For the same reason a 6 month old does
Touche.
I can see signing it with DD's name for the grandparents or great grandparents, they would think it is cute.
But for everyone else I think that is weird, just my opinion. She can't really send out christmas cards, she doesn't even know what they are! lol.

Nah, not all of them. Some are, but they were odd before the bun went into the oven. Pregnancy did not start that issue. In the case of the pair in question in my instance, the strangeness that is the two of them started ages ago, when they were single people.

For people other than immediate relatlives, I sign the cards:
"[husband's name], [my name] and Family" (the "and Family" covers any children & pets living at home)

I also think it is odd because it is from ex-family (brother's first wife). I realize you have some ties after divorce, but this seems a bit much

That was what struck me as odd, not signing the baby's name. If either of my ex-SILs sent me a card I would be shocked and probably pretty ticked since they're both terrible people.

I thgink it's strange.
I could see signing my doggie's name on the holiday cards, if I hadn't been too lazy to actually send cards. It would actually make more sense than signing my hypothetical children's names. My doggie is a little sweetie who actually LIKES everyone. My imaginary children would be more likely to turn out like me and you know, probably NOT like everyone. Oh, I did put my dog's name on the card I left for the mailman. She loves the mailman.

Well, I must see these folks two more times; once for a wedding shower and then a wedding (not theirs), and I hope to be done with 'em. So help me, if the newborn sends an invitation for his own christening...

Well I got a Christmas card a couple days ago which included one of those family newsletters. The weird part about it was that the events this couple wrote about in the newsletter went back 2 years. Nevermind the fact that we attended their wedding 6 months ago. They didn't utter a word about what's happened to them since June.
I am thinking of sending them a newsletter that discusses everything that has happened to us since 2006.

I think it is accurate if you do amnio. I don't know how old the pregnant gal is, but we did amnio because I was "old." So, the amnio confirmed the ultrasound, and told me I wasn't having a child with Downs, CF, Turners, Tay-Saks, Wilsons, Nieman-Pick or a handful of other conditions.
But, we still didn't sign the Christmas Card with the kid's name. Nor did I sign the card my mother sent out.
You should have made this thread a poll - because I would love to vote "Creepy!"
