saveinla: Thanks for the HU on the UPs. I was hoping that they had not yet tied them to the individual cards. murphath: I'm glad you got to take advantage of your $5/$15 from CVS. I got one too but I had to let it go. I searched last week's ad and this week's ad trying to find a scenario to make it worth my using it, but sadly, I couldn't find anything.

Most of you know I do a lot of walking/hiking. Sometimes I find money on the ground which I always pick up. I've noticed scratch off lottery tickets being thrown on the ground so decided to pick those up, too, and enter the 2nd chance lottery. I haven't won there but I did find one ticket that was a winner: a whopping $5! Better than a kick in the pants and I got paid to exercise that day! Yeah for you!! Geez, whoever bought that ticket wasted their money twice!!

Found these great Shock Top, Johnny Appleseed and Budweiser NBPR(No Beer Purchase Required) forms at Save-A-Lot.
-Shock Top $4 NBPR rebate for fresh fruit and produce (purchase must be > $4) -Johnny Appleseed $4 rebate for "gourmet" meats, cheeses and prepared foods(I bought some chunk Pecorino Romano) (purchase must be > $4) -Budweiser $4 rebate form for $4 on a whole turkey or whole ham. (purchase must be > $4)
I sent in two so far for the fresh fruit and produce and one so far for the meats and cheeses. Will send in the one for the turkey this week and another for the meats and cheeses hopefully.
What's nice is that they allow one rebate per address.

I haven't had any UPs in my hands since last Christmas, so once again, I have to ask: If you opted for your UPs to print out at the register (which I did), have they changed things so that those UPs are tied to the card that they came from? TIA Last time I used some I had trouble using them. The checker gave some lame excuse but I suspect it was bcause it was printed from a different card. They did it manually because they could not figure out the problem but they did not check to see which card it was from like they do at c v s.

CVS is starting to email me again. I got a $2 EB last week so decided to use it: 2 CVS "Viactive-like" calcium chews: $9.99 (they were B!G1F) -$2.00 EB -$3 something on a CVS gift card I paid $2.93 plus tax for 200 chews--definitely a good deal and very timely. I just ran out!
Saturday they sent me the $5/$15 via email so I went yesterday (the expiration date) and bought: 1 Vaseline lotion $6.00 1 Vaseline spray lotion $6.00 1 Wet N Wild nail polish $2.19 1 32 oz Yuban coffee: $7.99 Total: $22.18
Minus B1G1 spray lotion free: $7.99 (yes, it automatically took off $7.99-the max value of the q, even tho price was $6 $1 Wet n Wild q 11/16 SS $5/$15 emailed CRT Total w/tax $9.03
Received $1 EB for the Yuban coffee
For those of you thinking of doing the Lipton Tea/Skippy Peanut butter deal, coupons.com has a $3/2 Lipton Tea q and .55/1 Skippy q. I used all mine when Safeway had a sale on those items last week. I read on a blog that skippy is less than a dollar a jar w these q s.

I'm so curious. How do you buy gas cards with the HI card? And where do you buy them if not at HI stores like Lowes and HD? The ad I saw was just for HD. I'll probably get at least one because we'll buy a Christmas tree there and can probably use the rest for stuff around the house. Freesalsa, When they used to sell the Home Improvement GCs with Ups at RA, I bought them and I would go buy other gift cards or gas cards at Lowes or Home Depot, since they were just like regular Discover cards. Unfortunately at Lowes, they will not allow you to buy a Gas card with the Lowes GC, so I still have a few of those lying around. I think Home Depot will probably be the same, so that's why I may not buy the Home Depot GC. That,s brilliant! I never thought of that. I,m sure they'll bring them around again next time. At least, I hope. Thanks for the clarification.

