feel as yours did. I've seen cases in person and via independent films where a person gained 50 lbs. or more but was kept on those meds.
Certain drug classes, it is hard to avoid. I think one popular actress on Lithium managed to keep her weight down by drinking like a fish. I had wondered if it made the drug less effective in her because of it.
