At least the father who was running in the race who lost his little boy and has a seriously injured wife and daughter will be able to finally breathe tonite. It won't heal his family, but he can finally know that justice will be served now that the little scum-bucket has been caught.

I'm reading reports that the DOJ isn't Mirandizing him right away, looking for the citation as to why and how it's legal....

I hope all of our friends in the Boston area will sleep a little easier tonight. This has been on network t.v. here all day long. Haven't watched all day, but have checked in to see what's going on. Kudos to the citizens & authorities in the area that helped in this arrest!

I'm reading reports that the DOJ isn't Mirandizing him right away, looking for the citation as to why and how it's legal.... First I don't know if he is condition to question. Second there is some law on terrorism that lets them question him before Mirandizing him?

I'm reading reports that the DOJ isn't Mirandizing him right away, looking for the citation as to why and how it's legal.... There's a public safety exception carved out by the Supreme Court. We need to know if he is part of a larger group, where more explosives might be planted, etc. We don't want him "lawyering up" and going silent on us.

This has been very trying on everyone. I'm just so freaking sorry for the innocents from the Boston Marathon.
We lost the potential of something great from 3 innocent people.

I think his older brother manipulated him and even brainwashed him. What angers me is that the older brother was a person of interest a few years ago and yet, when he went "home" for a 6 month visit, no one bothered to check on that long of a visit ? Pretty sloppy and it is very "telling" that this country ONLY looks at certain kinds of terrorists. I actually feel somewhat sorry for the kid because he is a kid and now his life is also over. At age 19. Sad for all concerned.

Zib, not sure what happened on the terrorist front. Apparently the home abroad was visited 5 times by the FBI. I think it is much easier to catch those who plot for a long time and then act instead of those who plot for a short time in their head and then act. Our Colorado crazy being a great example of that. Unless we go all crazy Sci-Fi movie and stop people before they even think of committing a crime, we are always going to miss some. Since I like freedom I prefer that over RL and Sci-FI movie alternatives.

FBI visited over two years ago based on a tip from a foreign govt. the old brothers trip was in 2012. Not that I think what the younger brother did was okay because it sure as hell wasn't but we all know that kids are easily led astray. My almost 19 year old was almost brainwashed into the army. NOT a good idea for him but he listened to the constant pep talks and I had to threaten him with a lot to get him to settle down and stay in college. NOW he thanks me but then I was a big meanie. It's so easy to brainwash the young and even the not so young.

NOW he thanks me but then I was a big meanie. It's so easy to brainwash the young and even the not so young. I can believe that the older one brainwashed the younger one, very easily, At that age they are very easy, unfortunately, to convince to do what most older poeple would consider crazy. I also feel bad for their parents. I know everyone instinctively wants to hate them too, but these two seemed like they were normal good kids through HS. I know I probably would rather be killed myself first than have to live to know I raised my "babies" to grow up to be killers. there is just no good side to something like this except that it is over.

Well I read on CNN that he is so injured in the throat area that he might not be able to ever talk again.
CNN.com LINK --- >> Boston Marathon Suspect
I'm wondering why he didn't shoot himself.

Possibly because he's only 19 and thought he was invincible.
His condition is serious but stable - they're waiting to Mirandize him - but he will be.
I don't believe they had firearms, Sugi. Just the explosives.

Yes - I checked online since posting that - my mind was pretty drained after last night from watching all the live coverage of the scene unfolding prior to the capture.

I'm with you, SL and Sugi. I somehow HAD to watch it all til it was over. It was exhausting just watching it all. Now I wish we could all hold hands with each other or something. Hard to put into words....