I think I have mentioned a fruit/veg mkt near DD1 that seems to have good sale prices on thigs I regularly use ONLY the weeks I am NOT going that far. GOOD NEWS!! They are opening a new store this spring MUCH closer to me – just 1.5 mi from where I usually go to get gas.
I need more chicken like a hole in my head, I have quite a bit in the freezer & I already eat it about 3x/week BUT a couple independent markets in metro Chicago are running boneless, skinless breasts for 0.99/lb. I had been hoping for a good deal on a turkey breast.

Is everybody ready for BF week? ? ? I've got my lists ready, my Qs printed, and my GCs ready and I am ready to go. Of course, I dread the whole thing because it's such a pain but I'll give it my best. I'm looking forward to the mac and cheese, laundry soap, GG veggies, batteries, and more!
I still need to go to one more grocery store to get the rest of everything for Turkey Day, but I got a lot of it already last week. I can't remember if I already said it but I did see better prices on turkey this week, but not at any store where I could come up with $25 worth of something else.
Good luck, everybody!

I'm ready for the sale on baking staples at Meijer next Saturday and have my coupons ready. I'm also hoping to get a Kitchen Aid mixer, finally! Today I got a pots and pans set for DS2 that was a much better set than will be on sale Black Friday so will save us the hassle of shopping then. I will be going to Rite Aid as there are more deals than I originally thought, that is if they stocked their shelves.
I got everything bought for Thanksgiving so I shouldn't have to stop in any store until later next week. Turkeys were $.54 lb. at Meijer if you had a $20.00 order before discounts and coupons. I got 3 turkeys and I did not spend $20.00 per order.

I am NOT much into BF this year. Have some things from CVS & WAG that I will get early Thur. I also have a couple things in mind for 2 of the 3 grands w/spring bdays. Those may be ordered online Thur or Fri. Depends on shipping. Lat year I was able to get FREE shipping. I can do store pickup if needed.

CVS sent me another $5/$15 so I decided to go ahead and do the pre-BF ad. As usual, the ad doesn't reflect the actual prices of some of the items:
Sour Patch Gum rings up at $1.29 instead of $1.57 and the Sour Patch Box candy rings up at $1.50 instead of $1.67.
This brought my total to less than $15 so I had to grab another freebie to put myself over the top. The cashier was rude. I didn't absolutely need any of the items that I got, so all in all I wished I had just skipped it especially since the CVS BF ad #2 pretty much sucks.
The last time I did BF at CVS (2012), my receipt was a lot taller than me. Boy have times changed.

On a brighter note, I stockpiled shredded Monterey jack cheese yesterday at the GO. They had 8 oz. bags for $.87/ea. ($1.74/lb). I picked up a dozen bags.

Pretty good day at CVS. They had almost everything I wanted except the laundry soap. DH came and even did multiple transactions and didn't get stressed (that was my job.) This was a new CVS for me near my new place. It's kinda small but they had a lot of everything. I'll still go tomorrow to another one near my work to get the last few items they didn't have to get another two of my favorite items.
When I got to CVS they had Stride gum as part of the freebies but I didn't see it in the ad. Is this part of the same deal with 5 Gum or something separate?
There wasn't much I wanted at RA or Wags so I will skip them until the Thurs-Sat sale.
Went to Albertsons and got some more Thanksgiving foods as well as a few other things. Triscuits were $1.19 ea wyb4 and after IP. There was a Q in the home mailed ad for Challenge butter 2/$5 so I got that and used 2 30c off CA dairy. I forgot to look again for more of the Big Book of Savings where I got the Q a few weeks ago.
Hope you all did well today!

FreeSalsa: You can google Real California Milk to get the .35 RCM printable. I buy Organic Valley and it has that label on it. It can be used on any product with the label, i.e. Thrifty Ice Cream. It's nice to be able to print as many as you need.
RE CVS: Their preBF ad actually has more stuff than BF, IMO. Like Dancinmama, I got a $5/$15 and had a $25 "My Points" CVS gift card. I was able to get everything except the laundry detergent. My total was $16.62 and I rec'd $16.02 in EB's. Included in that purchase was the Gevalia coffee: 2/$10 with a $5 EB. The gum/candy will go to the kids when they come home for the annual family Christmas party. All the other stuff we will use. Happy the Excedrin was on sale with an EB and the $2 q in Sunday's paper made it an even sweeter deal.

