It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.

Hugs to all of you who have been holding your collective breath through this mess. I'm just so darned sorry! Thank you for your understanding, mmhmm. I didn't know any of the victims, and yet, I am sitting here crying -- tears of grief and tears of relief. Well, hon, know there's an old woman sitting in South-dang-Carolina crying right along with you ... and for the same reasons. Right now, we're all Bostonians.

Sign in a Boston store window:
"Closed until terrorists are dead."

It made the news around here (MA that is). You can just google it and it will come up. It was at a liquor store in Boston.

Thank God they have him. I was going to write some really bad things about him along with my previous statement, but then I realized that they've all been felt, and said, and, I think, there is no point in stating the obvious.
I pity the people who where hurt and murdered in all of this senselessness, and pray for the wellbeing of those that are left. Like my daughter commented tonight about Suspect #2. " He had it all. The American Dream. And he just left it behind."

By their own choices him and his brother threw it all away, but those innocents that were murdered and injured didn't have that choice.

I've purposely have stayed away from the images. I don't need to see people suffering. I owe it to those who lost their lives to not give into that.
Yes. Along these lines, I find all the hooting and hollaring and jumping around like drunk fools celebrating his capture to be really distasteful, disrespectful and pretty damn undignified considering the destruction these cowards caused to so many lives. 4 people are dead, hundreds injured and quite a few will be moving forward without limbs, and these idiots are partying like they just won an NBA championship.

Well, hon, know there's an old woman sitting in South-dang-Carolina crying right along with you ... and for the same reasons. Right now, we're all Bostonians. I'm a Christian and I can't rejoice at anyone being killed- even murderers. I'm going to let God deal with them. Yesterday, though, I dealt with just a tiny part of the repurcussions of these attacks. We hired a young woman who went to school in Boston and went back up there to run the second half of the marathon. A friend ran the first half- apparently you can do that. The explosions occurred before she hit the finish line so she wasn't hurt, but to add insult to injury she came back Tuesday on AA, which had a computer system meltdown and she got in at 3:30 AM. She appeared fine Wednesday and Thursday, but yesterday morning she was having a hard time trying to keep it together. The events of the previous night were just too much on top of everything else. I made some suggestions (our Employee Assistance Program, getting treated for PTSD, just reaching out and calling people she loves since she's new to this area) and sent her home. She e-mailed me last night and said she'd talked to a lot of people and gotten some rest and she was felling much better. I'm sure that knowing that both killers are off the streets helped, too.

Is anyone else wondering how these two guys supported themselves? It was reported the older brother liked to dress well and drove a Mercedes yet the dad worked as an auto mechanic while in the US.

Apparently they had no money if they were robbing a 7-eleven.

Found a Wall street Journal article that said the family had lived in Section 8 housing with the father repairing cars on the street in front of the home for a living. And that recently, the brother was being supported by his wife who was a home health aid. So no money there. The Mercedes must have been during his earlier boxing days (do boxers at that level get paid?) I wonder who paid for his trip to Russia in 2012. I think we will find it is a case of a kid who thought he was owed a privileged life but once the boxing didn't work out, he suddenly stopped getting attention, was directionless and poor and angry that his life was crappy, so he found "religion" which fueled his anger and directed it toward Boston/America.
How the younger brother got caught up in it is a mystery although he was beginning to be headed in the same direction since it was reported that he had failed most of his classes recently and was probably realizing that he was going to have to go from screwing around at college to actually working.

they didn't actually rob the 7-11. they were there at the wrong time, it was being robbed when they stopped for gas....but before they shot the police officer.
that was widely reported around here last night, but may not have made it out to national news.

Thank you Carl. Hubby is a Luddite and has no idea how to get the picture. He'll be thrilled when I show it to him.
