I'm facebook friends with sheilaincali. And Firebird, for that matter. And sheila is always posting pictures of her son, or talking about what he's doing. And I am totally jealous of her smart and funny 15 y/o.

We just found out that replacing our siding is going to cost 22Kish vs the 12Kish we had been saving for. Nothing like an unexpected 10K loan to kill the mood.

Though I should probably warn people who might want to be FB friends with me (and those that already are)- my father is a private investigator and process server. He joined FB in order to help track people down and get evidence for fraud cases. So my advice- really do lock everything down to friends only, and be careful who you friend, because if you decide you want to go mountain climbing while out on a workers' comp claim, it's really best if people can't just stumble across your pictures.

We just found out that replacing our siding is going to cost 22Kish vs the 12Kish we had been saving for. Nothing like an unexpected 10K loan to kill the mood. Between daycare expenses and DH's stagnant wages, we have like no extra money at the end of each month. So I have no idea where this $10k will come from. I wonder how much money we'd get if the house "accidentally" went up in flames.....

That's why I only use my dummy FB account. And by "dummy" I'm referring to the people I have as friends over there... LMAO!!!! I crack myself up... And only yourself.

It all goes back to the old WIR from way back. That's how we all ended up FB'ing each other. I'm not fb friends with everyone just a handful. That being said- I am delightful so feel free to PM me if you want to friend me. Is that an open invitation? Sure

Well, if anyone wants to find my FB page, my active one is the "apple tart" one. You can find me on Angel's list, or several "fake" fb lists like Beerwench, Tina's or MM's, or molly mouser's... Right now my picture is a cat... I only have a couple people from here on my "real" account, but I rarely look at that one.

And with the proper guidance you too can raise a smart ass just like my kid. I'd be happy to send you pointers

(Or even me, for that matter.)
Back on the topic of people getting to chose what they show on FB, people who are friends with me might have noticed a distinct lack of any pictures of DD, or even mention of her, on FB. That is because there are legal restrictions about what you can share about a foster child online and life is just easier if we don't talk about her on FB except in very rare instances, in which case she is referred to as Pop Tart.
So see, some of us have FB accounts where we post silly nonsensical stuff about fantasy football league drafts but nothing about the actually important things going on in our lives. That's why it's really important not to trust the picture FB paints of other people's lives.

there is one woman on my FB friends list who's about to get unfriended/hidden. I usually scroll past most of her stuff, but she likes to go on and on about how she stays at home with her two little boys and STILL manages to clean the house daily, work full time from home, and put a nice dinner on the table for her husband every day. Oh, my personal favorite was how she didn't understand how people say that parenting is the hardest thing they've had to do because it's just so freaking easy - I mean she's had SOOOO many more difficult obstacles to overcome in her life than parenting two young kids... Do we have a mutual friend? My friend like this just started homeschooling as well. Which is fabulous, if you want to do that, but now half of her posts are about how evil and corrupted the public schools are.

Facebook makes me feel like I am the only person that works full-time.
I have limited myself to checking Facebook about twice a week. I am sort of envious of those that can go to the beach or shopping every day when I am at work eight hours a day Monday through Friday.

I like FB for keeping up with my family. I have a brother with 2 young kids. Unfortunately is DW posts a lot and ~80% are of her wacko politcal views and the other 20% are of her kids. I just read the kids stuff.

I use FB to keep up with friends and family. I tend to post mostly positive stuff, but I think that is because I tend to be more of an optimist. But I don't hide the negative either. I use the message feature a lot to chat. I do keep it personal and you will see extremely little about work, and that which is about work would already be public knowledge anyways. I also have very few people from work. I enjoy seeing the pictures and sharing in others experiences that are differnt than mine. I also enjoy the fun post and the conversations that happen. If I post a food pic it is most likely something I made, or I'm planning on making.

My biggest pet peeve is definitely cryptic statuses, I just roll my eyes and move on. Second is quoting song lyrics or bible passages. Food pictures get really old unless it came with a recipe. I like to know what people are up to and endless pictures of food tells me nothing. Pet photos also get old. I used to be bored by kid photos, but then I had one and now I love seeing kid photos. I like seeing vacation photos, travel photos, hobbies (other than food), kids, home projects, even pets and exercise routines if it's occasional. A few friends posts that they worked out at least 3 times every week and I find that pretty pointless since it's repetitive. I read some interesting articles or watch videos I would have never found if a friend hadn't posted. I also like using facebook for buy, sell, trade. I mostly keep my account to share photo albums and get invited to events. But, it's all good. Facebook would be pretty boring if nobody posted, so I'll take the good with the bad. I can't stand the nonstop political and religious posts....I respect everyone's views but nonstop political and nonstop religious posts drive me insane. I don't hide the people, I just post irritating stuff back until they block me...once they block me I feel like I've won!lol