Doh! Not such a good day at CVS today. I tried another store to get the laundry soap and Advil that they did not have the other day, plus Lindsay black olives and a few other things. It was a store I had never been to that was near another errand I was on. There were hardly any shoppers and some kind of manager was one of the two checkers. I did several transactions and he rang me for most of them. Toward the end, he said he noticed that I was using two cards. I said yes, mine and DH's. He gave me a bit of a hard time about it. He said it's ok for us each to have our own cards but that DH should come to the store and use it himself. I've never had anyone ever tell me that. Then he went on about people using expired coupons (which they usually accept, he said, so I'm not sure what his problem with that was) and some people abusing the system. He said it nicely but you could tell there was something behind that. He said he'd never seen me in that store so maybe he suspected me of something. Luckily that's not a store I will need to go to again.

Back in the day, I used to use (2) cards at my CVS all the time - one for me and one for my mom and they welcomed the fact that I was doing it. I could NEVER do that at my CVS today and unfortunately the next closest one is over 10 miles away. Occasionally, like last week with the paper towels, I'll use multiple cards to get a freebie; but only with the help of DH. We got them to give to DS. I still have over $60 in CVS gift cards and unless something changes at my store, it's going to take me years to use them up.

Strange. My A Full Cup issue was that after I asked a question in the CVS forum on Sat 11/22 my IP addy was suddenly banned by ‘an admin.’ NO explanation as to why. This went on for several days. However, today I was able to get in again at most threads but NOT the one where I asked the question. Have to see how it goes in coming days.
I still get along quite well w/my 2 close by CVS store mgrs. I can pretty much do whatever I need. I have 2 cards (mine & former work) plus access to my late Dad's info. I only did one of the paper towels as I am still overloaded from the last paper towel freebie.

I only ran out for a minute to get the HD gift card so I can roll the $10 RR tomorrow.

All the grocery sales ran thru Thur this past week. Most of my independent markets have not even posted their ads on line as of this morning. However, I see nothing that is a must buy for me so far.
I did pick up the stuff I wanted from CVS & WAg Thur am but did no other shopping.
VERY early this am I went online to order some stuff for 3 of the grands bdays (spring). The oldest grand (summer) is more into experiences. I will look for an event/coincert/play for her bday. I have a couple of things stockpiled for the youngest's bday.

CVS emailed me another $5/$15 so I waited until "the jerk" was off shift and went in to get the tuna, the Cheerios, and all of the freebies. I paid $.51 in tax and lost very little, if any, in EBs. I've been trying to track down the fake UGGs in my size that WAGs had in their pre-BF ad. I went to or called (6) stores trying to locate them. Today I went in to my WAGs to see if they could help and they bent over backwards looking at other stores' inventories and calling stores until they found them for me. The store manager is going to pick them up (one in black and one in chocolate brown) on Tuesday. I called corporate to let them know how much I appreciated their awesome customer service!!

RA did not have the cotton balls or the cough drops that I wanted but I got some of the other things to roll my RR. I will see if there is another RA in the area, maybe they still have them. The store near me is still being remodeled and though it's looking better they didn't seem to have a lot of stock. I bought a few items OOP to roll for some free ones tomorrow. After that I'll buy some rubber gloves that DH likes.
I went back to the CVS where I had a good experience the other day and had another very good experience. This cashier who seemed to be some kind of manager told me that if they are offering good deals, why not take advantage of them? She did not mind our multiple transactions but DH did go with me this time.
I did hear a few workers at CVS say that the place was dead and it's not usually like that. The Vons/Safeway next door was also dead. But they were slicing up Thanksgiving turkey and ham and packaging it as lunch meat, half price, so we got some of that. DH spotted it. He pays attention to prices now.
Tomorrow I will do one more pass at RA, then hit Wags and see if they have any freebies left.

