I drink water like a psycho, at least a gallon a day in the winter....at least 1.5 gallons in the summer....but I exercise a bit (4 times a week---1.5 hours each time)
I guess I should look into this electrolyte thing

I doubt you have a thing to worry about. As Archie said, it's only the high intensity exercise (marathons and the like) that is of concern.

Actually I was thinking to increase my alcohol consumption right BEFORE I work out, then I will be to drunk to realize what I am actually pressing and can put insane amounts of weights on the bar :-)

I follow the rule that you should drink half your weight in ounces of water. So if you weighed 150, you should drink 75 oz of water. It's not as hard as it sounds.

I drink about 100 oz a day. I have a 16oz water bottle that I carry around and 2 - 32 oz water bottles at work that when I am done with them I fill them back up. I'm currently breastfeeding so I need more water than the average person and the only other thing I drink besides water is 1 to 2 caffinated sodas a day. If I don't stay well hydrated, I am prone to UTIs.

I drink almost no plain water. Almost all my liquid consumption contains caffeine or alcohol.

I drink eight glasses of malt liquor a day. That's mostly water.

I used that formula a few yrs back to determine how much water I should be drinking. I am a pretty small person so 5 glasses is actually plenty for me and I drink 6-7 on the days I workout. I also drink a glass of skim milk a day (which everyone tells me is the same as water)

I haven't had water in months or any cold drinks. I drink coffee, tea, herbal tea and eat soup everyday. Most of my food is soup with lots of liquids in the soup. I use the water from boiling chicken or veggies to make my soup and if I eat other boiled veggies save the water to add to the soup. I like my soup to be a little green so add lots of spinach, cabbage and other greens then water from brussel sprouts. Maybe I am more Irish than I thought

You get most of the liquid that you need from the food that you eat. The 8 glasses a day is a fallacy. Every individual has a different tolerance. I sweat a lot and need large quantities of liquid a day, some can get through with hardly any at all. As far as overhydrating it is really rare and typically happens with marathoners and ultra marathoners. The average Joe doesn't need to worry about that either.

i drink about 80-90 oz a day (tea included). I also have a diet that is relatively high in protein so i am insanely thirsty if i drink less.

My tired eyes just read this as "8 glasses of wine a day" and I thought...boy, I wish.
I have a 32oz plastic cup at my desk that I fill up every afternoon and drink before I leave work. In the morning I have 1-3 mugs of hot tea. At home I will have another glass of water with dinner or another mug of hot tea. Probably should get more water in right now but I just don't.
