I find myself wondering why some folks seem to NEED to find conspiracies everywhere. I'm not saying there are NEVER conspiracies. I'm just saying there's not one being plotted in every Dunkin' Donuts across the freaking country. Yet, it often seems that's what certain types are looking for ... a vast, evil conspiracy.

It was on NPR on the way home from work yesterday. It was on NBC News last night. It was in this morning's newspaper. The Vast Blackout Conspiracy- epic fail. After a "conspiracy" is exposed, we can't draw inferences from subsequent observations. Or to put it more simply: these outlets may well be running pieces in response to being put under the microscope by Breitbart et al. It works that way for everything. I give the media credit where credit is due. Good on them for covering the verdict. But you can hardly construe that as proof that a blackout never existed.

Perhaps not, but I did notice that they were covering it right along. It is a murder trial. It is not front page- every day- all day news. It was covered adequately in my media market. And I won't dispute that. I don't know how much they were or weren't covering it in various markets. Just pointing out that the teller usually stops skimming from the till when the boss installs a bright red security camera three feet away pointing directly at it.