Well, my "coq au vin" a la Julia Child was a Thanksgiving hit. My sister and I had fun being a tag team at the end getting the sauce to reduce down. The four of us had a great day but I still missed having the kids here. Don't know if I'll ever get used to their being far away. It will, unfortunately, be the same for Christmas Day. However, the good news is they will be home next weekend for the annual Christmas party. Yea! The house will be full once again.
I did most of the deals at CVS and RA. Rolled the pre-black Friday EB's earned and got just about the same back. I'll use the RA UP's for upcoming deals, I'm sure. I registered my AMEX card for Small Business Saturday so will buy $10 gas at a small local station, $10 at local hardware store, and $10 for an individual pizza at my fave local pizzeria. I'll then get the $30 in credit from Amex (6-8 wks later, I believe). Good deal!
I went to Target and Kohl's yesterday morning--nobody in those stores so they all must have done the after Turkey dinner shopping. I bought a dress at Target I'd been eyeing but did not want to pay full price. Not that $28 is outrageous, but $17 is even better. I used 2/$10 off $25 at Kohl's along with some Kohl's cash so got out of there pretty cheaply, as well.
I need (want) to get a new pair of black boots or ankle boots. I saw a cute pair of Aerosoles at Marshall's for $29.99 so I think I'll get those. Then my outfit for DD1's Reno wedding will be complete!

I got a few deals this weekend including most of the free or MM Rite Aid deals. I also had gift cards for Old Navy and got 7 tops 50% off with free shipping, so $3.50 after gift cards. I got a free 8"x 10" photo at Walgreens, which I'm framing for a gift. At Meijer I got the following baking items that they have on sale once a year. 8 lbs. Land O Lake butter 8 Betty Crocker frostings 4 Domino sugar 4 lb. 3 Gold Medal flour 4 Crisco oil 2 Crisco shortening sticks 1 Kraft marshmallows 1 4 lb. bag brown sugar 2 PAM sprays 2 Karo syrups 10 Nestle Toll House morsels
Total price: $108.61 Sale price: 63.61 Less MQ's: 53.11 Less MPERKs: $12.11 OOP
I also got a Kitchen Aid mixer for $262.49- $20.00 store coupon for $242.49. I received a $50.00 catalina that I will be using within the next couple of weeks and I should see $18.00 in my mperk rewards account tomorrow.

Guess either everyone was beat from Thanksgiving & BF or the grocery ads were SOOO poor no one bothered because ALL my stores were pretty much empty on Sat. There is even NOTHING I want/need at CVS or WAG this week.

DH and I went to Sam's Club yesterday as it was open to non-members. He likes to get the kids gag gifts, i.e. a huge box of cheezits for DD1 etc.. It's the only time we go there so not worth the membership. We wandered around and I guess some of the prices are good but I still think I do better with the sales/coupons.
We also went to the mall because I picked a gift ornament at church and have to buy a gift for the child listed. In any event, I now know why I hate shopping. That place was a zoo. We did find a cute zip up hoodie at Penny's but I'll have to get the rest at our local Kohl's. My nice, quiet, uncrowded Kohl's.

Today in my free organic fruit box I got 4 colors of bell peppers, yellow squash, 8 huge artichokes, and two heads of butter lettuce, in addition to a few pears and the usual zillions of bananas. I read an article recently where you can sprout a head of lettuce in a glass of water so I'm trying that. Actually, it was a hydroponically grown lettuce so it already has roots. I'm keeping it in water for a few days until the rain passes and then I'll put it in a pot with dirt. Free food becomes more free food! I was happy today because we don't usually get veggies, just tons more apples and bananas.
