Hmm - not to be picky, but I don't think the icon choice for this thread is that big a deal. Soup for the Soul, as Sugi said - and wasn't it the old wive's tale that chicken soup is the cure for everything? Why does it have to be a "medical" icon? I've seen far stranger thread icon choices in the past for the subject of the threads they were placed on.
I wouldn't be so picky Virgil - it's what Sugi wanted to use.

'The countdown. 4 more days of radiation.' Healing hugs to you and DH my friend. Right this instant I would love for food to taste like food, instead of having cotton in my mouth and my throat restricted.
Oh hon

What about the actual bowl of soup icon? Or the picture of the doctor? Or the first aid kit? Or the pill? Or the chart with an up trend?
Virgil I cannot believe your arguing about this non issue who cares thing on this thread. There was NO icon that was appropriate, end of story.
I was just curious, Sugilite. Whenever people make choices that I consider unusual, I like to find out what's going on in their heads.

GG ....... hope DH does well for the rest of the week ........ and feels better knowing the light at end of tunnel isn't a train. Come in here and complain all you want. We'll listen, hold your hand, ..... and smile with you and DH when you feel like it.
Sugi ...... it's good to be here and able to complain to high heaven. I know we don't have the answers but it's good just to get things off our chest. Hopefully your treatments are going well.
I have a friend who is going through her second round with breast cancer but this time she is taking chemo pills instead of infusion. Still makes her grouchy but the Dr told her not to make plans for check out. I met her on a grief recovery web site after I lost DH#1 to heart attack. She has married again to a widower who lost his first wife to BC.
As we age ... these are the new battles we fight.
My mantra is with this mess ........ These treatments are killing the bugs that want to kill me. I try to keep this in my forward brain ... so I can always see it. Sometimes it's hard.

I'm scared shitless thinking about this. I find out this coming week if it's separate cancer masses or the same masses just spread. The latter is bad for me it means whole body chemotherapy. If the masses are independent of each other that's a better thing than if it's spread. I have no clue what to expect. It's not that I won't make it, it's just how freaking hard is it going to be. I'm a fighter, especially with this medical stuff.
It just freaks me out a wee bit.

Aww sugi - you have every right to be afraid - who wouldn't be? If there's anything I can do from my end, Please PM me and let me know.
If someone who's going to be visiting you wants to email me an update on your progress, or if you have any messages you want passed along back to people here, on any thread(s) or in PM's, just let me know. I'd be more than able & willing to do that for you while you're in hospital.

This morning was treatment #8 and I had one chemo drug dripped into me for about 2 hours. Chemo drug #2 is being dripped into me npw by way of a pump that I have for the next 46 hours. I'll get rid of it Thursday.
Drug #3 I'll get by injection on Friday for my white blood count. It needs to be up to a certain level or they can't give the other two drugs to me.
One week I feel like crap, second week each day is a little better.
Next week I'll have radiation evaluation.
GG ...... hope DH gets better each day.
Sugi ............ healing hugs ...... hope your news is good.

Sugi had her surgery today. I just got an email from her brother, and she is doing just fine and everything went well. The operation was 4 hours long and she will be in recovery for three to four days.
