Yep, we need another food thread.
Is there something you love to eat that has your SO gagging and retching when you get it?
For me it's beef tendons. We have a local Pho place where that is in their "everything" soup and I ordered it once on a whim. It was love at first bite even though I did not know what I eating at the time.
My husband cannot even watch me eating them - he literally starts to gag. DD loves them as well and takes great delight in telling her aunt all about it when we visit them.

Actually I'm waiting to see if someone posts something (besides Okra) that I despise.
There's not too much that I don't like.

Raw oysters; DH says he doesn't want to eat anything that willing to be eaten.
Mushrooms- he hates the texture. If there are any in his food he gives them to me. Win-win.
Cooked cabbage- he ate too much of it while growing up poor.
OTOH, I won't touch steak tartare and he loves it.

Raw oysters; DH says he doesn't want to eat anything that willing to be eaten. He obviously has never had to shuck them... (Worst way I cut myself working in a commercial kitchen)

Snails. Garlic. Onions, Snow pea pods. Mussels. Scallops. Lobster. OK, now I'm hungry for all of those. I could do a nice seafood stir-fry with those items. Of course, DH would leave home if I did.

Onions, chives, tomatoes, marinara or other tomato sauces, beans, nuts, salad dressing, mustard, corn tortillas, salsa, guacamole, avocado, green/red/yellow peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, squash, green beans, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, spinach, olives, jalapeno or anything spicy. There is a lot more that escapes me off hand.

dark meat. I love dark meat. The darker and meatier the better. My wife only likes white meat. The whitier the better.

He will eat meat, cheese, bread and chicken broth based soups. And he will eat rice, corn, potatoes and broccoli as sides. It is incredibly frustrating for me because i try to cook a variety of food and have a lot rejected. Which is why I came across as harsh in the picky eaters thread.
I am working on onions and tomatoes by mashing them up and mixing them into things so he gets used to the flavor without being able to see them in the dinner. It is incredibly handicapping to not use onion or tomato. Unfortunately he can detect cilantro no matter what I do with it.

I'm sure there could be something that would make one of us gag but we haven't found it yet. I can't imagine a grown adult gagging because someone else is eating something they don't like. I do like asparagus, lobster and crab and DH hates them. I have always taken a more for us approach. I don't like beef liver or deer but I do the grocery shopping and cooking. Since no one else would eat it he is stuck getting liver at restaurants occaisionally.

Turkey. I love turkey. DH hates it with a passion. So every Thanksgiving he eats chicken instead of turkey. Go figure

DH has some sort of inherent revulsion toward ketchup. No one really understands it.
He's ordinarily the most mellow guy you'd ever meet, but if you even joke about putting ketchup on his food - or Gd forbid, wiping a little smear on his arm - he will freak the F out. I've never tested the limits of this revulsion because I don't like to clean up vomit.
(Every now and then there will be some commercial with a kid eating ketchup out of the bottle - he has to leave the room).

Damn, Mid, I thought I was the only one in America who didn't like ketchup! When we first married, BS didn't like onions, celery, raw apples, or popcorn. I have almost cured him of these dislikes after 9 years. However, he still doesn't like oysters. Either the ocean kind or the Rocky Mountain kind (bull testicles). He's just weird like that.

I can't imagine a grown adult gagging because someone else is eating something they don't like. You know it's funny we can't even imagine something until it happens to us. I used to volunteer at a hospital (I was in a special program for teenagers interested in medicine) and was exposed to pretty much EVERYTHING, blood, vomit, you name it. Never had a problem with any of it. Fast forward 25+ years. A few months ago DD got an infection in one of her pierced ears and I went to clean it out. There was a tiny amount of blood and puss and I swear as soon as I got a whiff of it I started to blackout. Full out blackout vision, dizzy, had to quickly lay down on the floor before I collapsed. Got DD worried over what was really nothing and I have no explanation for it whatsoever.

Nothing. Like Resolution, I discriminate against picky eaters, so there was no way I was going to date one more than once. Found myself a lovely gent who isn't a foodie per se, but will happily scarf down whatever, without so much as asking what's in it. Marital bliss.
If we ever have kids, we will be unapologetic food nazi parents. "You eat what mommy and daddy serve, or you don't eat." Can't wait. ;-)

Nothing I eat makes him gag but there are many things he doesn't like that I do.

DH likes liver and onions, and brussel sprouts. I hate both.
If he ever decides that is what he wants for dinner, he can cook them and I'll go somewhere else for dinner.

My husband hates hates hates pumpkin pie. He can watch me ( us ) eat it, but acts like it's an infection brought in to spoil each Thanksgiving. On the other hand, he eats the cartilage off the heads of chicken drumsticks, and loves doing it in front of me. I think that's disgusting. It sounds and looks absolutely disgusting.
