For those wondering, my SIL is still a fucking idiot. She was going to bring the dog again this past weekend and my MIL shut it down.

I love my cousin J. He came over, popped the rusted D-ring off my car. Hopped into his truck and took me to my MIL's to pop the rusted/no key lock off the boat. Then, best of all, said "hey, I gotta go, got stuff to do." so we didn't get stuck chatting. I really need to get him a thank you gift. This is the cousin who gives us venison and helps out with fallen trees on our land.

Dear organization, Thank you, sorta, for naming me co-volunteer of the month, along with someone whom I dislike intensely and who is widely regarded as an idiot. All the congratulations posted are addressed to both of us, and all the FB notifications show his picture .

Dearest friend J, I wish I could tell you I am surprised at the outcome of your marriage. None of us who know and love you thought marriage to that gal was a good idea. She was preggers with another man's child, had other kids she'd lost custody of, and came across to everyone who met her as selfish, jealous and domineering (my DH met her once and banned her from our house).
So when she started a home business (in the house you owned) and left you in the lurch for the bills and issues and citations from the county, so she could be with yet another boyfriend, I have to tell you my shock level on this one is pretty much non-existent. But for her to leave her child and do this (the third child she's abandoned) is grounds for tossing her stuff onto the street and changing the locks. Fortunately, you are listed as the father on the birth certificate. Good move. The kiddo loves you more than anyone on earth and you're really the only stable parent with a stable home she's ever known. You'll spend time and money in court extricating yourself from this hot mess. But fight for your daughter. Biology means nothing. She is the child of your heart. Her mother leaves them like trash on the sidewalk of her loser life.
Love you, support you and I've got you front, back and center.

So, this weekend was move-in weekend for Hot Mama and Dude. Had to be this weekend -- school starts here in 10 days (yes, we start really early here), so she has to get her youngest kiddo registered in the new county of residence. The older kid, her son, has to back and get his diploma because his mama says he wasthisclose to finishing high school, but didn't. Her dad was living with her; not sure if he is moving into the new menagerie or elsewhere. Work should be interesting....assuming she and or "K" (our coworker, her BFF and now her new neighbor) show up for work.

Dear brother,
You have to be one of the biggest douche weasels I have ever met. The rest of us are all working full time on top of helping dad with the new resturant and you are bitching because "dad makes me work too long?" Boo fucking hoo. I'm sorry you haven't held a job for more than two weeks at a time (maybe a month) and therefore have no concept of what actual work is. I am glad A tore you a new one over your attitude.
While we are at it screw you for being an ass over the fact you are not assistant/co-manager and A is. You did NOTHING to help get this venture off the ground except whine about how awful it was to get out of bed when asked. A busted her ass and not only that busted her ass when it was owned by my great uncle. She also has managerial experience and holds a culinary degree. She's sank her soul and a not small amount of money into this she absolutely deserves that title. You. .. you are Colin Ferrel in Horrible Bosses.
Where do you get off acting like you are A Child called It? Our parents are far from perfect but when I think of all the good that they have done for me, DH, the kids and friends of mine it outweighs the crap. You act like your life has been a nightmare. They have bent over backwards to help (enable) your ass, you are almost 30 years old and still live with them. . .jobless! Now you are trying to get yourself fired so you can have more ammunition against them. Props to them for telling you there is the door, you can quit but they aren't firing you because they know that's what you want.
Dad went out and bought you the knife you wanted as a gift for all the hard work you've done. You bitch it has the wrong handles!
To top all this off you have a child on the way (long story not getting into it).
I would have kicked your ass out onto the curb by now. I have no words for how horrible a person you have turned into. DH and I already agreed if something happens to our parents you are SOL. I don't care if you are my brother and the uncle to my children, you don't deserve my help after the way you have behaved.

Sometimes I'm bored and want to release some aggression. Arguing with nutballs helps with that.

Hot Mama was off the entire week. A death in the family, I overheard. No idea who it was. I get taking time off for that but come Monday, she will be a big ball of emotional mess to deal with. Her and "K" have kids going to new schools this year (first grade and kindergarten) so life will be one big bawlfest. They share an office with a door, so at least they can close it and leave me out of it. I plan to start my serious job hunting in October, with an eye towards moving on by January (I have a lot of PTO scheduled already). I won't miss the drama, as I really want to work with adults.

Well, glad to know no one will be featured on the show "Buried In The Backyard" on one of those channels that do all the crime stuff. Good luck with the job hunting.

"K" is on the outs with her DH for the bazillionth time. Comes in crying, threatening to leave him, spends money on a security deposit for her own apartment (!) then a day or so later they're in love again. I'm thinking the two of them may be fodder for that "Snapped" crime show someday.

It's good to have your options open in a case like this.

I know she had to put her kids in public school (no more paying for home schooling) and her car trouble is giving her financial fits. So maybe she and hubbits are really done this time. I swear, it's As The World Turns meets The Osbournes.

Hey don't be dissing the Osbournes! I'll admit that this is the only "reality" show I ever watched. And that was because my son called me and said Mom you have got to turn to channel whatever and watch the Osbournes. He knows me so well.

Ozzy's hilarious, especially when you can actually understand him. And both Jack and Kelly dealt with a lot of personal demons, so it was good to see them on the show looking well. The comparison was meant as a mix of overwrought drama and sheer hilarity, which is really what my office life is.

Well, well, well...I don't normally log in on a Monday, but I wanted to let y'all know the update.... Hot Mama's older sister is the one who passed away. She was around 42, and the death is being investigated as "suspicious and unnatural" by the county authorities. Very sad, regardless of circumstances. She left two young children (I believe she was divorced) and her and Hot Mama's father is still alive. No matter what, it is not the world order of things for a parent to outlive a child, ever. And of course, "K" had her drama, too. A car accident over the weekend. She's fine, car is totaled. No means to get to work at the moment.

That's sad about the sister and now two kids have lost their mother. Cause of death was a drug overdose. The police are investigating to determine if it was accident, suicide or murder (possibly someone duping her into taking the drugs by masking them in food or drink). It makes things really bad. The remains cannot be released from the morgue, so there's no funeral, no death certificates and no way for the kids to obtain any kind of death benefits they're entitled to receive. And even putting their resources together, the family cannot afford a standard burial-type funeral. Crazy stuff. I cannot imagine the state of mind of the dad, having to deal with the death of his daughter and the waiting.
